I used to not like the wings and royal demigodhood, then various canon sources made it stop being a shark jumping. Plus, there was this: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7aA4gtCFQsw |

The elevation of Twilight makes her less relatable. It's harder to project yourself onto her because her problems are undermined because now she's royalty (For fixing a problem she set in motion, strangely...) Oh, and what the hell? Starswirl made so many spells he has an entire section devoted to him in the Royal Canterlot Library, including a spell that allows the user to travel through time, and he gets nothing, but Twilight finishes one spell he started to create, and she gets coronated? Equestria might be a bit sexist :p |

And on Starswirl, I'd say Twilight's mind was more plastic than his when it comes to things like achieving royal status and cosmic powers. Think about it, Celestia said it was his LAST spell and that he didn't understand friendship like Twilight. Now, recall that Clover the Clever had Starswirl as a teacher in the time before Celestia and Luna's rule. This implies that Starswirl was an ancient Mage that had his whole life revolve around magic, like Twilight, but that he was a professional at it and was quite famous. Thus, it's safe to say he probably had friends, but they were more like scientific colleagues than buddies you go and drink cider with on a Friday night. As such he most likely only discussed magic, with magic users, in magic related settings for a long time. So when his life's twilight (see what I did there?) drew close he started on his magnum opus. But it required knowledge on friendship's magic. He tried to use his understanding of friendship, but it didn't work and he was to old and set in his old "friends=superiors, colleagues, assistants and students" ways to change his viewpoint. Then came Twilight, possibly endowed by the Element of Magic itself to understand the Magic of Friendship better than even Pinkie "Fourze" Pie. Every time she learned about friendship in any situation, she gained more knowledge than others would in that situation, as if she had an EXP. Multiplier active. Thus, when Celestia saw Twilight was ready to fulfill her destiny, she sent Twilight Starswirl's Last Spell. |

Oh and the part where Applejack puts her hat back on durin the weddin, I cracked up. I mean that is exactly what I would do, not wear it the whole time, but when nobody is lookin, put my hat on :D |

After hearing that it was originally going to be a standalone episode about how "People grow up and change, and you have to accept that" I'm so glad we got the Changeling plot and all that :lol |
There are like 4 (5 with mine included.) MLP Sentai stories being written on Fim fiction at the same time. XD

But, if that's what breaks your friendship, then he was never a worthy friend to begin with, as far as I'm concerned. |

They're just designed that way.
They're G-rated succubi, not insects. Hell, outside of their wings, they share nothing in common with insects. And no, until confirmed as such, I don't believe the "Chrysalis gave birth to all of them" fan theory people push to force a connection to insects, as the Changelings are capable of thought, breaking the tenuous connection to being mindless drones a la insects. |
So...the dude making my bling bag Wizard is doing a giveaway for a blind bag scale Discord...

Idea that showed up in my head earlier for Harmoranger.
>Harmony Blue saves human Scootaloo. >Scootaloo goes gaga for Harmony Blue getting a poster of her for her locker. I haven't actually written anything for this yet i just thought i'd share it. |
You're still trying to structure your story as if it's being presented through a visual medium, not a written one.

Why do you need any filler?
It's a story, not a TV show. |

Filler isn't needed in the slightest. Filler is used to pad out the length of the work to make it seem longer than it actually is. Filler is used by TV shows to fit a 35 episode story into the run time of 49 episodes. Using it as a "Breather" is a nebulous point. It's still a story. The breather is the space between chapter 9 and chapter 10. You ruin pacing and flow if you go from having Character X kill Character Y, but then decide "Well, that was too intense. We need to have a quick break." Then dedicate the next chapter to a inconsequential side character that has no bearing on the events just to give the audience a break is meaningless. Once again, you're trying to treat it as if it's a TV show and chapters need "Breather episodes" every once and a while. Using filler as verisimilitude might work, but then it runs the risk of being excessive. You set yourself up for readers asking "What's the point of this?" when you describe a character's morning routine, then travel to work, then their work day in full, just to pad out the story length. |
