My mind- it's blown. But year five makes sense- it's the anniversary year, after all.
Though I'd say year one should be somewhat a mixture of old and new. All themes weren't new (Hurricanger-Kakuranger, Gekiranger-Dairanger, Go-Busters- pretty much every military Sentai), but they tried to get a fresh flavor by playing with concepts, maybe?
Though I didn't think Gekiranger was THAT innovative.

I do not know, especially with all the talk about how similar Tokku might be to Kyoryuger that has music/dancing as such an important theme. And now I want them to do some kind of reference to Soul Train in the eventual vs movie(though I highly doubt it happening)

I actually have the scene planed out! The Kyoryugers intro scene would be the group preforming on a music variety show hosted by Candelilla who has become a popular idol(assuming of course she survives/turns completely good by the end of the show). It would be perfect as it would be a job for Candelilla that would let her continue to spread happiness while being able to sing and the reason the Kyoryugers are on the show is because she begged Nosan to help and he dragged the rest along who tease him about his and Candelillia's relationship

...actually forget about that being a scene in the movie, now I want to make a fanfic about it XP

forget about having the next year being about ponies, what they need to do is just do a crossover with MLP Friendship is Magic and Tokyuger, after all not only does MLP have a train in the show but it already has train toys . Now we just need to find out how they can be added on to TokyuOh

The magic theme should be about 4 wizards that are fire, water, hurricane, and land the the power up is Dragons so the megazord can have wings. The fifth ranger should be a lion that turns blue and the sixth should be this old dude that has three apprentices. Yup,totally not ripping Wizard off.

Considering that the Dekaranger have a death sentence on their villains in almost every episode... I'd go with your thought that it was dark in tone.

The personalities seem pretty interesting, the cast, the villains and the storyline have to make up for lacking costumes (which I am crazily starting to like more and more) and the Rainbow train Mecha. lol
