Again, with Vader, I don't get what is inaccurate. The buttons are clearly the ones from ESB/RotJ as the pictures show. How is that inaccurate? Anyway, I'm surprised Broly is such a huge seller. I can't believe that many people are willing to buy a pathetic movie character that had no development whatsoever. Well, whatever, hopefully it will get us Nappa now. |
Thessair has pointed out exactly what is inaccurate, with explanations and pictures as evidence. if you don't see or don't care about them that's fine, same with Double, but these inaccuracies exist.
|
In this particular case... These nitpicks are actually pretty far... This is ROTJ Vader, plain and simple.

Vader, of all characters, is undeniably an incredibly hard character to get "perfect" because his suit changes so much. This is still insanely accurate. There are inaccurate Figuarts like W, and then there is this. They aren't actually that comparable, if you have to go such inane levels to make a case. It's not "perfect" for that, no. But I hardly think you can write it off as not good enough, which would seem to be the intent of this level of analysis. |

So, in short: I actually kind of agree with Kain on this one. Regardless of inaccuracies or no, I actually find myself looking forward to a Star Wars toy in a long time, so as long as we're getting general Figuarts quality here, I'm not complaining. Unless Amiami gyps me the Window, in which case I'm gonna go Operation Knightfall on their offices. |

If the rest of you take issue with what he has to say (even though you asked him to say it, asked him for proof which he provided) then just get over it. You wanted physical evidence of inaccuracy of which there is a mountain, and now you're all dismissing him and getting on his case for doing exactly what you asked of him. So just stop now. The figure IS inaccurate, end of story. If you choose to look over those inaccuracies and buy the figure that's fine. No one says you can't. But requesting proof of the inaccuracies and arguing that the figure doesn't have it's issues despite being provided actual photo evidence, then jumping on the person you asked to do it in the first place, will not go unnoticed. So knock it off now. |
I didn't ask for anything. All I did was provide counter cases, with photo evidence, for why some may not be inaccuracies (notably the belt). Why does that need to be ignored?

Honestly a lot of bad characters are super popular, just look at Kirito from Sword Art Online. |

But yeah, I guess. Just look at Rock Lee. |

I do agree that Broli is a dull and overrated character. It's bad enough that he can go LSSj3 and LSSj4 in Dragon Ball Heroes. |
I like him because he's F____ing huge, and that he's a stand alone character from a movie which makes him more different from the others. Still I think Cooler looks cool too, can't wait to see if they make him also.

I've seen protagonists with more depth, but at the same time, I've seen ones with less. |

http://fs1.directupload.net/images/150109/tghoc3lw.jpg Turns out she was right though. And I know the whole “I don't buy movie-characters” is a rule which the Doctor set for himself, we discussed this with Movie Riders already. But can you really buy any figure of a Dragonball character based on “character development”? You would own like three figures. Maybe that's just me, but I like DB-characters for the design and their ability to kick some serious ass. And if I had already fallen down the rabbit hole that is DB-FiguArts, I would've bought Broly without hesitance. Because he looks awesome and kicks ass. |
Honestly, my no movie rule is not really a rule, but something I'm trying to do to keep myself in denial to prevent myself from spending more money on figures I don't have money or room for. I will admit, the Broly Figuart is kind of cool because of his size. In fact, I do fear that if I see him at B&N I will impulse buy him even though I know I shouldn't.
|
I tend to buy characters I like. If they make any other DBZ movie characters into Figuarts then I would buy Coola's 5th form, Gogeta and Janemba. I would like to see Hirudegarn be made into a figuart or monsterart but that would likely never happen.

Turns out I put my foot in my mouth something fierce :lol I like Broly. He was the first character that Goku straight lost to since, like, Piccolo or something. He wasn't tricked, like against Roshi. He wasn't having a heart attack, like against the androids. It felt like a character finally managed to show that Goku wasn't a walking (Flying) death machine. Hysterically, Broly hits all of my character no-nos (I hate the hyper muscled look; he's so one note that in his sequel, he literally only says, like, 5 words max; he's described as having all the power of an Ultra SSJ, but without any drawbacks, etc etc), but for some reason, I like him. I'd totally impulse buy his SHF if I wasn't broke. |

I've always loved Broly because the Legendary Super Saiyan aspect worked for me. I know he isn't THE LSS but rather has attained the level of a LSS, but I always liked that particular sense of brutality and berserk anger the power gave him. Of all the movei villains besides Cooler, Broly is probably my most memorable and favorite. The others feel entirely one-note to me. |
I like him too, and would totally buy him if I could afford it. Also I just realized that I never really watched the movie (had this weird book that was basically a comic made with screenshots from the movie) and that the movie is almost as old as I am. Damn.
Oh well, maybe the popularity this figure seems to have will give him a reissue someday when I have some more money and space for Dragonball figures. Quote:

As a character, Broly is always someone that, on paper, I should have no reason to like. From physical appearance to his entire goal, to admit I like him would make me seem like a hypocrite. For me, he even left more of an impact than Cooler, because aside from his advanced form, I remember more about DBZA's Cooler than the actual Cooler. |
Well Cooler's just another Freezer, there's really not much to set them apart other than Cooler's stronger and has a 5th form. Oh, and he's purple.
By the way, I'm surprised that there are no FiguArts for the new movies yet. I would totally buy a SHF of Beerus and God Goku and fall in this rabbit hole. |

SHF Beerus would be pretty cool. I'm pretty curious how they'd handle his face, since he's fairly expressive with that muzzle of his...

Yeah, SS God Goku requires a slimmer body.
Beerus (or Beers, as that is what the subtitles and ending credits have his name spelled as) would be awesome. My favorite line in the movie is still "26 minutes huh? That is the average length of one anime episode." BTW, Goku technically lost to Cell. Yeah,he gave up, but he knew he couldn't beat him. |
Whether it requires a slimmer body or not is probably irrelevant. They'd do a quick repaint of a pre-existing figure that meets most of their requirements before they'd create a marginally slimmer new mold to make the figure from.
|
I'm amazed that we still haven't gotten a Kaioken Goku yet.

I take it no one loves Janemba? He may have no character development at all but he is a fun villain to me. I would buy a SHF of him since I love his design.

I wouldn't mind Janemba, as long as he is after Boo (all three of the main forms), King Piccolo, Pilaf, and Tao Pai Pai.
