extremely dissapointing :(

I think it's got a brilliant and subtle pun built into it.

Also, I think we got spoiled by Kyoryuger more than a little bit. This seems more compatible with the ZordBuilder stuff than Kyoryuger is.

So, we've got four Shinkansen, what looks like one of the more memorable Diesels, the quintessential D51, some railcars, a car transporter, and either two tank engines together or a tank engine towing a tank car.

And they have railcars as well!?

This is a lot cooler than it seems at first glance.

The way the colours work are a little bizarre at first but I really like the transformation method. I definitely think its something that'll grow on me.

Can't wait for this to start, I'm well over Kyoryuger at this point :lol

Seriously though, Tokkyu-Oh is the ugliest mecha I've seen, with that said I think the solo train modes are absolutely stunning, and when I do get the mecha I will for sure keep them in their 4 foot long train mode.

Yellow's a girl; you can tell by the promo image and her figure.

While their mecha aren't as cool as the guys', I have two happy moments for both:
Pink: it's PINK again! Yay!
Yellow: Despite being a mirror of Pink, it still looks great.

Yellow is a girl.

Also all 5 rangers can swap numbers.
Red 1 can be Red 2, 3, 4, or 5 by changing the number on his head and chest.
So can the others.
By changing the number they also changes their weapon and fighting style.

Tokkyuger are protecting the "Rainbow Line".
Prepare for 2 more members.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in the suits and will begrudgingly watch the series or atleast the first few episodes. It looks like they might be able to switch colors actually from the pic of No. 1 turning from Red to Green. However It just looks so generic, with colors, suits, weapons and Mecha.

Man, I think it's awesome when Yellow has a skirt too. Lookin' at the promo pics again, seems I was misteaken. Mmm, steak.

Orange and Cyan? I mean they show those Mecha already.

MY initial thoughts are not very positive. Aside from the changer gimmick the suits look incredibly generic which is a shame after the innovation I felt we saw with Kyoryuger. The mecha in line art looks awesome but as toy Tokkyu Oh is very much like Go-Buster Oh wound up being. Oddly proportioned. I know how I am and that I'll grow to love everything I see here but my initial reaction isn't great.

well then, red's helmet is slightly reminiscent of Maskman, and they're back to the status quo team RBYGP, wonder if they're gonna go the Kyoryuger route and the extra trains are extra rangers, if so it looks as if we have Gold and Silver (of course), Orange, Cyan, and a blue-green color (someone help with a better name). Not bad wish there was a black and/or white though, hasn't been a black 6th (if you coun't him) since BullBlack in Gingaman

I see the costume design team from a few decades ago has their jobs back.

the suits are growing on me the more times i see them, but the same usual colors is what's bugging me, why not a purple instead of pink, idk but the mecha is god awful, definitely one of the worst in recent memory

Tokkyu-Oh isn't the prettiest mecha,but hopefully the in-show suit will look good.Generally DX mecha toys don't have the nicest looking proportions,so hopefully seeing the suit in action will ease some people's minds.Those blue and green trains could definitely use some paint to break up all of that unpaintedness.

I am really digging that brace though,so much beef to it.Having the mecha and role play toys share a gimmick is something I really enjoy about Kyoryuger and makes me really want to own all of the Jyudenryu.I'm curious if the brace is gonna come with a non-transformable train or they would make you have to buy the DX mecha just to fully use the brace.

You know, just spotted something on the scans. It appears their number changes to reflect the weapon they're using. So either we've got five additional weapons/moves/finishers for each ranger, or they swap weapons ala gokai.

Bland, minimalist design aside this could interesting...

christ on a cracker this looks really weird. the costume needs more flair, one more improvement then it will sit better in my eyes. for now they just look like something from a cheese induced nightmare.

From what I can make out from the toy catalogue scans it seems like they will have a downgraded RedRessha included meaning it will work with the Tokkyuchanger but you can't use it with the TokkyuResshas to form Tokkyuoh.

I really am trying to like the suits, but there isn't a lot to like. Quite literally. All the design elements went into the helmets, it's as if they just gave up on the main suits themselves. I seriously have to wonder what the meetings at PLEX were like and who thought this would be a good idea.

Kinda love that each Ranger can turn into one another's color, I foresee them being able to turn into colors associated with the auxiliary trains.

So, next thing to take issue with... Casting around New Year's Eve.

you know what's interesting, it's the first time the whole team is wearing white boots and not the team color boots, it's the first time in 15 years since gogov, they are wearing white boots.

That mecha looks freaking bad ass. As for the suits, they look alright.

The suits are bland and the mecha is pretty rough.I love the way they combine,and I love they're separate train modes,but together they just dont work.The legs are way too long and the torso is stubby.Not only that but it feels.....naked to me.Like something is missing.They could've added a waist piece,like a railroad track or something to not only make it look appealing but also functional,like the track was holding the trains together.

I'll give it a shot,I always give sentai series a shot,but man they have to do something great to impress me this time.

I hope when they get their power boosting ability it actually makes their suits somewhat interesting.

There's another way of confirming that Yellow's a girl. If you look at the profiles of the Rangers, notice that Yellow's chest...pops out a little more...:o

Well actually, I guess for a first minus Gokaiger, the girls aren't confined to the 'girly' colours as this is all about numbers, not colours. Although I'm guessing red is only allowed to use red.

I wasn't going to uh, say... but yes. Yes, that'll do it too.

The transfer gimmick so far from what I am getting at seems like a downgraded Gokai Change or Gaim's Lock Seed gimmick where they share train components with each other.

What bothers me about this is me. I usually hate things (Gaim) but then keep staring at it and fall deeply in love with it (Gaim!) ... So give me a week and I might start fawning :lol ... I'm frightened ...
