I prefer the manga's amoral portrayal of Celestial Being as opposed to the series. |
So in other news, the first trailer for Thunderbolt released alongside screenings of Gundam the Origin 2. Here's one of the stills, as the trailer hasn't been released yet.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YShZSp4Khw...25974226_n.jpg I also found a better summary of Thunderbolt's plot: The first part of the story takes place in the ruins of Side 4. It's known as the Thunderbolt sector because the colony debris produces static discharges when they collide with one another, giving the impression of lightning. The area has some strategic significance since Zeon uses it as a supply route to A Bao Qu, thus it is guarded by a special unit of MS Snipers called "The Living Dead." All of them have missing limbs and are part of some program where Zeon recycles its injured soldiers as pilots who use a prosthetic limb interface to control their mobile suits. Their ace is Daryl Lorenz who is one of their top snipers and the main Zeon protagonist. Meanwhile, a Federation unit made mostly up of the former inhabitants of Mua are tasked with clearing out the sector and opening a hole in Zeon's supplies. Their attempts to take it are disastrous, but one daredevil pilot named Io Flemming manages to sneak up and hijack one of the sniper's mobile suits which eventually leads in him being entrusted with a Gundam modified with heavy armor and additional boosters to flush out the remainder of Zeon's forces. The second part of the story seems to take place sometime later and a new Gundam is introduced. |

If done well it adds depth to the world, not every single event can spin around the protagonist group. |
Also, Gundam the Origin 3 coming Spring next year. Here's some the teaser image and first trailer:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oFW0aD2YO-...ntitled-46.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0D5dv4hX2I Seeing the red Zaku I in the back makes me think it's probably going to be the best Origin episode yet. As a red Zaku I indicates that the first mobile suit battle ever might occur in this episode. Which is one of my favorite fights in all of Gundam after reading the manga. Yes, it's that good, and I want to see it animated. Now whteher the MS on MS fight is going to be CGI or not... is debatable. I haven't seen either episode yet, but all the CGI I've seen has been the Zakus fighting Federation ships or the Guntank early version so maybe MS on MS fights will be hand drawn? |
