This is pretty much the same thing that happened with Gokai Christmas. There was a scramble to order them initially. But most everyone who wanted it got orders in for it. And they eventually became easier in to find on the secondary market. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Now that the Figuarts are starting to come out is anyone else considering selling their AC stuff eventually? I don't have my Gaim and Baron in hand yet but I've been thinking of how I pretty much have every Gaim Figuarts with an AC equivalent I own on preorder. Plus space is always an issue, just a thought that crossed my mind I was wondering if anyone else felt.

Yeah, I still kind of need an AC Gaim. Sapporo has one up for 2000, but I don't have it in me to make a full 5000+ order right now.
|
I have all the AC's plus some extras for more display and I really really enjoy them. I might sell some of them but overall I'll be keeping a majority of them.

Not that it isn't the most abundant one, but I have a Kachidoki Arms AC for sale if anyone needs it.

Some new pics from the Tokyo Toy Show are up. This one looked interesting:
http://www.heroshock.com/wp-content/.../06/6Gb8zy.jpg Kiwami looks better than I thought it would and apparently keeps full AC functionality. |
Kiwami looks really nice, the figure alone looks really solid, I wonder how it pulls off the cast off gimmick, usually figures like that look bulky because of gimmick bits but kiwami comes off looking rather slick like a normal AC figure. Also they nailed the cape, NAILED IT!

Which is sort of disappointing, but I'd rather have something new (Kachidoki shell) than a glorified weapons pack. |
Well hot damn! Guess I'll have my work cut out for me doing the full Arms Changes in the eventual Kiwami gallery.

Dang they look sweet, hopefully the markup on them won't be too bad. Got a fresh pine lockseed today, anyone else find it very hard to close once open?

It just came to mind at peach the female rider we had in show and not movie exclusive

Got my SHF Gaim today. Little bit disappointed.
The detail and paint is gorgeous, and from afar or on my shelf, he looks really great. Up close though all the stickers in the place of actual paint looks really cheap and obvious and then when you pick him up you'll be shocked at the light, cheap feeling plastic. I much prefer the weight and solidity found in the ACs, and they may lack the refined paint of the SHF but they also lack those awful looking stickers. |

That said, to each their own. We all look at figures from different perspectives. I personally think it has a nice heft to it with all the plastic used for the armor. Almost comparable to figures blessed with diecast feet because of it, honestly. While the plastic used isn't thick, durable "play toy" material like I assume the AC figures are, (I wouldn't know, seeing as I don't own any) it's about on par with the Figuarts standard. |
Got my first Arms Change figure today and it was none other than Duke! Have to say, it is nice to have an action figure that you're not afraid will break on you if you use a little too much force. Definitely lots of fun!

One thing that has turned me off of figuarts for the most part is that they may be beautiful, but they aren't toys. I'm afraid they're going to break when I handle them and I've heard stories about broken wrist pegs etc. I personally like toys to be toys, the more accurate they look, the better, but I still want to be able to play and futz with them without worrying about needing to buy a replacement.

And here's your clear shot of AC Kiwami Arms, wearing Orange Arms. Looks like the pointy tip of his hat at least sticks around. But it would seem the cape and chest/shoulder panels are removed to accommodate this.

Plus there are figuarts who have that "play toy" thickness, one thing I love about the Ryuki Figuarts is the sense of weight when you pick them up. Makes them feel more expensive, ironically, even though greater weight is usually related to cheaper toys. |
Personally, the Gaim figuarts have a fair bit of weight to them. The only ones I have that feel heavier are the Ryuki figures and my Skull Crystal, but to be fair, those both have die casts.
Really, if any figuarts I've held felt 'light', it'd be the Blade ones. |

I just opened Gaim and shot a gallery of him overnight, and I must say it's one of the mos exquisite Figuarts I've ever handled. It's just a gorgeous toy. |

I don't think the stickers look bad in the least... And I honestly never expected details that small to be possibly painted as accurately as a little decal could do.

Plus, you look at stuff like ZyuRed's sword and stuff, where clearly proved they could do microdetails so I dunno what the deal is with Gaim. But again, like anything with Gaim, it's critically bulletproof and must be mindlessly praised and sacrificed too. |

Got my Gaim and Baron Figuarts today! My initial thoughts:
-These first run bonus parts are huge! I don't know if I have room for them which is a shame. -The lock seeds won't stay on the belt, why couldn't they have just made swappable drivers? -Ball joint wrists are scary -So so pretty |
