A lot of OG Digimon are game characters, so I guess they'd all be fair game.

Digimon started a virtual pet toy in the vein of Tamagotchis on June 26, 1997. The first Digimon came out on the Sega Saturn on September 23, 1998 and the anime came out on March 7, 1999. Digimon in Smash is possible, but I doubt it unless Namco Bandai wants to promote Adventure Tri.

I hope we know the full story behind Cloud soon. There are rumors that it was Sakurai idea and there is other rumors that Square Enix wanted Cloud in the game.

I don't see Banjo being any more likely. A Microsoft employee stating he'd like to see it happen isn't the same as having MS backing and there's no way they'd allow it without getting something major out of it themselves.

I'll be pretty disappointed if the majority of characters from here on are third party, but Cloud is a pretty decent one as far as they go. He's from a very iconic franchise and he's easily the most well known character from it to boot. Seems pretty fun to play as, so yeah. At least it isn't more Fire Emblem characters.

I really hope Smash will keep on getting more support in 2016. I don't see Smash 5 coming out until 2020 or 2021. So I want them to support this game as much as they can.

so there's no primary main character for KoF, but Terry doesn't hail from KoF, he hails from Fatal Fury.

I'm aware that Terry is a Fatal Fury character.
I'm just saying that Terry is a more recognizable face from either franchise, far more than Kyo or AoF's Ryo.

The Death Battle series, they've had some fights people found were bullshit. Like Cloud vs Link. Cloud's addition to Smash allows for people to "fix" Death Battles' "mistake".
