I thought it was GekiWhite before I actually watched some Sentai and I preferred that name.
|
Finished Battle Fever J episode 7; I'm so saddened that I had to return to the low quality episodes but I love this series. I love Battle Cossack even more now.

Been busy and kinda fell off of Sentai for a couple weeks, but I've been catching up recently. I'm all caught up on the Kakuranger subs for a start - show's still balls crazy, Kakurangers are still total assholes, still love it.
And today I've started getting back into Gekiranger... with what is hopefully the dumbest episode of the show, episode 36. Aside from one scene at the end, this is the first episode of Gekiranger that felt like total filler. Nothing happened, most of the cast were wasted (in more ways than one, in some cases), and the dumb humor factor was ratcheted up to 11. At least Ken had some funny moments, but for the most part I feel like I really could have found a more productive use for that 24 minutes of my life. And the next episode is a marriage interview one, complete with silly costumes. Awesome. Totally haven't seen that before. :rolleyes |

Matrixbeast, this is one of the episodes I talked about before where it's brought up again that Ran's the captain and they need her on the team. |

Anyway, of course they need Ran. A triangle can lift more than a square :p |
So... I just watched the first three episodes of JyuKen Sentai Gekiranger with Master Elehan.
GekiElephantTouja smiling is a lot stranger than Kyoryujin roaring, and does Master Elehan really have to add pedophilia to his repertoire of creepiness? |
Ran is older than 18...

Also, Bat Li is awesome. I really wish the Bat Spirit Ranger wasn't American exclusive—I wouldn't have minded a GekiBlack. |
I watched the second episode of Zyuranger the other night. It was pretty good I want to learn more about the characters though it's been a bit slow learning about them but I like Geki, Goushi, and Dan so far.
UPDATE: Well to safe posting I also finished Battle Fever J Episode 8, the quality is horrible but I like the series too much to stop now. Loved the Focus on Battle Japan and learning more about some of his past. I love the old school fight scenes, really different than they are now. Can't wait for more. |
Watched Sun Vulcan episode 2, and it reminds of Battle Fever J the same sillyness/seriousness combination that I love so far. VulShark is my favorite from this so far.
|
I watched Liveman Episode 2 and Gokaiger Episode 6 last night. Liveman's was alright, and Gokaiger was really good, I loved learning more about Luca and loved seeing the JAKQ and Sun Vulcan suits.

I'm up to episode 29 on my Shinkenger rewatch now.
I forgot that this series started to just chuck random filler in around the middle. And in terms of the episodes I've seen today. It was cool seeing Blue and Green get their Super forms, and Chiaki and Kotoha getting more bonding time but Genta getting turned to Sushi and being scared of it is just so dumb, I hate this character so much. The introduction of Akumaro was as cool as I remember it being but it's a shame they followed it up with that episode centred entirely around the talking Lantern, even the stuff Genta makes is irritating as balls. |

The episode before that was the epic duel between Juzo and Takeru. Whoa this is Toku, can't have too much development at once! Let's have an entire episode built around a Lantern and his identity issues. |

Also, DaiGoyou is just adorable. |

Honestly rewatching this for the third time (shush don't judge me haha) it just makes it noticeable how poorly plotted this show is. You'll get long stretches of nothing, then short bursts of everything. Whenever the show actually gets interesting, it ruins it with a filler episode like it's scared you'll like it and lots of crucial elements of the series just...happen with little establishing it beforehand. It's a real shame that Samurai just did a straight adaptation, because they could have made like the perfect series if they streamlined Shinkenger better than Shinkenger did themselves. |
Kakuranger episodes 23 and 24. Shit gets real!
[/Part I End] |
So Gou has been introduced in Gekiranger. He's written in a confusing way—he's a nice guy! He doesn't fight for justice. He invented ShiGeki! He still used the Forbidden Geki Waza on Rio. Overall, I like R.J. a bit better.

Chopper is probably my favorite ranger of the main 5.
Locke, I had the same problem with Shinkenger. It isn't a bad show, but nothing happens for many many episodes. After the Juuzo arc in episodes 11 and 12, it seemed like it was episode 26 before anything happened outside of pointless mecha and Genta. And boy, do I hate Genta. Probably the worst sixth ranger thus far. Quote:

Same with Genta, I remember the first time I watched Shinkenger with all the hype around ShinkenGold and man was I disappointed. His fighting style was cool but he just kinda...turns up, then the show does nothing to integrate him into the team properly and instead the show just focuses on him being annoying as hell. |
Just watched one episode of TimeRanger and I love it!
|
Watched the first episodes of Timeranger, Gaoranger, and Abaranger. Timeranger was great, loved the characters and story. Gaoranger was mediocre, and Abaranger was alright.
|
Continuing my Shinkenger rewatch and I just noticed how chubby ShinkenGold’s suit actor is. At least in that night time fight with the Naruto monster dude. Was he always this big or did they get a different suit actor for this sequence?

Got bored and watched Geki 34.
God dammit. I loved that episode. I want to watch 35 so badly now :lol |
So I continued my Shinkenger rewatch, I totally forgot about that episode where it references the film with no explanation at all. To this day I have not seen it and that episode smashes me in the face.
I also finally got round to watching DaiRanger's opening episode and it was...really bad? They focused on stunts, rather than plot or character so it manages to feel rushed while nothing is really happening. Plus the effects are really bad, Jetman has aged better than this series. The suits are cool though. |

Sorry to Time Force fans but in one episode of TimeRanger I felt like I want the next episode and more and more. It took an effort to continue in Time Force. Must watch more TimeRanger!!!
