Same here. My hopes are up, but at the same time they're not sky-high like with some past movies I've been excited for. I think it helps that my only real expectation with this film, and others like it, is to have a fun time watching it.

Yeah, since there has been no mention of him so-far, I think it's a safe bet to say that we likely won't be seeing any of Tommy in this movie. Which I think is a good thing... Not that I'm a Tommy hater, just that I like the idea of this movie focusing on the main five.

As for who I would want to see in the role, assuming this film is good and warrants a sequel, I want a no-name in the role or nobody at all. Though I wil say this, since they're changing some of the ethnicities from the original five for this, how about someone with strong Native American heritage for Tommy?

The movie comes out in January. Big budget movies coming out in January are rare and hardly do well. The Green Hornet movie release in January did okay, but not enough to kick off a franchise.

To potentially start a franchise, I think it'll be enough. At the same time, those movies had bigger names attached to them which, I believe, stands for a lot in terms of budget. I think it'll be enough. I do wonder, though, if it is also this "low" because them actually getting the suits/powers might not be too in the forefront (if that makes sense).

This is actually a huge deal. Moving it into a more competitive window means Lionsgate and Saban have more faith in Dean Isrealite's vision than expected.

I saw this coming. I soo saw this coming. If they keep doing this the movie will never get made. I don't think this is going to get made. I know they have a cast. But i do not think it's going to happen. When i see news that there filming Not going to be filming. When i see news that they are filming & we start seeing set pics. Posters. news on the toy for the movie. Thats when i know this will happen.

January 2017 would have been a bad idea to release the movie. January is a dead month for film. So March 2017 is a much better and smarter release date to release the movie. A big budget series like Power Rangers would not work in January. Big budget movies like The Green Hornet failed in the January release schedule. However Power Rangers now has to deal with Wolverine, King Kong, Beauty and the Beast, Ghost in the Shell and The Smurfs reboot in March 2017 though.

Word of advice: Life is too short to hold grudges.

It will always have to compete with bigger movies when they set it in a month where there is potential money to be made. PR isnt going to make huge nombers either way. It can make good numbers when they market it right but its not going to be the biggest movie of 2017.

And to be honest, even though the Power Rangers reboot has its skeptics it probably doesn't have half as many as Ghost in the Shell does :lol

King Kong isnt looking like its gonna turn out great either so far :lol

I think March is a really good month all things considered. Wolverine is pretty much the only major competition.

Lionsgate also pushed back Allegiant (Divergent's fourth film) today to another 2 months from March to June of next year. The new Power Rangers Movie date is taking the date of the March release of Allegiant.

If production delays were the sole issue, the studio would have moved the film to the other movie dumping ground: September.

Moving Power Rangers two months, into the way more competitive Spring Break 2017 release window, is strictly a business decision. It means that the studio thinks this movie can compete against Paramount's The Mummy reboot, scheduled for release the same day.

It also might mean they're bullish on building a PR franchise. After all, Lionsgate released the first Hunger Games and the first Insurgent movie -- their biggest franchises -- on this same weekend. In fact, Lionsgate moved the final Insurgent movie to summer, freeing up this proven teen-oriented franchise launch date for Power Rangers.

Everything about this move shouts confidence in the movie they're making.

I dont think this is a good or bad thing. Just means more time for effects, bigger script, or better script, or just a better movie. Only two months doesnt mean anything but a better release window. I mean would you rather watch a sci-fi action movie in winter or in spring?

well January seems like a bad month for a movie to hit in theaters. they either could have release it in December or during the summer. Well i'm predicting that they'll bump up the release date into the summer.

Unless those leaked early character snippets turn out to be completely false I believe this movie will be a complete pile of horsecrap regardless of when it comes out.
