I loved the aesthetics of the Gungan technology, as well as their culture and underwater lifestyle. It's only really disappointing that Jar Jar has doomed that entire race to mediocrity. |

I'm very excited for those figures! Vader in particular looks great. Bought on sight! |
I'm starting a fan-fic, on Wattpad, called STAR WARS: Chosen - Episode I: The Rise of the Chosen.

OtaKing strikes again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=13&v=PN_CP4SuoTU I have no idea why it isn't posting the video properly, dadgummit. But go check it out. |

And can I just say that the Rebels finale is the most epic thing I've seen in Star Wars television. :D |
Abrams-flashy or not, damn if this doesn't feel like Star Wars.

Watched it at 4am here. :D Biggest grin, it's a terrific trailer that still tells us nothing! Very good at keeping secrets.
|
... Oh my god.
|
Showed it to my 66 year old father. He had the biggest smile at the very end. This movie is dangerously over-hyped, more so than any other movie before it. I hope for the love of all that is right in this world that it does not disappoint, because I'm hyped now too.

No offense, but you know you probably just jinxed it right? Why would you say that?! We all want it to be awesome as all get out. But let's face it, we've all got our expectations set a bit high. Let's not get too wound up about it until it gets closer. I know I'm not getting hyped up a lot. *looks at light saber toys in corner* Ok, maybe I am... So sue me... >_> |
Considering the film has already completed principal photography, I doubt anything anyone says will "jinx" it. It is what it is at this point and it is what it was always going to be.
|
Which would be?
|
A film that has major levels of hype around it before it began production, before it's released, and probably a little bit after release simply because it's a new Star Wars movie.
|
*nods in agreement* I'll accept that.

People are definitely excited for this movie, but after the prequels, I think there's much more caution being expressed. |
I think people tend to be more cynical these days, so they won't fall so easily. :)
This movie is the most hyped I've been since ... perhaps the last Star Wars movie, or Avengers, but there is a marked difference. Last time I scoured the web finding every detail I could on Revenge of the Sith, until I practically knew the whole story inside out before the movie was even released. But now, I try to avoid spoilers where I can (not always successful, my fault) so I think it'll be a pleasant experience. |
I really am excited for this film, I love Star Wars so of course I will see this movie probably a couple of times. Although I also said that about the Lego movie and I never saw that once in theaters.

In case no one's seen it yet we had two huge bombshells dropped today on which actors are playing which characters in The Force Awakens. As revealed by Vanity Fair:
Kylo Ren - Our new Sith Lord is played by Adam Driver. I for one am quite disappointed with this little bit of news. Never found him to be a particularly good actor in anything but oh well. And it's not just that he's the guy under the mask either, there are physical shots from the film of him without the mask implying he may have a significant amount of screen time without it on. Captain Phasma ("Chrometrooper") - Played by Gwendoline Christie!! Incredibly excited for this piece of news. Racist nerds poured out of the wood work complaining when they found out Stormtroopers could be black, imagine the kind of man child rage you'll see now that they know they can be women too! :D Loved her on on Game of Thrones and knowing she'll be a total badass in this movie as well makes me even more excited than I was before. So what does everyone think? |
I read somewhere earlier today, and I will be darned if I can remember where, that the VF pics were pretty specifically staged and may not be entirely representative of scenes in the film. It's a small hope to cling to (re: Driver), but it's something.
I love love love the Captain Phasma pic, though, and I was pretty wary of the whole "Chrometrooper" concept. Visually, I mean. Abrams' comments on Jar Jar Binks' skeleton were pretty amusing, too. |
So tommrow me my mum and my dad are going to be watching episode 1 to 6, I don't care how bad prequal are I enjoy them to me they have there good point. For one Erwen migragor was great casting for a young Alec Guinness obi wan by the time of episode three he looked part. Oh and I enjoy mace windu
|
Many of those shots actually were staged. But based on some excerpts I've seen from the actual article it's been confirmed that he will be out of mask in the film as well.
I didn't actually see that particular JJ comment though. Please link me :lol |
Ah, that's unfortunate. About the mask, I mean. :(
As for Jar Jar, the quotes about that are near the bottom of the article. |
Did anyone hear about the tumored Boba Fett movie plot awhile back where it was about the original Clone in the armor getting killed by some random dude and his armor got stolen?
|
Yo, what the hell is going on with the comics? Why the hell does Han Solo have a wife and who in their right mind said it was okay to just add in fan fiction to the continuity?!

It's already been done with all the novels, but the wife thing is moronic. |
My brain is not big enough to contain awesomeness of this magnitude!

Someone I follow online said that he'd be happy if Disney decanonized the Prequels and think it will eventually happen. I responded that he is being a dick about it and is going to ruin younger people's childhoods just because they made a film with an alternate character arc you could easily ignore.
Would a response like that be appropriate to counteract someone's request to decanonized episodes 1-3? |
Well I prefer to ignore most things prequel related, the movies just were terrible and is actually wouldn't mind them being redone, but I'd rather they continue with OT era and on ward.
|
Looks like Episode 7 is turning out different than people assumed :lol

14 acres worth of theme park area additions, too, coming to Disneyland and WDW. More info here.
SW updates from the Parks and resorts presentation: - No dates for SW expansion. - Episode 7 updates to Star Tours by the end of the year. - Star Wars Launch Bay coming soon: Interactive meet and greets, BTS stuff. -Star Wars: Season of the Force. Spun off from Star Wars Weekends, to be held at DL and WDW. It's likely to be a hard ticket event, but will have custom food, characters, and park changes during the event. DL's Space Mountain gets a Star Wars overlay called Hyperspace Mountain. DHS gets a custom fireworks show set to the classic Williams' score. |

I got my Black Series Storm Trooper yesterday and there are things I like about him better than the Figuart, and there are things I like better about the Figuart.
I like the wider looking armor and that his double jointed knees give him more of a range of motion in his legs. However, the belt on mine is crooked and off and it just looks pretty cheap. The helmet is great on both, although, I think I like the helmet more on Hasbro's version. I do prefer the shiny look on the Figuart compared to the flat colors of Hasbro's. They both look great together nonetheless and the additional gun the Black one came with really helps to give him a different pose from what I already have. I do wish it was possible to hold the guns in either hand though, as there seemed to be an equal number of leftys as there were rightys. Oh, the Hasbro one can not move his arms sideways thanks to the armor whereas the Figuart one can. Finally, I prefer the lack of seeing the joints themselves on the Figuart version as the bolts can sometimes be off putting. http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pshtsfyt5o.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psyhzocvry.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pssdye0h9q.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0d5iv2ac.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psx0iboazl.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pstczrl8cu.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5mzlt8lh.jpg |
