I'm still trying to decide whether Gaim is top 5 or not.
Hmm...I think he makes it. 1. Blade 2. OOO 3. Double 4. Den-O 5. Gaim This list isn't set in stone, but as it stands now, this is my current list. |

Just out of curiosity, was anyone else hoping/half-expecting a glimpse of the M-BUS or XVII whenever they did that zoom-pan through space?

2. Black 3. Agito 4. W 5. Kuuga 6. Blade 7. Gaim 8. X 9. V3 10. Den-O -ish. The top five are set in stone; 6-10 are more based on how I feel on any given day. |
Oh what the hell, I'll put my rankings up too
1) Gaim 2) Fourze 3) W 4) Ryuki 5) Amazon 6) Blade 7) OOO 8) Black 9) Hibiki 10) Decade Trailing behind in 11th and 12th are Wizard and Kabuto respectively. I'm yet to see the others. |
1- Gaim
2- OOO 3- Den-O 4- W 5- Kabuto 6- Fourze 7- Wizard 8- Decade 9- Blade 10- havent seen any more. |
Well here is mine.
01. W 02. Kuuga 03. Agito 04. Gaim 05. Blade 06. OOO 07. Black 08. Fourze 09. Ryuki 10. Amazon 11. Hibiki 12. Kabuto 13. Wizard 14. Den-O 15. Kiva 16. 555 17. Decade |
Boom.
1. Ryuki 2. Gaim 3. Den-O 4. Decade 5. OOO 6. Kabuto 7. Kiva 8. Blade 9. Wizard 10. Fourze |
1. OOO
2. Gaim 3. Blade 4. W 5. Agito 6. Kiva 7. Hibiki 8. Den-O 9. Wizard 10. Fourze |
Gaim's definitely in my top 10. I'd probably place it around the five, six, or seventh spot.
|
1. Gaim
2. Ryuki 3. OOO 4. Blade 5. W 6. Kabuto 7. Black 8. Faiz 9. Decade |
1. Gaim
2. Ryuki 3. OOO 4. Agito 5. Fourze 6. Faiz 7. Blade I only have a top 7 for now. I haven't watched Kuuga and Black, haven't finished Den-O, don't like what they did to Hibiki halfway through the series, and I don't like Kabuto or Kiva enough to put them on the list. Blade only barely made it onto the top 7. Faiz is there mostly for the fond memories I had watching it in my youth |
Gaim actually managed to push Ryuki out of my top spot. It was that refreshing. Pun intended.
|
I think for me my rankings would be (now granted I only had watched a handful of KRs and still hadn't finished a couple of series but...here it goes):
1. W 2. Fourze 3. OOO 4. Ryuki 5. Kabuto 6. Agito 7. Gaim |
1. Gaim
2. Den-O 3. OOO 4. Fourze 5. W 6. Decade 7. Wizard Still working on Black and V3... |
Mine goes:
1. Gaim 2. OOO 3. Fourze And that's all the shows I've watched to completion right now. |
OOO
Agito Blade Faiz Kuuga Kabuto Kiva Decade X Super-1 Black ZX ZO J Shin Gaim I don't really have a particular order with how they go but definitely feel Gaim is last right now. If the Drive X Gaim movie fixes things sure but I don't think I can rewatch because of the ending causing me such rage and frustration. I'm going to watch the 3 Showa Movies again even to make sure. I love characters from Gaim but not the series. However, when I watched the end of Decade I felt a hollow feeling inside from it but when I watched the Decade part of the W X Decade movie it made up for it and had a great ending for Decade's series and I love the character of Decade, so honestly I have hope the Drive X Gaim movie will salvage Gaim for me and I can place it higher till then I'd rather watch Shin again, and I will watch Shin again lol. I am also in the middle of Black RX right now, I'm not sure where that'll end up though. |
This list is not set in stone. |
1. Gaim
2. Agito 3. Kuuga 4. Kabuto 5. W 6. Den-O Everything else in no order yet 998. Shin 999. Decade 1000. Wizard Gaim is my top Rider show easily. The harder question is how Gaim does against my other top toku series (Sentai, Garo, etc). |
Of what all I've seen beginning to end...
1. Ryuki 2. W 3. 555 4. Gaim 5. Black 6. Agito 7. J 8. Kuuga 9. Shin 10. ZO 11. Blade |
1. Gaim
2. Kabuto 3. Den-O 4. Fourze 5. Wizard |
Damn, I love a list...
Unfortunately, there's a tie for the #1 spot, as I loved both of these shows equally, for totally different reasons... 1. Fourze 1. Gaim 3. Kiva 4. Ryuki 5. OOO 6. Den-O (still in the process of watching, so this may change) I feel like such a Rider Rookie compared to y'all! |
I've only seen a few series from start to finish so here's my "so far but bound to change list"
1) Gaim 2) OOO 3) Fourze 4) Den-O 5) Wizard |
Thus far, for me, we have:
1. Gaim 2. OOO 3. W 4. 555 5. Kiva 6. Kabuto 7. Wizard 8. Fourze Bearing in mind that I've seen little of either Wizard or Fourze yet, and also bearing in mind that I still thoroughly enjoyed Kabuto! |
I think it's time this gets taken to a thread of it's own guys.
This thread needs to get back on track to being about rumors and speculation. |

So what's this about Gaim having the lowest Rider ratings I'm seeing? What happened to the explosion of popularity and sales it had?

It was one of the best shows to us westerners... so it left me confused. |
Not really surprising if it did. It was written by Urobuchi after all, and even if it wasn't as dark as his previous works, it was still a bit detached from the usual tone of Rider.

Also, I still want to see concrete numbers just for my own edification. If it's coming from a place like TV Tropes, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Followed by a bag of rock salt. Quote:

And that's precisely why I included the part about "westerners" before. :) I know tastes can be different, and if past seasons are anything to go by, can easily be 100% opposites, so I was taking that into consideration as possible rationale for why it did "bad." Despite, again, how insane sales were at the start. I know they dropped off, like any show would really, but was it really that badly? |
First off its not entirely Suzus fault. I told her about it before.
Next is that even I´m not at fault since I heard it from Lynxara on several occasions :lol I dont have direct numbers but I trsut Lynxara enough to take her word for it that Gaims toy sales were through the roof but Gaim didnt have the ratings Toei and Asahi wanted from the show. They were nearly as good as shows like OOO or Double that were in direct comparison alot more successful than Gaim was. Some speculate that the low ratings come from Kids not really loving the heavy serialized format. It got too complicated for some of them and if they would miss some episodes it would be very hard to get back into the show. EDIT: Here are some numbers for the first 27 episodes http://herotaku.com/blog/1/entry-123.../#.VDKQGxaraR4 If we go by them than Gaims ratings were a good chunk beneath those of WIzard. |
