i was lucky enough to have purchased the five magical girls from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. As always, one tends to want to share the experience of obtaining something they were truly happy to acquire.

First up is undoubtedly my favorite magical girl from the series, Homura Akemi.

Akemi comes with the requisite figma stand, twelve hand options, three different faces, a set of glasses, alternate hair piece depicting her twin braids, her signature shield, left forearm option without her shield, a grenade, a missile launcher, a handgun, and a golf club.

She was a blast to play with. I don't know what it is about giving this young lady some guns to play with that is just so satisfying. As you'd expect, she stands rather small compared to figmas of adult aged characters. Her articulation is on par with what you'd expect from the line and the paint work is clean overall.

Alternatively you can order her directly from Good Smile and then you get a bonus rooftop stand. She costs a bit more and shipping has to be EMS in that instance though.

Poo, poor Sayaka Miki, the unfortunate magical girl through which we learn so many truths.

Sayaka's figma comes resplendent with eight of her signature swords, ten hand options, three different facial expressions and two capes (one soft goods, and one of rigid plastic).

I thought she would turn out to be a little lackluster due to some design choices involving her skirt and bloomers, but she can still pull off some great poses. I am loving the soft goods cape and she's fun to fiddle with once you get started.

I would love some Saint Saiya Figma. It'd be a nice alternative to people who don't want/need/can't afford the giant Cloth figures.

I would love to see figmas of Camus, Orphee, Shun, Shyryuu, Muu, Yuna, Sonia... ...Tatsumi, Jabu, the girl that was friends with Seiya, the screenwriters, the animators, etc.

Heck yeah Saint Seiya figures would be awesome to have. Does Bandai have that license on lockdown? As awesome as the Myth Cloth and Armor Plus figures are, I can't afford them easily. I like both franchises alot, but that price tag keeps me from tracking them down.

Dude, its dirty how they include some almost necessary bits with the school uniform versions. Sayaka's hair clips, Homura's bow and red Madoka hair band, Kyoko's rage face, Mami's erm.....teacup.

To be fair to Max Factory, TV version Sayaka doesn't have the hairclip and came out before the movie IIRC. It was pretty good of them to include the extra part with the uniform version.

I think what kills me most is lack of anguish/despair face in either version if Sayaka.

Yeah. The lack of a "I'm such an idiot" face killed my wanting that. Same with school girl Mami not coming Tiro Finale.

It's about time for the magical girl from the neighboring town to make an appearance. Our resident tough gal and constantly eating Kyoko Sakura.

She comes with the almost requisite three inter-changable faces, ten hand optins, her signature polearm, a segmented polearm, two "rocky" sticks, a delicious taiyaki to eat, and an innocent looking Kyubey to dangle from her hand.

Ah, our dear Mami Tomoe. Mentor and guiding hand into the world of magical girls, the impact her character left on Madoka and Sayaka is (hopefully) shared by the viewer.

Just as the other releases, she comes with several accessories: three faces, nine hand options, six rifles with stands, an alternate hair clip, and a small figure of Charlotte the dessert witch.

She's not the best Figma around, but I love the character so I'm happy. Still sorely tempted by the Kamineko version though...

Have I mentioned how much I'm loving these? :D Mami is so elegant and Kyoko has so much personality and sass to her. Fun fact, Kyoko was is personal favorite of the magical girls... Well, she was until I saw episode 10. People who have seen the series know why.

Sort of how I loved Mami till the third episode :lolol

Our dear miss Kaname comes with: three faces (happy, determined, and shocked), eleven hand options, two grief seeds, four light arrows, two bows (one wound, one deployed), and a Kyubey at rest (Would you like to make a contract?)


Sadly the bows are rather thin and somewhat fragile, and one snapped and needed to be glued together. For those interested in picking her up, be careful.

They've had pre-orders up for a while now. Pretty much the same price as everyone else. I'm getting mine from AmiAmi though. I was surprised it took so long for him to sell out. Samus is still in stock there though.
