Actually...what? This doesn't change the fact they are using broadcast masters instead of the Blu-ray ones.

I mean that was for the trailer and the broadcast masters are normally only given to tv stations. Considering Shout! is dealing with toei directly, the trailer could most likely be a mock up made out of tv broadcast footage or tv rips availible online. I mean its not unheard for that to be done with trailers, Saban did it all the time for PR.

Oops just noticed. Yeah that looks pretty bad. I wish this really wasnt the case. Considering its the first rider physical release, youd think toei would take this more seriously. At present i think they see the U.S market as not important enough to break into to warrant a higher quality release.

I know there is some negativity surrounding it, but I'm still excited to get the Blu-ray release. I'm willing to bet that Shout at least did they best they could with what Toei was willing to give them.

Ofc, shout releases are always quite good and yeah they try to do the best they can with most if not all of their releases. Just a shame toei chose to do this.

The fact Shout hasn't been transparent about this does not spark confidence. Toei is difficult to work with, sure. But the facts are now they had to delete tweets lying about fixing deinterlacing issues. And we're only just *now* finding out that they're the TV broadcast masters about a month away from the release and it was unintentional is completely unacceptable.

That is true all things considered. I mean their releases are usually good, but if they deleted tweets, than i feel like they intentionally misled by ommission about the quality of this release, and only now that it came out about whats really on the discs, theyre just trying to avoid the issue. Im suprised they weren't forthcoming with this info, didnt even realize they posted anything on this to begin with.

Took em long enough! It's been needlessly arduous to do the SHOUT! subs cause the SHOUT! Factory app is hit-or-miss. Usually have better success with the Tubi app.
