I honestly like the idea of the other team members utilizing the gimmick through the guns.
We haven't had that since X and the Kaiju Cards whenever they'd use them via the vehicles. So I'm kind of hoping that's the case here with the gun and the keys. |

Ultraman Z is nominated for the Seiun award. A sort of best science fiction award.
Ultraman Z is on the left. Look for letter D. |

Looks like we're getting another Ultraman Manga, Darkness Heels Lili!
https://tokusatsunetwork.com/2021/04...arkness-heels/ Honestly, looks pretty exciting! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. |
Scans have revealed that there will be Monster Hyper Keys. The ones pictured were Zettpn, Eleking and Gomora.
And toy sample pics not only showed a Captain Scarlet-esque airbase that seems to have some transformation abilities, but that the Trigger Spark Lens will come in packaging designed to homage the original Spark Lens. |
I've been watching a little bit of Ultra Q lately, and can I just say it is kind of amazing? The effects look great even now, and the whole Twilight Zone but with Daikaiju angle is really interesting! No wonder everyone loves Tsuburaya. I've been really pleased with it so far, so it wasn't as weird of a choice for my first Ultraman show as I was fearing it might be.

Honestly, any Tokusatsu Kaiju media is something I crave, so I hope there's more down the line. I do know there's going to be one by Toei about people cleaning up after a Kaiju attack. |
The way I define the OG Ultra Q is that it is X-Files set in 1960s Japan with a little bit of the 1950s Twilight Zone sprinkled on top.

Finished Tiga. The first official Heisei-era Ultra. In some way you could see it as a reboot of the first Ultraman. It's back to one mysterious Ultra being and GUTS is pretty much and updated SSSP. The series also brought back a proper transformation device that doesn't require will power nor does it blink at random to signal the transformation and it is done the same way the Beta Capsule was. The one big difference here is Daigo being a chosen one instead of getting killed by the Ultra and share his life with the host to resurrect him.
Tiga is a back-to-basis Ultra. He uses martial arts and beam attacks instead of handheld weapons or magic bracelets. This series is also what introduced transformations and multiple forms which I'm 50/50 on it. On 1 hand it makes variety, on the other hand, more toys to sell. The practical effects, models and suits are of course a big improvement over the Showa era, but the chroma key and CGI scenes did not age well and looks very flat and fake looking. The fighting is still needs to get used to. This is my first Heisei series coming straight from the Showa era, and sadly I wasn't that hooked to the Heisei choreography. I got so used to fast Showa action that the Heisei action looks and feels too slow in comparison. Another thing I didn't like was the generic anime and mecha sound effects. The writing was more balanced here. It's not overly dark but not too kiddified either. However I did notice it had a habit of tragic endings. Lots of characters ended up dead instead of living with their friends and families with more sympathetic monsters. I don't have bad episodes as I thought it was consistently good. There were weird ones but nothing to call terrible. Favorite episodes: 16-The Demon's Return 17-The Battle Between Red and Blue 27-I Have Seen Obiko 32-The Defense of Zelda Point 36-A Smile Across Space and Time 38-Mirage of a Monster 44-Inheritance of Darkness 49-The Ultra Star Favorite monsters: Golza, Gakuma, Sealizer, Evolu, Sakunaoni, Magnia, Weaponizer, Silvergon, King Molerat, Shiela, Bakugon, Guardie, Gijera, Obikoboushi. Favorite aliens: Reguran, Stande,l Enomena, Dinosauroid, Iludo, Menjura. |
But would you say it took you higher?

Can someone point me in the direction of good translation lyrics to Fusion Rise from Geed?

Ultraman Cosmos has begun weekly streaming on YouTube (I don’t know what they’ll do for those episodes that never aired on TV)
https://youtube.com/watch?v=t5tWJya2CzY Now I don’t remember much about this series (I certainly couldn’t describe it in vivid detail of asked), but it does have a pretty hype first transformation. |
Oh shoot!! This is actually full weekly episodes unlike Dyna? That... works out so well for me. Granted the subs are good, that is; can anyone confirm these are better than honshin and olnefolk?
|
We're getting 2 episodes a week even! I haven't seen anything Cosmos except for his cameos in more recent things, so I'll be checking it out. The subtitles seem fine based on what I saw skipping through it.
More Trigger stuff, "A cool beauty who looks great in glasses". It's interesting that we're getting more transforming robots in Ultraman. The GUTS Falcon looks pretty cool. |

Anyone know when this month the memorial Z-riser comes out?
edit: wait, never mind, didn't know it was june |
The Captain for Trigger will be played by Katsuya Takagi (the human Juran from the Zenkai Red special)
|
Been watching Tiga. Just finished episode 26. Pretty funny ep. Great action especially Tiga POWERBOMBING THE MONSTER AND SPIKING IT ON ITS HEAD in order to plant it in the grounds. Shit was wild. I got so hype, I had to watch it back a couple of times lol
|
I like Cosmos so far! It's neat seeing protecting Kaiju being as important as blowing them the fuck up like in other shows. Also I think Team EYES uniforms are snazzy.

You know what? What the heck, I'm gonna buy tickets and do this!
I'm sure all of this will be reuploaded on "those sites" eventually, but Tsuburaya has been doing an excellent job with distributing its shows and I gotta support that. |
Easy pass for now, I don't find Sevenger that appeal- shot

https://scontent-lcy1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...b4&oe=60DB3822 https://scontent-lcy1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...a0&oe=60DA73E9 Finally, a proper look at the new Dark Giants. |
Tiga’s first monster will be a hybrid creature known as “Golba” (or as I call it, the Tiga purist’s Five King)
https://www.facebook.com/11177898226...5786264535355/ Also, it turns out Trigger is the Mars based equivalent to Tiga, at least from what I can discern from the other translations this guy provides. |

More scans showing the Dark Giants and the first Kaiju, Golbar

Ah here we go, the quirky mini-boss squad. This'll be fun to see since there's three of them.
Still curious to see how this'll go, I'm still honestly not sold on Trigger just because it looks so much like Tiga 2 and well, I could care less for Tiga? So we'll see. |
Loving everything I see so far, the suits, the cast, we even got a space pirate!
I'll admit, I haven't finished Tiga, which shames me to this day, but I love how faithful the dark trios' designs are while still integrating some new features. |
So Kei Hosogai who played Basco in Gokaiger will play the mysterious young man named Ignis, a treasure hunter. *sniff sniff*I smell a Juggler clone.
