Thanks for the kind words!
It's actually a really simple set up, I got this lightbox from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but the lights and backgrounds that came with it were not really that great. The lights were yellowish and a bit dim and the backdrops pretty cheap. I ended up getting two clearance desk lamps from Lowe's recently and two daylight 100w replacement bulbs from Kroger for the lighting, and that made a big difference. The backdrop took some experimenting, the one I used in those two pictures I got today, it's upholstery velvet I bought from Amazon($12 shipped). I had to remove some dust from it(and put it in the dryer for five minute to remove creases) and remove even more dust in photoshop. I do a lot of corrections in photoshop though, I don't get this clean a result just in-camera. Here's what the raw image for X looked like btw(though massively scaled down to prevent Den-O from murdering us all, the original raw image was 51mb and 5184x3456pixels): http://imageshack.com/a/img560/9407/w7q1.jpg |
I very much appreciate the information! The effort you put into taking your pictures and making them look amazing really pays off.

What kind of camera do you have? mine is old and just crappy enough I'd like to upgrade, but I know absolutely nothing about cameras. |

yeah, I've gotta stop being lazy and do a Knight gallery.

Depending on your budget, look for something with interchangeable lenses, they're doing a lot of cool stuff on micro 4/3 cameras now and they're the lower end of the dslr market. There's some good point and shoot cameras for even lower, but you might have to do some research on which one would suit you. They all seem to excel at doing one particular thing excellently and other things fairly poorly. They usually have a ton of gimmicks you probably don't need, like GPS tagging or the ability to send instantly to twitter. |
yeah, that's a bit more than I was wanting to spend. Thanks, I'll have to do some research (or probably not, cuz that's like work, so I'll probably just make do with what I've got).
