It's kinda weird that Figuarts re-issues are just so rare that people can be conditioned into thinking a re-issue is a cashgrab.

Meanwhile Takara's re-issuing MP13 Soundwave and they've re-issued a metric ton of their other Transformers Masterpieces before, and this is a good thing because it provides collectors another chance to get their favourite figure without scalpers completely ruining everything.

I don’t have the OG SS Kuuga so this is a great chance to add him to my main rider collection :) I just hope I don’t miss out on the preorders when they go up.

I'm bummed that this rerelease isn't the Kuuga version, but on the other hand I guess I save some money.

It's funny, it wasn't always this way. Like 3 years ago Tamashii used to reissue 2-3 items every single month. I vividly remember looking forward to them posting what items were available for pre-order next month to see if they would reissue anything I still needed.

Nowadays? Almost nothing. The few things they do reissue are either repainted, retooled or rebranded. I guess they now have the mentality of going forward and either completely redo a character or if old sculpts are used at least change the paintjob and/or packaging.

Yeah, Takara does it right IMO. Although the MP line moves at a much slower pace than Figuarts, which is understandable.

The same way it took 10 years or however long to get base Kiva meanwhile they kept releasing new forms of everything else.

Hold up, is SS Kuuga seriously that valuable? Agito must be the cheap one then.

A quick look on Mandarake gives me 18,000 to 20,000 JPY (aka $166-$184). So anyone saying this reissue is pointless when it's a third of the price of going market value is kinda missing the point.

Exactly! I don’t have the first release of SS Kuuga and I do want to add him to my collection...what is stoping me is the after market price. This Decade version is an instant buy for me as I get to up to $150 and that I got into Kamen Rider by watching Decade first so that was how I got to see Kuuga for the first time :)

Either way it’s a win win.
