I was pretty certain he killed her. He shot a beam at her, it enveloped her, she screamed, close-up of his face looking remorseless. I feel that if she survived, they would've shown her. It was definitely a Moral Event Horizon.

Goseiger episode 2: Lets brainwash them, that'll make it better! :)

I'm from the UK, so I was brought up on as many American products as I was UK ones and as I grew up, I watched films from all over the world. All I know is the opening episode of Go-Busters felt cheaper than other Sentai I've watched. I mean in a sense DekaRanger looked shittier but it came out like ten years earlier. It was largely down to the special effects and sets, I can largely ignore the cardboard weapons and rubber monsters, it's how it's always been but that opening episode replaced as much of the practical stuff as it could with CGI and green screens but I've seen better quality CGI in Sentai years before this series. |
My problem with Go-Busters wasn't that it looked cheap.
But that it was just a bore to watch. I can deal with cardboard boxes and meh CG if the actors and script can sell them, but GB just couldn't. |
I actually thought the mech fight was really fun in the opening episode, I loved how they showed shots through the cockpit window so it actually didn't just seem like some dude in a suit, although we all know it was.
That aside though, meh. |
I'm not denying the mech scenes aren't fun.
But I just wasn't as enthralled by them. |

I admittedly haven't seen a lot of sentai.
Saw DekaRanger and I liked it way more than SPD. I liked Shinkenger but then I found it really lost its way in the middle and become mind numbingly boring and a chore to get through, especially since Sentai gets like twenty more episodes than most Power Rangers seasons. I watched Kyoryuger, I thought it was awful. I watched Jetman and I really, really like it. I watched DaiRanger and the opening episode is one of the worst things I have ever watched so I never went back to it. |

They are similar in the sense they are all about like martial arts and play out like old Kung Fu movies but that is where their similarities end from what I've seen. |
People complained about JF?
Seriously? RJ is pretty much Power Rangers' (Not just JF's, but PR as a whole) Ensemble Darkhorse. |

Finished Liveman Episode 3 and a fantastic episode for Live Yellow who is becoming one of my favorite Sentai warriors so far. I love this story right now.
|
I'm waiting for episode 12 of Kyoryuger to be uploaded to Youtube.

I love Jungle Fury because despite all the criticisms it had against it that it was 'going through the motions', it has some of the most complex and just all round good characters that I've seen in Power Rangers for years. And coming straight from Dino Thunder, it's nice to see stories followed through to the end for once. |

AND a Power Ranger. AND a martial arts master. I don't know how you can hate that much awesome. |
You forgot that he owns a pizzeria. That trumps them all :D

Well, 12 episodes into Kyoryuger, so 1/4 of the way done (More or less).
So, at the current moment, I'll rank it as 5th favorite Sentai, which is prone to change as things go on and as I watch other Sentai. 1. Gekiranger 2. Dekaranger 3. Kakuranger 4. Goseiger 5. Kyoryuger It seems that every time it takes a step forward, it takes two steps back and, just before I'm about to stop watching, it takes another step forward and pulls me back in again. So, yeah. It's doing fine, but the gimmicks are killing things for me. |
Wait so is episode 12 worth watching then? I saw some gifs of Amy in her suit and glasses and God damn.
Or is it still just made up entirely of poo jokes and awful plotting and characterisation? |

It's a different beast, but Utsusemimaru is really selling the show for me. |
Meh I didn't care for him, I guess it isn't worth me picking it back up then.

His fights are fun, albeit he is extremely overpowered.
Everything else I could care less for. |
I just enjoy him overall. He's the KR Beast of this series, in a sense, subverting his normal character archetype while being fun and interesting to watch.
So yeah, come episode 20, he'll probably get old, but at the moment, I like what I see. |

So because 3 minutes of one episode made poo jokes you say it has awful plotting? While I cannot say I like the way they are treating the gold ranger, the plotting has been well done thus far and we have gotten some good character development. More has happened in this show's 11 episodes than Go-Buster did in 50. Is it the greatest Sentai show ever? No. However, it is a very enjoyable one and better than most of the crap we have gotten in the last 10 years. It is already superior to the likes of Go-On, Gosei, and Shinken. Locke, Wizard is awesome. Not as good as W or Fourze, but vastly superior to OOO and I mostly liked OOO. It does have a slow start, but that is just how most of the KR series work these days until the second rider appears, then things get moving. My only real problem with the show is how lackluster Koyomi is. After episode 4, she serves no purpose and should have been killed off month's ago. I know people complain about Haruto's characterization, but honestly, sure, it isn't deep, but he reminds me a lot of the riders from the Showa days. Those riders never really received too much development outside of the "Oh woe is me, I am a cyborg or something, so I must fight evil" either. I mean, I Kotaro is my favorite rider, but he is exactly the same character in episode 51 that he is in episode 2. |

Not to mention that pretty much every aspect of the show is rushed to the point where it has no meaning. I don't think this show is better than Shinkenger at all and I have no idea why everyone is bumming it so hard. So should I jump in with Wizard then? I was told to start with W but I watched the first ten episodes and wasn't feeling it, I've been looking for a way in ever since. |
I don't know if I like Shinkenger or Kyoryuger better! They're really, really different and I really enjoyed Shinkenger and am really enjoying Kyoryuger.
Which established enemy are you referring to with "defeated with a terrible joke"? Nobody immediately springs to mind but its not the first time you've mentioned it, am I forgetting something? |

Then the next episode he was defeated by a gag and I was just like, 'oh, that was pointless'. |
