If they are trying to copy Marvel Legends, then they are failing miserably. The ML figures come with the accessories that are necessary for the character. They come with additional hands and sometimes even additional heads. Considering that all of the male rangers are the same body minus the helmets, there is no excuse for them to not include the same. If they can't be bothered to give them additional hands, then give them unmorphed heads.

So, I saw the MMPR Green Ranger at Target today. It actually looked pretty nice. The abs aren't nearly as off-putting in person (but that could be due to the presence of the armor balancing it out), it was a good size (bigger than the standard figures and bigger than Figuarts) and looked very high quality, with lots of articulation. It didn't have a BAF piece, but it did come with two weapons, replacement hands, and a holster for the zyusouken (Idk the American name). I almost bought it, but decided against it for a few reasons. However, if I see some of the other ones at a store, I might pick up the MMPR team.

The ninja storm rangers got a much better accessories deal I think then the mmpr. It would've been nice to just get the sword and the sheath for it, but sword and sheath with sword is still better than holster mode blade blaster and holster. Frankly this could be rectified in future releases by including either the signature weapons, or even a blade blaster in a functioning mode, and/or maybe an extra set of hands. And if they wanted, they could re release red ranger with the extra parts later down the road. I really don't want to see this line end, even though mmpr is pretty much my only interest. A lot of people want to see their favorite rangers and I'd hate for they to not happen because they couldn't make the figures appealing enough to keep sales strong among the casual collectors. |
