I don't care about the Dairanger suits, but it isn't hypocritical to be dissatisfied with the usage here. "It's better than nothing" isn't something people should just have to accept. If someone gives me a hamburger and I'd rather have steak, should I be satisfied if they turn around and give me a burnt steak? Consumers should be critical of the products they choose to support.

Maybe all we're doing is complaining is because...Megaforce is shit? And as a consumer we wouldn't accept a cold hamburger, so why'd we accept this half cooked pile of shit?
This is an anniversary of a franchise we love, and yet it's more like a funeral for a franchise we love with the way Saban has gone about it. Praise is earned, not automatically given out, this forum would be a happier place if Megaforce was a better show, but it isn't. This thread has proven that an overwhelming number of people are happy to swallow as Saban shits down their neck, for some odd reason, but a lot of us aren't. |

Eh. People are allowed to like things. People are allowed to not like things. As long as we don't start insulting people for liking/not liking things, why is there such a big problem with people liking (or not liking) a thing?

Yes, I hate what Neo-Saban is doing but I also agree that this isn't just all about us. My philosophy on PR nowadays? Watch 3 episodes and then pretend like Saban never got PR back. IIRC, BoA was going to keep churning out Megazords after RPM sounded the requiem for the TV series, so aside from waiting longer for a hypercheapened Mogyudaioh to make a hypercheapened Samurai HaOh nothing really changed. There was no show to dissapoint and we got a fun new play feature. What? That's ignoring everything/escapist thinking/technically incorrect in some parts/assanine/blasphemous heresy? Don't care! I got a red and gold car that punches people and DVDs of the past seasons of PR. That's good enough for me. |

I don't think Ive posted on this yet-
We all knew we weren't gonna get an explantion to begin with. I am glad we at least it mentioned instead of- "Oh hey, random new power! Wheres it from? who cares!" Yes we were supposed to get a more fan serviced season, which is the reason most fans are upset about this show. Is it cool we even got a never before used suit in the show? Yes. Should we have gotten a better explanation? Maybe. Will we? No. Im not going to complain about getting them or that we shouldn't have. I gave Megaforce a chance until the end, and I definitely will this season. Because I really want to see how Jason Smith handled the episodes he did, and how the Legendary War is gonna turn out. |

How I see this is not something to be upset about, but something to take as a small victory.
Here we thought Saban would be REALLY lazy and completely leave out non US Sentai teams from the GoKaiger footage. Instead his team included it, even if it was westernized. I'll accept that because in prior Saban worlds, teams like DaiRanger never existed. This is something people have complained about for YEARS, since MMPR first aired, and people were complaining about how it wasn't like ZyuRanger. This might lead to reenvisionings of prior Sentai teams. There is so much that can be returned to and introduced in the western universe. If anything, I'm taking this as acceptance that anything is possible, and maybe kids can learn. So if you don't like Super Megaforces westernization of GoKaiger, here's how to fix that, get yourself a giant tube of Preparation H, fix yourself a real hamburger, and honor the Sentai by doing your own binge watch of GoKaiger. If you are open minded, fix up a nice soyburger, and have a seat. I'm not defending the lackluster, but I think we need to be a little less picky about how stereotypical westernized shows are westernized. And even I'll admit the acting is getting better. Not Oscar winning, but enough to watch it coherently, and that's saying a lot since I thought Megaforce was the equivalent of a Hot Pocket. Which would you rather have? Nasty rancid meat Hot Pocket, or Udon? |
Honestly, I'm more concerned as to why the acting has not gotten better in this show when these characters have had one year's worth of acting experience over a team that was not used before. Aren't they have supposed to gotten better by now? I feel like they have as much skill to act as they did in Feb 2013.

Wait it was lazy for them to NOT include sentai teams? Eh? Since when? And minus self privileged elitists, as far I know most people don't actually care that Dairanger was never adapted.
That is the problem here for me. They aren't Power Rangers. Us older fans know that, us sentai fans know that and for the kids these Rangers are just entirely meaningless and since they introduced the team with a broom and stumbling Gia it isn't even like they included a fight scene just too cool to physically leave out. I would have had no problems with this if a) Saban hadn't claimed this would be for the older fans as well B) Saban hadn't claimed this'd be the most expensive season yet and C) Saban hadn't just hand waved their inclusion, rather than weaving a genuine story to enter them in with. What I think a lot of people in this thread are missing, who are decrying those for decrying in the first place, is that people aren't bitching on the sole reason of the Dairanger suits being here. But instead for either those who were apparently longing for them to appear in Power Rangers (?) or Power Rangers fans in general, the execution for how they have done this is pathetic. That kinda sums up the whole thing, this is supposed to celebrate twenty years of Rangers. So we get a bland cast, copy and paste editing and zero plot. Fucking pathetic. |
I can see where the arguments are coming from.
You can agrue that Power Rangers is meant to be a kid's show but there are some tv shows out that are meant for kids where that isn't really a factor. No body is expecting Shakespeare quality work but it's not too much to ask for to have something that's a little more smartly written. |
It's not too much to ask for there to be at least some kind of professional editing. Something that doesn't appear entirely lazy.

What actually happened with that? Saban used fansubs in a commercial? Anyone got a clip?

WOW. :lol
I honestly don't know how to respond to that, but this just makes me like Power Rangers even less. |
That is fucking terrible, have TVN responded to this?
|
There's a thread on their boards about it.

I thought I couldn't lose any more respect after this Dairanger shit, and then I see this. So fucking terrible.

I'm just hoping kids google "Gokai-Ou."
|
What boggles my mind is…
You already have that footage why the hell use subtitles? :lol |
This really goes to show just how lazy Saban and Bandai of America are when it comes to promoting their franchise. They're so lazy, they borrow footage from a fansub of their Japanese counterpart instead of just using the footage they already have.
