Thank for let me know! |
Since Hasbro own Power Rangers, how would you feel if Hasbro go nuts and have Power Rangers crossover with Transformers, G.I. Joe and even My Little Pony!
You got a team of giant talking robots teaming up with a team of All-American soldiers & a ninja, a team of magical ponies and a team of spandex-wearing teenagers with attitude! That would be an insane crossover! :lolol |
I think people have been clamouring for Power Rangers x Transformers ever since Hasbro got the license, and I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a crossover bigger and crazier than that!

If Hasbro have no problem with Transformers crossover with MLP, I don’t see why they can’t do a Transformers crossover with Power Rangers. |

I doubt Saban really cares about the franchise seeing that he has more to his belt than PR. The guy is also a politician (He is political player, particularly in Israeli and U.S. relations), he probably has bigger things to worry about.

I don't care if some of you don't like Disney Era, Neo-Saban Era is definitely the worst Power Rangers era for me. Gokaiger is a better anniversary show than Megaforce. (Captain Marvelous is more charismatic than Troy!) |

It's worth noting that the Disney Era isn't near as bad as people made it out to be! The fandom as a whole was looking for nostalgia and couldn't see the Disney Seasons for what they themselves were worth. While I tried giving the Neo-Saban Era a pass, it's just honestly difficult to do at times. However, I have ALWAYS wanted to do a Megaforce/Super Megaforce continuation season! I know that's a controversial thought, but there was so much from Gokaiger which was brutally excised from Super Megaforce. I've wanted to see Andrew reprise his role of Troy and offer some degree of explanation for his dreams and for that Alata-ripoff he did when curing Robo Knight. Give the actor some decent material and we can see some of the magic that Megaforce blundered! Personal Head-Canon Time: Troy would be revealed to be a Child of Eltar, like Zordon, who was raised on Earth. His older brother, who would also be played by Andrew, was a member of the Original Megaforce Team trained by Gosei, but that team betrayed Gosei and took to piracy. When the Pirate Team is injured and put into stasis in a manner similar to Zhane, their powers are used by the Earth Megaforce Team, hence "Super Megaforce". A continuation season would see the Pirate Team reawakened from stasis and use "Super Megaforce" Power and face some of the unused Gokaiger villains, especially an adapted Basco! |

Majority of the cast including Cameron Jebo and Ciara Hanna HATED working on Megaforce show and their biggest criticism was that they practically begged to do more than fight scenes but were shot down every time. They also says the lack of effort was a pervading thought from the producers. Whenever an actor or writer brought up something they felt didn't make sense, they would be told "Who cares? The audience is five years old." (Facepalm) Apparently, Jonathan Tzachor forbade the writers from expanding upon the characters, and outright rejected many of the ideas that was probably 10 time better than his ideas. Hell! They were immensely disappointed with the Legendary War, with Cameron saying "it does not deserve to belong on a Power Rangers boxset" and Ciara Hanna says the only episode that was put more effort than the Legendary War was the Filler episode The Perfect Storm, where Tensou was wandering around the city and she call that episode, "Tzachor’s baby"........ Are you FUCKING kidding me?! If Shinichiro Shirakura have his western counterpart, that would be Jonathan Tzachor. Megaforce would have been an awesome season if weren’t for this guy! God! I’m so glad that Hasbro buys Power Rangers franchise! |

I seriously feel bad for the Megaforce cast. Ciara Hanna and Cameron Jebo still loves the franchise so there's that. And it's just sad seeing Andrew Gray actually being a human outside. Also, I don't want to be a negative nancy, but be cautiously optimistic about Hasbro owning Power Rangers. Back when Saban brought back I was beyond excited because they seem to care about Power Rangers more than Disney was....... and look how it turned out. It made me hated the Power Rangers TV series. I just worry if the RyuSoulger adaptation is gonna be the same like Beast Morphers because that would mean Hasbro era is just Neo-Saban era with different owner..... and good writing I'd give them that. But still, it still has that Neo-Saban aesthetics that I despise so, SO much. |

Like how Wild Force have Saban aesthetics before Disney brought the franchise. |
So does anyone on this board actually like Power Rangers in general or is it just me? Cause from what I've seen on my time here so far is y'all like to complain alot.
|
I liked RPM! I'm also enjoying the Boom comics!
|
I thought that Saban would bring back he's old saban era aesthetic in the neo-saban era.

