Ruki was subdued, but she's just boring and a bitch. Rika's trash talking led to a better transition and growth. Ruki went from a cold stare to a calm smile. Rika went from an ice cold bitch to a warm character, and it was better for it overall. Then Ryo had to show up and take what should have been her development. I hate Ryo... Quote:

There are torrents out there of the dub but they have very few seeds, then again my internet sucks and torrents are always slow. I try to do direct downloads where I can.
|
All five seasons are up on YouTube for those who can't find the torrents.
|
Didn't even think of that, watching it now!

I'm enjoying Tamers so much more now it's dubbed.

Something I much prefer in the dub over the original is Terriermon.
He's originally much more mellow, while in the dub, he's a smart ass. And that's funnier :lol |
The dub has been great so far, I dunno whether it's just because I'm used to the voices, or if dubbing was just better in the past.
Because I'm a real sub elitist, I usually cannot stand dubs, I find the performances bland, the delivery weak, the chemistry lacking - which basically makes no sense because the same actors go away and put on great performances in American animation. About the last dub I really enjoyed was Bleach, but that is because Bosch was perfect for Ichigo, everyone else sucked. But here, I love how unique everyone sounds, how distinct the personalities of the Tamers are and their bonds with their Digimon, this is just dubbing done so right. I actually found the sub much more bland, I didn't like the music or sound effects as much in the sub either. Quote:

Will that be in the shape of Guilmon's head as well? |
I had that same problem. All my friends kind of gave up on Digimon while keeping up with Pokemon.
It was unfortunate, because I didn't have very many to talk Digimon with when I was younger. |
It's a shame too because while rewatching Tamers my inner child really remembers how much more I loved Digimon to Pokémon. I just loved the idea that you had a Digimon who was uniquely yours to raise and care for, no one else would have one quite like yours. Even as an adult the idea just gets me so excited.

These were the Digivices I still had-

Masaru (I will refer to Marcus by his Japanese name) is a badass. He PUNCHES Digimon to get his DigiSoul, unlike the others who just manifest them themselves. |

Finally someone else who likes Marcus/Masaru! Also, I'm just curious. What exactly was his "catchphrase" in Savers? In the dub it was "It's fighten time!" Which is... yeah kind of stupid. I just want to know if it was something less... stupid. |

I liked Masaru/Marcus.
I just didn't like Savers :lol |
Am I the only one here who really doesn't like Digimon dubbed? It just feels so cheesy. Then there's Data Squad who screwed up on a load Digimons names. Sleipmon sound so much cooler than Kentarosmon, Supinomon instead of Spinomon was pretty dumb aswell, then there's Eldoradomon which was really screwed up. Though I must admit they screwed up on some names the dubs quality wasn't that bad. I just prefer savers since it had such an awesome soundtrack.

Oh why couldn't the English dub get that morsel of audio awesomeness? |
"I have to stop that little gun bunny!"
The pacing is really dodgy in Tamers, everything feels like it's happening way too quickly, but still a bunny with gatling gun arms inanely giggling while twirling around blowing up a carpark is still pretty damn awesome. |

They changed the lines, but for the better. If there is one thing I like in the original, though, it's the "EVOLUTION" line. The chick saying "DIGIVOLUTION" in the dub just doesn't have that same robotic tone. |
Wow episode four of Tamers was so confusing.
So he beats Gorillamon in what looks like an original gameboy game...but then ends up fighting him again on a game that looks just like the anime but there Terriermon digivolves and acts like an asshole? And now he's fighting him again in the real world? Why was the flashback to the gameboy game necessary? That didn't seem to have anything to do with anything. |
