Okay so here. I know, I know, I'm extremely slow but...

I only just recently realized why the Rangers in Zeo are numbered the way they are; It's due to the amount of sides or pieces each of their shapes has.

Blue is III because he's a triangle, Green is IV, because he's a square, etc.

Again, totally obvious, but something I never actually bothered to put together.

I always found Zeo's numbering hilarious because of Yellow. A straight line would be confusing as a two sided shape...Just make it two lines! :lol

Fun fact, in the source material Ohranger the surname of the rangers are references to those shapes.

I was re-watching some Kakuranger episodes and noticed that on the right "head bar" on Daimaou (Master Vile in Mighty Morphin' Season 3), that there is a peace sign dangling like an earring!

I've heard that the bad guy in Dirty Harry also had a peace sign, as if to say "bad guy doesn't know how bad he is", and I'm wondering if Daimaou is meant to be the same.

Actually, I think that could also be a reference to the fact that he fights to revive his sister, aka. he is her lifeline.

This probably belongs in the Zero-One toy thread but... I was watching Freezing Bear DX Progrise Key reviews yesterday and thought it had a neat jingle. "Attention Freeze!".

Just as I was laying in bed trying to sleep my eyes sprung wide open as I suddenly realized "OMFG it's a play on "Attention, please!" how did I not get this until now".

Considering they straight up paid tribute to Batman '66 in their battle scenes with the onomatopoeia effect balloons familiar in American comic books I would not be surprised if that was true. Heck, even their main wardrobe out of suit is a total salute to grunge rock.

I feel kind of stupid realising that the Risephone is a Progrise Key variant. I mean, it should've been obvious given some of the past trends of Rider Machines (Gaim's Sakura Hurricane unfolds from a Lockseed, Drive's Tridoron is a giant Shift Car, Zi-O's unfolds from a Ridewatch, etc.) but the colors and the 'screen' and the way it's positioned made me think it really was meant to be a phone.

So yes, the Hiden Risephone is a fancy Progrise Key on its side, and now I feel like an idiot.

I always thought it represented a rocket's inner parts (like, gas tanks and engine fuselages and what-not), but no! The red part in the middle is supposed to be rocket thruster fire and the blue parts are modules.

Shauta's helmet is literally a killer whale from the sides. You can see the shape of a curved killer whale jumping out of the water (or something like that)

EDIT: While I'm the topic of OOO, it didn't dawn to me until I saw the Shinkocchou Seihou that Sagozo's (or Sagozoh or however it's spelled) 'elephant trunks' on the legs actually extended to the feet themselves. You can clearly see nostril indents in there.

So I know how the bottom is meant to be a cup, but I can't believe I literally just realised that the straw on the top right is meant to represent a drinking straw. I mean, like, duh, all the pipes are supposed to be straws.

But this particular straw is not going back into the Genesis Driver. For years I was wondering why the designers would have a weird pipe sticking out. Not convinced it's a drinking straw? Okay, imagine that the rest of it goes straight down. It would go straight through the Energy Lockseed (the fruit) and into the 'cup' (the wiki calls it the 'Concentrate Pod', fun fact).

...those are paper clips in Philip's hair. Not actual hair clips. And after quickly skimming back through some other episodes, it seems he's literally always using some kind of paper clip. You know, because he's smart and quirky? Maybe he wants to be ready to organize some paper at a moment's notice? Or maybe he just wanted to keep the hair out of his face while researching stuff, and those were the most nearby things to use?

The shoulder pad is the 'eye', the yellow and black triangular sections are 'teeth', and there is a black dot thing near the right shoulder that's supposed to be a 'nostril'.

I mean, yeah it looks nothing like a dinosaur head, but it's still there!

So, I haven't watched Zi-O, but I know from the wiki that Another Fourze later became Another Faiz, and I couldn't understand why out of all the riders to do that with, the writer chose those two. It just now hit me: Fourze = 4, Faiz = 5.

I still have no clue why Kuroto Dan become Another OOO.

I feel Kuroto Dan becoming Another OOO was ingenious, honestly. He's pretty much an antithesis to Eiji in just about every way -- the desire, the selfishness, embracing becoming a god/king... I genuinely loved that idea.

This actually seems to be a big thing with pretty much everything relating to Hiden Intelligence. A lot of the Humagears, as well as Aruto and his grandad, actually have some kind of really blunt meaning or another behind their name.

Satellite Zea, for example, is probably supposed to be Satellite "There", since it's up in space, which is not here, but... well, you get the idea.

