i would love to see a sentai with a combination of both a knight and dragon motif. In a way, it would be like magiranger. With each ranger having control over a specific element.

Red: Fire
Blue: Water
Black: Shadow
Yellow: Lightning
Pink: Wind

6th Ranger:
Green: Wood/Earth

I'd kill to see a Western-themed Sentai.

Their suits could be entirely black and white - Detective One, Detective Two etc etc They could fight gangsters and the episodes could be framed as cases of the week. Plus the sixth Ranger could be a Femme Fatale.

How about a monster theme rider that'll rival Kiva.

Blue as 2nd in command isn't really a thing, you know. Black/Green is more often the one to take that spot.

Aquaman is pretty damn badass, so I think a Merman could work just fine as a second in command.

I'd say Ninja and Space, but if they did do a space theme after Toqger, or after the season that follows that up, people might think it's a rip off of Fourze.

I think what he may be implying, is perhaps using old ideas isn't for the best right now, as we still have so many untapped original ones.

While I'm all for original ideas, it doesn't mean that a previously used idea can't be updated and improved. Sentai has an annoying tendency to take a theme and not use it to it's fullest. While ToQger seems to be making full use of it's train theming, there's the likes of Gokaiger, that barely touched on it's pirate theme.

I'm not one to revisit an old theme just because I liked a past series that used it, but there's still a lot of unexplored potential with motifs we've already used, but for one reason or another, was spread too thin and had plenty of room to grow.

Actually, no. A theme is the base topic of the show, and a fight scene isn't inherently based around martial arts.