There are also some tokusatsu fans who prefer Super Sentai over Power Rangers. More a personal preference issue there. It's the Comics that seem to being doing the most good for the franchise right now, as BOOM! clearly has their head in the game, even if they are in fact contributing to that glut of Mighty Morphin'! The toys are another detail to consider, as the Lightning Collection is Hasbro's best material for the franchise so far. The Beast Morphers toys are suffering from distribution issues and many aren't as good as we were hoping they would be. We aren't getting Transformers-level quality here, and it shows. When it was originally announced that Hasbro would be doing the toys for a Go-Busters Adaptation in 2018, there were many who were ecstatic cause we thought that Hasbro's engineering with Transformers would translate to good toys, but the final result is leaving us a little bummed. They aren't devoting enough to the franchise yet, though it is possible that the franchise hasn't turned a profit for Hasbro yet either to justify a larger investment. There is also some concern with the fact that Hasbro will be adapting Ryusoulger, another Dino Team, as opposed to something like Kyuranger, a Space Team. The LEGO-like construction for Ryusoulger Dinos don't help inspire a lot of confidence regarding toys. That being said, the Ryusoulger Adaptation has the potential to have a more evident Hasbro imprint than Beast Morphers has shown! Another aspect that has long plagued the franchise is whether the Power Rangers Adaptation should be a copy-and-paste of the Sentai it's based-off of or whether it should take liberties and add more P. R. elements not derived from the source material! It remains to be seen what Hasbro will ultimately decide to do on that front. As it stands, those who do want to see the franchise succeed are gonna have to be a little patient and find the love and things to love when and where they can. Some in the fandom are feeling a strain and wonder how things will get better, assuming that the possibility still exists. I don't see the franchise ending in entirety just yet. Every time it looks like we have seen the last, something changes and keeps it going. Personally, I intend to keep going for better or worse. One day this might get a little better. |
While I can see where some of the complaints are coming from, what it mostly seems like to me from both here and on other sites is alot of people basically want the styles of the darker seasons like Time Force and RPM over and over. Because that worked so well for the awful 2017 movie, right?
Here's the thing with me though. Yes, those are good seasons, and they certainly have their place in the franchise, but what I personally always loved about PR in general was its variety. So would I like to see a more serious season like Time Force again? Absolutely, but I just don't understand those who are like "Oh, this season has silly kid humor? Burn it." Like, no joke, Ninja Storm is one of my favorite seasons, because it embraced its sillier nature and totally nailed it, making it really unique amongst alot of other seasons ontop of being enjoyable to watch. Yes, the Neo-Saban Era(like every era) has its issues, but even then each season does have its own merits and its own bit of personality to it. Yeah, I agree it's the weakest of the three established Eras, but acting like it's some of the worst TV ever? Yeeeaaahh, no, I've seen alot worse(again, I'm not singling out this board on this). Maybe it's just that I see the franchise through a very different lens as someone who legitimately loves Season 1 of MMPR, not just because "it's the first" like alot of naysayers will claim, but because it's absolutely insane and incredibly fun to watch. Or maybe I'm just super easy to please, take your pick. Oh, and I also never got the whole argument on "Sentai vs PR" and whether or not it mattered how similar the two are. I've personally always judged every season on its own merit, rather than trying to directly compare it to anything else. Whether or not its a copypaste season legit means nothing to me(it's also hypocritical of the fanbase considering Time Force is 90% Timeranger but whatever). |
Oh, the last thing I want is dark seasons over and over and over, though I'd hardly call RPM 'incredibly dark'. I just want a good show, and of what I've seen RPM is the only Power Rangers show that fits that bill. It's also the earliest Power Rangers show I've seen, and I have heard good things about the likes of Dino Thunder and Lost Galaxy, but those are pretty far down on my watch list.
I'm not putting down the show for any of the reasons just listed. I just continue to find nothing in Power Rangers that impresses me. |

