My HLJ Private Warehouse came in, was waiting for Revoltech Snake.
Got these two in one of their many sale appearances. Have wanted both for quite a while. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/73/fourme.jpg My dissatisfaction with the Wizard SHF led me to try the gimmick mass release line for once, WAP! And... I like it a lot! The articulation is far inferior, of course, but the proportions look great, the jacket tails are done in a FAR superior manner, and he poses extremely well. I am pleased! http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/7816/wapgreen.jpg Also ordered the Beast from the same line, mostly because he has all the capes and Chimera, and wasn't too pricey. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/9...tionplease.jpg The guy I was most looking forward to: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/6032/snakej.jpg And someone formidable for Snake to face off against: http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7269/henrietta.jpg Another 1:144 scale Zoids. I love these things but their boxes are HUGE compared to finished model. It's like going to end up as small as the left side one in the painting on the box, if not smaller. http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/6561/zoidsj.jpg |
How is Revoltech snake?

He has a few big deficits, but I'm warming to him big time. Because of the stupid revoljoints, he's not much fun to play with. His sculpt is a tad annoying, because to cover the gaps in the sculpt you basically have to pose him crouched over. He can stand normally, it's just not as good looking. His head is an annoying design, it's in two pieces. One for the face(with moveable eyeball gimmick), one for the mullet. This means these two parts can move independently, giving a sort of moveable mullet effect which SOUNDS cool but is less so in reality. The good news is one you play around with different poses you start to find he can pose VERY dynamically and stylishly. He holds his weapons extremely well. Tons of accessories. The moveable eye thing works well and looks cool. If you're fine with Revoltechs generally, he's not bad as far as they go. Looks better than in photos. |

I think owning the hot toys may have spoiled me on any future Snake figure. |
Probably. 1/6 is a more forgiving scale and Hot Toys has amazing sculptors.
As for the Revoltech, I'd have preferred a Figma Snake to be honest. |
Just got Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial and Ultraman Saga off eBay. WWWYKI.

Nice haul dude. Be careful with Joseph Joestar's hips, examine the instructions first. They're done in a weird way and you can't force them at all.

Just got three packages in the mail today.
I now have Figuarts Decade Complete, Zeronos Altair, and Bouken Red, as well as Ranger key DX set 1,2 and 4. |
Just bought {second attempt at buying} the Den-O TRU Souchaku Henshin five armour pack off Mandarake for $35 and Zeronos and both his forms for $8. Unfortunately they were from seperate stores, so all together plus shipping I'm out a solid $100. However I've been told the TRU set alone can go for hat before shipping, so I'm not heartbroken.
|
Oh man, I woulda sold you mine for under $100. :(
