That is a bit harder to say though when like... everything is Premium Bandai. If it was back in the day when you could pick up Magnet States or Hurricane Style, sure; but you're literally never even seeing these unless you're already in the know and logging into an exclusive website to get a limited figure for at least 70 dollars

It's part of the changing times, I suppose. Kamen Rider is getting bigger and/or the demand for figures are even bigger, and Premium Bandai is basically their band-aid for their target demographic to get these figures. Even though sometimes it doesn't work as things like Delta Rise or Gamma Future sell out within seconds.

Back then you could just, yes, simply pick up whatever figures you want, but nowadays, if you don't have official distribution and have to go to places like Amiami, it's a struggle to even get it to load. Even official distribution out here is now dodgy, like when I was told my SHF Blades' stock was cut off so I had to grab a pre-owned one on Amiami, or waithing months on end for a seller to have their stock while others already do.

You also gotta keep in mind that when alternate forms WERE made available at retail, they over-saturated. You can still find some alternate Fourze states and Ex-Aid Lvl 5s are slash and burn prices in some places cause most people at retail would pick the base form first.

Making alternate forms as exclusives, imo, makes sense. Does it suck that if you don't lock an order in you'll be at the mercy of the aftermarket? Yes. But based on past experiences, it makes sense from a financial angle.

I still greatly prefer PB figures to retail. I never want to go through th hell I had to to get Dark Kiva or Shadow Moon again.

in the abstract i'd probably agree with them changing focus, but then we'd be living in a world where zerozeroone doesn't get the figure it deserves and I can't abide by that.

It's worth keeping in mind, as well, that there were nowhere near the amount of other SHF lines back during the W, OOO and Fourze days. No MCU, Star Wars, barely any Dragon Ball characters not named Goku, Vegeta or Piccolo; it was leaner times so Kamen Rider got more slots.

There's nothing stopping them from putting out final forms other than just... deciding not to put them out. They've been sat on Mugen and Genius for a LONG time now, for example; if they wanted them out by now, they'd be out. Bandai are a weird company, but presumably there's some method to the madness here, and I don't think getting things like Metal Cluster or Dragonic Knight are the issue.

To be fair those level 5 forms for the Ex-Aid riders sucked and even the full dragon form wasn't all that imo....story-wise I liked but I would of much prefer their level 3 forms as figuarts

I mean Hasbro has no say in the Seihou line. These are Japanese releases of Sentai characters. They can be made, but can't be sold domestically here unless Hasbro decides to work alongside it by adding PR labels to them like Saban allowed.
