But you really can't count it as a break.
Since JAKQ and GoRanger wasn't Super Sentai until Ohranger (Was it Ohranger that first counted those two as Sentai?), Super Sentai had technically been playing continuously since '79.

I reckon so. OK then, it doesn't count as that major a break.

I'm not sure when Goranger and JAKQ got grandfathered in, but 1996 sounds about right.