I don't care about lighter or darker seasons. People mostly named Time Force and RPM as their favorites because it's the most popular seasons. Which is sad because there tons of good PR seasons like Lightspeed Rescue, Ninja Storm and Jungle Fury.
Idk, Power Rangers has the potential to succeed and be greater, it's just they didn't really take that chance. Yeah the 2017 movie failed to bring in new audiences, but that's also because itnhas severe flaws. If they just had the same tone as the 'post-Zordon era' and Disney, light or dark, then it'll be fine. Because FFS all Neo-Saban did was trying too hard to be like MMPR, it feels dated even if you have modern day stuff. |
The funny thing is, there's actually a lot about the 2017 movie I do like. Tonally and aesthetically there's too many issues to list, but they actually bothered with character building and relationships and some form of development. There's actual, like, arcs here and an attempt at a cohesive story.
It gave an attempt at modernising Power Rangers rather than relying too much on the 90s, and... granted, yes, it took that too far and drove off the cliff; but the likes of Ninja Steel and Beast Morphers don't even start the car. |

For example, the scene where Brody and Levi discover who Levi really is is really well done. Sure, the twist itself is obvious, but the way it was carried was fantastic. Compare to say, Tyler's' relationship with his dad in Dino Charge, wherein not only is the twist obvious and not given much fanfare, but Tyler's' dad proves himself to be an out and out terrible father afterward, making me wish he'd just stayed gone. |

Even in Beast Morphers, I was actually enjoying the series, but whenever they shifted to Ben and Betty, that hatred came back. Don't get me wrong, comic reliefs are essential, but they need to be natural. Like Cassidy and Devin, or Piggy. Idk man. I still love the concept of Power Rangers, but I really want to be able to fully enjoy the current series again. It's just right now I bitched extra because of the fear that RyuSoulger is going to be the same, instead of a drastic change that's seen in Ninja Storm, in a good way of course. |
I understand the fear based on stuff I've heard, but all I can really say is "wait and see." Saban is totally gone now, so I imagine Hasbro will do something atleast moderately unique for... whatever they decide to call the Ryusoulger adaptation.
As things stand now it seems like their plan for PR as a franchise is to have the show itself continue to be aimed at new sets of 10 years olds every two years, while having stuff like the comics and bonus things like Hyper Force be aimed at the older crowd who grew up with the series as a whole. And while I can't speak for Ben and Betty(due to waiting for season 2 of BM to wrap up before I binge the whole show), I dunno, I found Victor and Monty to actually be genuinely funny most of the time. Are they as good as Bulk and Skull? Nah, but those are some hard shoes to fill. Maybe I just love childish humor. |

A cute little article on the ceaseless popularity and 'campy fun' of Power Rangers in general.

I hope Hasbro improve the fight choreography.

Happy 20th Anniversary, Titanium Ranger

I had no problem with the rescue train, It was pretty cool and first of his kind.
|
I think the next comic relief duo should be the black and green rangers who act serious as rangers but funny unmorphed as a cover.

Although maybe that's just how kids shows roll these days. I mean I wanna say that Ben 10 original thru Omniverse is what kids shows done right, but I heard the new series is basically aiming at even younger audience so maybe that's that |
Quote:
Am I saying that they're super sophisticated and what every kid show should aim to be? No, but they do serve their purpose. The quality of which is of course, subjective. Heck, even if Saban behind closed doors decided "Hey, let's make the series be aimed at 5-year olds again" I personally wouldn't mind. I try to just enjoy the ride for what it is. |
