I'll give it a go. I've started getting back into reading Marvel earlier this year, so I'm going with my favourites and some that might interest me.

Some pretty solid choices there. I'm not 100% sure as well since my options may change or not, depends on what I like. With Marvel, my choices are usually either: comedy related, magical/mystical related, avengers related, space related, spider-man related, or comedy related comics, but I'm always open to try something different every once in a while

I make my decisions mostly on which characters I wanna read and who writes/draws them. For example I really like Magneto and the writer Cullen Bunn for Uncanny X-Men but wont read it since I cant stand Greg Land as the artist.

That's understandable. Sometimes I'll choose to read something because I've read other works by the same writer and enjoyed them. When it comes to artist, I generally don't mind what their art style is (unless its Greg Land, I cant stand him either) and if I don't like it, I'll deal with it and continue to read it since I'm there for the story not really for how pretty it looks.

For instance (I'll have to go with a writer and artist on a DC Comics series for this example), I like Jeff Lemire's work, especially Animal Man, the two volumes of Justice League Dark he did, Justice League United, and the first volume of Constantine he did. So when he took over for Ann Nocenti for Green Arrow, I thought 'Hey, I'll give it a go. He's one of my favourite writers and Green Arrow is one of my favourite characters". But I don't like Andrea Sorrentino's art style, it's such a weird, bad, and totally different transition from Harvey Tolibao, Freddie Williams II, and Steve Kurth's art styles in the previous two volumes. But I don't really care, I like Jeff Lemire so I continued to read it.

I'm really glad Greg Land was replaced by Javier Rodriguez on Spider-Woman. The art improved SO MUCH.

I can understand your position quite well. But over the years I´ve come to value the art just as much as I do the writing. So I cant get myself to read a good comic with horrible art or a bad comic with brilliant art.

first off, that's being a bit too nitpicky on the casting, I think she can look the part of Elektra.

and she was alright in Retaliation. I can see her pulling off the character.

Yeesh. Daredevil is already filming its second season. Considering the issues that seem to be surrounding Iron Fist, I'm guessing we're getting Daredevil S1 -> Jessica Jones -> Daredevil S2.

WHat issue is surrounding Iron Fist? Plus, I believe Luke Cage is after Jones.

They don't look Asian. That's like casting Johnny Depp to play an indian.

Well, Daredevil and Jessica Jones are filming and Luke Cage hasn't yet so it seems probable that DD season 2 will be released first. I don't see them holding a completed series in the can. They may, but it seems unlikely. I think the original plan may be getting modified.

As for Iron Fist:

Except she doesnt look asian at all. And eve if she was asian, greek is a nationality not a race. She can look whatever she wants and still be considered greek.

So, it seems that 50-year old Marisa Tomei will be Aunt May to 19-year old Tom Holland's Peter Parker. I have zero problems with this casting, honestly.

Yup me too. I liked it in the last Spidey movies that they casted May a bit younger and like it here too. Yes its not "comic accurate" but I think her character works alot better that way.

Also makes her feel more like Petes aunt and not like his Grandma.

I did, when she was in GI Joe. She looks like Jinx to me. She doesn't look like Elektra. On one hand, I trust Marvel's casting because they have done no wrong thus far. On the other, good god I hope she went to acting school after GI Joe.

Having read the Secret Wars Civil War book today my only real complaint is that Leinil Francis Yu absolutely sucks at drawing people with their mouths open :lol

They jsut started filming recently. Probably havent gotten to film those scenes yet.

Watched the leaked Deadpool trailer earlier. Oh man, I really don't wanna hype it but it's so good. One of the funniest trailers I've ever seen! One of my favourite characters ever!! I'll wait to till I see the film but it seems Ryan Reynolds has definitely redeemed himself for that Green Lantern failure.

That trailer is just pure brilliance. Cant wait for a high quality version of it.

Okay, so new thoughts on some reveals now that I have seen better pictures or new things announced:

Cap Am - Looks amazing. Don't care about the alternate head, but I'm for any accessories.
Taskmaster - He seems to be missing his cape, but still look quite good.
Mockingbird - For a character that I just learned about less than a week ago, I'm in love with it.
Spider-Gwen - The alternate head has sold me on it.
Morbius - Can not wait even though it is not my favorite design of his.
Venom - Love the tongue head and I'm not usually a fan of french kissing toys.
Speed Demon - Looks pretty good, but still not sold on him.
Beetle Girl - Meh, weakest of the wave.
Ben Reily - Looks really good, but the best part is it sounds like he includes Spider-Carnage hands and head, which is awesome.
Absorbing Man - Love it. Will probably get the whole wave.
Namor - A must buy. I want to do some Aquaman/Namor pictures.
Onslaught Red Skull - MOst worthless reveal of the entire weekend. They should have given us someone important that is going to be in the actual movie. Hell, Yellow Jacket should have been the BAF since he got gyped for Ultron. The only reason I will own him is because so far I am getting 4 of the 6 figures in the wave.

Wish we would have seen some more classic Spider-Man villains, so hopefully the next wave. I really want to have the original Sinister Six.

The X-Men Apocalypse panel was held yesterday and confirmed that the Movieverse has chosen its Four Horsemen:

Uhg. Just wish the X movies would stop.

I'm not a Marvel Legends guy, but that Venom is fantastic. I was initially a little bit eh about it since Venom without the tongue looks incomplete to me even though that is his classic style, but when they showed the alternate head with the tongue out covered with the green paint that figure became a must-have for me. Really need to get that one and the classic Spider-Man with the pizza slice, so I at least own my favorite super hero and his anti-hero counterpart.

Blade and Squirrel Girl will join All-New All-Different Marvel lineup.

Ryan Reynolds tweeted that official Deadpool footage from SDCC will be released in 3 weeks, due to incomplete VFX Shots. A little disappointing to hear but happy to wait.

I'm cool with them completing the First Class cast movies. First Class and DoFP were such great movies that they deserve to have a finale. The problem is, so far no third movie in a super hero trilogy has been... great.

Anyway,wWe spent the day watching the remaining 12 episodes to season 2 of Shield and they were just as enjoyable as the first half. I'm a little disappointed that Rena is just gone like that, but she was starting to get annoying, so not a total loss. Story wise, I loved it. It was fun, it was action packed, and it had great character development. On the other hand, Ward is still alive. UGH!! I liked what they did with the Inhumans stuff, but I do wish there was at least one or two comic book Inhumans around, like Medusa or something. The only true negative I have is nothing was as unique as the episode TRACKS from season one. Nevertheless, my favorite episode is the one with Sif and the Kree dude. I know I'm repeating myself, but this show does not deserve the hate it does. I am really looking forward to seeing how Season 3 unravels, especially with Civil War happening in the middle of it.
