Dairanger wasn't skipped. Some of it's components were used, like the Zords.

There's nothing saying a season can't be skipped, it just needs to use assets from that season. Stuff that sells toys.

That's true. But people are reading "what Saban said" as incorrect. A certain percentage of footage has to be used, not full on seasons or themes even.

I can see skipping Go-busters as being a decision brought up by BoA, more so than Saban. It is well known that the toy sales weren't great so I wonder if Bandai stepped in and said they didn't want to risk a second year of poor sales with Go-busters. Either way, I'm just glad to see the Dinos are coming sooner, rather than later. Now, where is Tommy Oliver fitting into all of it.

I don't blame them, to be honest. The aesthetic and style of the entire Gobuster line-up from suits to weapons to arsenal are wayyyy more different than anything they've done before. Taking a massive risk like that would be foolish now that they're finally spiking brand recognition back up.

That and Kyoryuger is a fucking MOUNTAIN of merchandising. Eleven Ranger suits (Not counting variants, Carnival or Dinosgrander), 11+ Zords not counting the possible retoolings/redecos that would be perfect for the Zord Builder system (I love it, dammit. Such a perfect line with such amazing possibilities), More Robots thanks to Bikes (Which could again be Zord Builder), 12 role play toys.... The entire line could last for two years if they wanted to. It's an amazing cash magnet.

like a lot of people have said, the toyline for Go-Busters really isnt that big, I honestly dont think they could adapt it into one season let alone 2. At the end of the day the purpose of the show is to sell the toys, if the toys arent up to snuff its logical to skip. Im a bit concerned skipping seasons will eventually bring them too close to the sentai airing, i know its a silly worry, but if they do it now, its possible they could do it again. I guess the 2 years per show gets around that, and Bandai know how to make a succesful line now

There isn't one. It wasn't ever stated he can't skip a season, it's just that a certain percentage needs to be used from each season. I'm pretty sure Elie Dekel said it, but I can't be arsed to find it.

I don't know there are ways I'd do it, but frankly Saban and writers are hella likely to just give them one suit or the other as power ups then use the giant battle footage as is. Too much flack and problems from back in the mmpr era has rubbed off on him. So no more gender swapping, no more cheesy cuts to paste the wrong megazord into the wrong fight, no risky use of footage. Though I admit you could just film new cockpit scenes for fights with other villains, even if we have to sit through another mega mode to have it.

In some senses that's a shame, in others I'm glad. Put it this way... keep your expectations at super megafarce levels and hopefully Dino Charge will be just a little better thus blowing our minds.

I'm allowed one burst of Sanity per month, and I'm afraid I just used it all up.

With the amount of information we actually have, we have no reason to not believe this will be a hybrid like the MMPR Dairanger days. Those shows had completely polar opposite aesthetics but they just went ahead and did it anyway. And although that sounds like total shit, it can't be worse than full on skipping a series I love for a series I hate.

If that IS what they are doing, I hope they rework Kyoryuger from the ground up, because it needs it.

Also an added bonus for adapting Kyoryuger: The team up with Zyuranger and Abaranger AKA more money for Bandai (If they decide to touch it)

If they do the merge, that's disappointing. If they don't and have us wait another year for Power Rangers Spy Beasts, that's cool. I'm just that one outlier who wanted the Kyoryuger adaptation in 2016.

Probably. They shot original Zord footage and all sorts for that, which I actually think is pretty cool. They also used off the shelf toys as stand ins, which I think is beyond shitty.

But the thing is, from the plot description it sounds neither like Kyoryuger or Go-Busters, so I dunno how Saban's slap dash, copy and paste, we'll fix it in post style of show construction is going to work for this. It almost, dare I say it, sounds like Saban might try.

Hey I have hope that they do quite a bit of original footage for this season, the Megazords are basically a given they won't. Now as for the Go-Busters, I honestly don't care. I mean ya I was looking forward, but considering I didn't like the Sentai all too much I don't care.

I'm wondering this, given the animal nature of the mecha you could draw a loose connection to dinosaurs. Certainly more than dinosaurs to samurai. So let's say that makes up a portion of the allowance, I wonder if the rest of the portion will be using the Morphing Brace and subsequently a henshin of that style INTO the Kyoryuger suits.

I'm only wondering about this, as that way they can get around the whole transforming with guns thing which shouldn't be a problem given their nerf gun aesthetic and battery bullets, but this is the US.

Very weird. Of course Gobusters is a weird sell to a US market since it isn't quite clear what the theme is (Power Rangers Spy Special Forces Sunglass-Tosser Force) and the zords are very zord-builder and US-price-point unfriendly.

I picked up all of the mechs for Gobusters (including to my eternal sadness a now-broken GT-02) so the only things I would really miss if Gobusters failed to make it over is a decent Beet J Stag figure and my own morbid curiosity at how they would handle the zords.

Kyoryuger on the other hand? Great idea. Big simple mechs, especially if they removed the whole Zyudenchi part and just had connector ports inside the mouths. BoA can totally do that.
