Anyway, random question. If they made a Kaiju monster from a video game, which line would it be under, D-Arts or MonsterArts?

Good question. Pokemon are monsters but are in D-Arts. But they're more cartoony. If they did Shadow of the Colossus monsters that would be tricky. I suppose they'd put them in D-Arts.

Here's another question: suppose Tamashii Nations got the Pacific Rim license. Would the monsters be in MonsterArts and the robots be in Super Robot Chogokin? Or would they all be in MonsterArts?

You can't know for sure which way they'd go, after all the sentai mechs are in SRC...

In the case of macross and evangellion, the mecha were robot damashii while the adversaries were proposed monsterarts. I guess they would follow suit for a Pacific Rim license. Then there's the Ultra-act model, put everything under one line. If that were the case, most likely all of the releases would be monsterarts.

Hmm...For Pacific Rim, I think SRC would be a solid choice to release them under.

First, high-five for knowing what I meant off the bat. Second, after the clusterfuck of complaints following Ghidorah and the smattering of ones for Biollante's size and price, no way in this universe Bandai is ever doing MonsterArts Orochi. :lol It would be nice if Yamato Takeru got MonsterArts love, but I have a feeling the response to the SHMA display the year Ikusagami was shown off was a lot more about the other figures present and not him.

The Vajra isn't in too bad a position yet, it showed up for the first time last fall. Give it more than a year with no word or appearance and then get worried.

The various Angels, especially Sachiel/whatever they call him in Rebuild, have appeared more than once. I bet at least one of them will finally happen in time.

Pokémon were originally considered for MonsterArts only for comparison to other potential SHMA concepts and because there was a potential issue with Pokémon and Digimon sharing the same toyline, which obviously smoothed over. As video game characters first and foremost, D-Arts always made the most sense as their home. It'll never happen but Shadow of the Colossus figures would probably end up in D-Arts. It's definitely a series of designs that would be in better hands with the MonsterArts crew, given their detail...

Everything for a line like Pacific Rim would probably be in MonsterArts. You don't see SRC Mechagodzillas and Moguera, after all. I could also see the value in splitting the line up and handing the Jaegers to the SRC team. Robot Damashii definitely wouldn't touch them.

Bluefin just confirmed they're bringing over Biollante. No price yet.

So much like the Eva Angels, rumor has it some other new prototypes will be on display very soon to gauge fan opinions. This time, it's Alien Vs. Predator figures at SDCC.

Hey folks, I just wanted to let everyone know that some of the Godzilla groups/sites are pushing for a Monsterarts Titanosaurus figure for the next Showa release on Bluefin's Facebook page. We're hoping this has the same effect that fans had with getting the upcoming Biollante release.

With all of the recently awesome announcements/reveals for the S.H. Monsterarts line including Biollante, Kiryu, Battra, Mothra, & Godzilla 2000, I'm still hoping Tamashii has a Titanosaurus in the works, since he placed well in last year's Bluefin poll. I think Titanosaurus will be disappointed if he doesn't get a Monsterarts figure soon & nobody wants to see that...

Got this in over the weekend and some early thoughts on the set.

-Sculpts and the painted details are ridiculously nice.
-The flying Destoroyah is my favorite of the set and arguably the best of the three!
-I'm kind of glad the smaller aggregate version is mostly a solid figurine. Parts would be next to impossible to find if they came off.
-Most of the parts stay on the two larger figures except for one or two small parts. I already resolved this with some clear nail polish on the ball joints.
-I wish the larger aggregate figure was scaled better to Junior.
-The flying version needed to come with a stand to display it proper.
-Beam effects would be nice too.
-With some free Amazon gift cards that I had saved, I'm glad I only paid $8 for this set, because the retail price is probably going to keep some collectors away, otherwise this would have been a good set to troop build for those that wanted multiples of the set.

Yeah the lack of a stand was a glaring omission on that set, and rather inexplicable considering the other releases consistently come with stands for their effects parts (or Rodan itself on the Fire Rodan release).

Den-O has had one on his Sales list for $60 shipped, for those that are interested. That's a LOT better than paying the $90 I paid for mine via BBTS. It's a nice enough set, just not a $90 "nice enough" set given what it does lack.

Very nice. They may not be that good toys but NECA's Pacific Rim stuff do fit in nicely with SHMA displays.

I missed out on AvP preorder on AmiAmi. If anyone can get me one of each I'd be very appreciative of that. I plan on getting them no matter what but I doubt I'll be able to find better prices than AmiAmi.

Not really interested in the AvP Monsterarts, but great for those that want them.

How long were you watching the figures? I know for a fact that Predator sold out and was restocked about 5 or 6 times. Alien probably a little less if not just as much. If you don't have a figinstock account, it's very helpful with these kinds of things.

Actually, I only learned about them recently since my interest lies with Figuarts mostly. I am willing to branch out to Monsterarts just for AvP though, because I've been a fan of the franchise for a long time.

The news hasn't been around too long. Pre-orders went up on the first. They're pretty much sold out everywhere by now I think. Bluefin will be distributing them too, so there's always that option.

Mire-Goji also rounds out the year's releases in December, at least in Japan. Bluefin's release shouldn't be out until January at the earliest.

The reason I asked about Mothra is that I could find nothing from that shot, which was taken from the current Akiba showroom display, that said anything about exclusivity. Even checked the Japanese source's blog and found nothing. Unlike Battra, Mothra's placard from her very first appearance at Sakai's table at WonderFest didn't claim she was exclusive, and I don't recall seeing anything next to the physical figure at Tamashii Nation '13 saying one way or the other.