Korenosuke sure was playing the long game naming Wazu in the past tense though. :lol

I just realised something. In a lot of henshin shows, if not all of them, the user gets knocked out of their transformation when they are low on health. Granted, I can let it slide for henshin heroes who utilise mystical energy sources (like magic or supernatural power) or energy sources linked to their health.

But the more tech-based heroes? Uh, what? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Like, they're low on health so the armor around them is MORE important? Let's say Kamen Rider Fourze or one of the Metal Heroes is fighting a battle in outer space and is critically injured (for some reason). Following the rules, their transformations would be cancelled 'to protect them', causing them to suffocate in the cold vacuum of space. Yikes.

So all in all, I have realised something: the whole 'cancel the transformation to protect the user from further harm' thing is stupid (for tech-based heroes anyway).

Sorry for forcefully putting weights on everyone's suspension of disbelief, but it's just something that was bugging me.

Technology can get overpowered, especially if said tech is directly linked to their spirit or life-force to begin with. It's really not a big stretch.

I think for tech-based heroes it is because they would be beaten up so bad the suit cannot sustain itself that it deactivates as a result. So it is actually protecting itself as a defense mechanism from further destruction. The person wearing it is not the focus, the device is. Of course this can also apply to magic-based suits too if one considers said magic device technology as well just not circuits and transistors and microchips.

On the other hand, if the suit is damaged enough so that further wearing it could endanger the user then it should also be able to shut itself down.

IIRC, in Ex-Aid the canceled transformation is actually to save the wearer, like an ejection system, because if the suit ran out of health with them still in it, they would die too. This was never brought up in the show, but on the wiki entry for Genm's Dangerous Zombie form it mentions a device that jams this ejection system.

I haven't heard anything like this about other tech-based suits, but it seems plausible, especially for ones that are connected to the user in ways beyond just being worn over their bodies. It's true that losing your armor puts you in a more vulnerable position, especially if you're already injured, but it's still better than getting destroyed along with your suit.

I want to know what that's about honestly. The whole health-bar thing is brilliant in my opinion, but not the ejection part! Bugsters, being human-sized physical entities that have been shown to possess the abilitiy to interact with their surrounding environment, are perfectly able to kill humans without infecting them. Once the suit transformation is cancelled, pretty sure the next second is going to end up with Graphite sticking his polearm thing into you.

Although then again, I have a reasonable explanation as to why Ex-Aid has a system like that: they said something about dead Gamer Riders and those infected with Bugster Virus getting turned into data so I assume that the Gamer Riders Rider Gauges (the heathbars) have something to do with that. I can't exactly see anybody shot or killed out of suit turning into data. Also it's more convenient for Dan Kuroto the Meme Lord to kill someone in-suit to prevent leaving evidence.

As for other shows like Zero-One, I think there should at least be a failsafe function in those suits. I don't want to get thrust in the middle of battle and then get knocked out of transformation all of a sudden!

Still a bit confused as to the whole 'protection via cancelling transformation' thing going on in terms of practicality.

That's why I said I can let is slide for heroes who transform using magic, mystical energy sources or energy sources related to their health. I can understand if their 'life force' or something powering their suit starts to disappear due to their state of injury, hence causing their suit to disappear as well. But technology based heroes should at least have a failsafe or something rather than just outright cancelling the transformation. Especially those with 'secret identities'.

Of course, I know perfectly well as to WHY suit transformations are canceled on-screen. Kids watching toku link suits to power, and the removal of transformation, in kids' eyes, symbolises the defeat or failure of a hero. I'm arguing for the sake of application in a more practical sense.

Actually, in practical fashion, wouldn't the suits themselves be stored inside the device? If so, then shouldn't the armor pieces stay on the person? I see no reason for the suit transformation to be cancelled. If the suit itself was formed by the device out of energy or something however, that's a WHOLE different story that I can let slide.

Just realised this, but the little bonus jingles at the end of Zero-One's Progrise Key announcements (e.g. "A jump to the sky turns to a Rider Kick") is supposed to represent small advertisements/blurbs.

You know how companies put a small blurb describing their product? Like, how some of the iPhone X ads have that blurb saying "Brilliant. In every way."? Same concept for the Progrise Keys.

This ties in so well with the business motif the show has and I love it!

Well considering you're ignoring the other points raised above(and you basically half ignored mine), here's something else to consider:

What needs to be penetrated in order for the user to sustain damage in the first place? The suit itself.

Armor, whether super technological or otherwise, has its limits. If the wearer has gotten beaten down enough to where their life is on the line, then the full suit they're wearing must have taken substantial damage as well. And as such, whether due to the drain of power, damage sustained to the device itself, an auto-shut down in order to keep itself going, or just a straight up technological error, the supersuit device will disperse.
