Literally made for a Battride War game, cause that season would just be Dynasty Warriors. |

RYUKENDOOOOO!!! Ryukendo is my jam, and Miike is my jammaster! My niece loves Pretty Cure (well, the Glitter Force version), if it ever got subbed (not likely), I'd be obligated to watch it! |
Whoops, wrong thread...

Ex-Aid's Doctor/Video Game theme really does not work. The show feels like it's struggling to balance both themes, resulting in them feeling very half-assed. It would of been better if they went with one theme or the other.

Toshiki Inoue's post-Agito shows aren't without merit or positivity and are far from the worst Heisei Rider shows. And Hibiki's second half didn't ruin the excellence of the first half and wasn't even that bad. |

Despite what people may believe, Doctors are not here to save lives. They are here to delay the inevitable. No matter what they, or anyone else, does, people will always die in the end and there's nothing that anyone can do to change that. Once they're gone, they're gone. This is in direct contrast with video games. In the video game world, death means absolutely nothing. Sure you may fall down a hole or get shoot a few time, Heck you might even lose all of you lives and get a game over, but that means absolutely nothing in the end. You can always push the reset button and try again, no matter how many times you die. You may get a penalty of some kind but death ultimately means nothing. In other words, you're correct. The Doctor Motif and the Video Game Motif don't go together. That's the point. The show forces you to look at Death from two completely different angles in order to examine it. |

To be fair, the connection between the two themes didn't become really clear until a pretty recent episode. As soon as Dan said, "I've created a type of medicine you doctors never could", the theme, and even why they killed Lazer off so soon, suddenly clicked for me. Ex-Aid is really an examination of how we treat death. |
Yeah, a couple months ago I would have agreed that Ex-Aid is a very confused show thematically, but lately they've really been tying everything together a lot nicer.
I mean, it was always clear to me from around a quarter in that Ex-Aid is about death (which btw considering Ghost was about life nicely supports my theory that Toei deliberately makes these shows foils to each other), but everything beyond that seemed a little shallow until recently. Like apparently fate is supposed to be a big theme? But even now it's mostly just a word they keep using. But as for the doctor/gamer thing, they absolutely fit together. Quite nicely, even, for reasons other people have kindly explained for me. It's the kind of thing that would probably seem more obvious on a second viewing. Case in point, I had it pointed out to me the other day that "I'll clear this with no continues!" is basically Emu pointing out he's only got one life to live. Blew my mind. |

I think it will be really interesting too if since beginning Toei make some Riders from Supporting Gashats like Gekitotsu Robots, DoReMiFa Beat, Jet Combat, GiriGiri Chambara, and Sharakiriki Sports because Supporting Gashats has Level 1 and Level 2 sounds in toyline. Yeah Ex-Aid series will has 13 Riders + Ride Players |
Ex-Aid is so heavy on its overarching plot that I think any major character of the week distractions would just irritate me honestly.
Speaking of character of the week plots though, while I like the ones in W by and large, I REALLLLLLY wish the Puppeteer Dopant episodes didn't exist. Is this an unpopular opinion or nah? |

On the other hand, while the show plays some of them sympathetically, the Bugsters are treated almost entirely as trouble to humanity at best or completely evil at worst. Long story short, Ryuki and Gaim were about selfish people doing selfish things for selfish reasons and how the main Rider was shaped and changed by coming into conflict with these people. For Ex-Aid though, the Rider vs. Rider part of the show is very much like the dancing in early Gaim. Its important in some ways but most just a prologue for things to come. If it wasn't for the fact that almost every major villain in the show is a Kamen Rider, Ex-Aid really wouldn't Rider vs. Rider Show. That being said, I would also be interested in a Ryuki/Gaim-esque take on Ex-Aid. |

But without the goofy helmet we can't have Gentarou's pompadour be safe D: From what I gather, the only thing concerning homosexuality about Japan is that they don't get gay marriage because they see it as "meaningless". However, you won't get shit for being gay there. The donut shop keeper's actor is gay irl and the voice actor for Dio since the 2012 JoJo adaptation is openly bisexual and currently has a boyfriend if I'm not mistaken |

While it did take me a bit to like the Fourze suits, I am glad others don't really like it. Only for the reason that it makes the gimmick line and figuarts cheaper.

What happen to my comment about the showa riders ?

I haven't had any Japanese gummies. Maybe the Rider ones are relatively juicy compared to the other options.

1. I'm fine with Kiriya's death
2. Gemn: Dangerous Zombie Level X should've come later 3. Gemn: Dangerous Zombie Level X-0 should've come WAY later 4. Black is meh 5. Level 3 should've been used more in Ex-Aid 6. Faiz is too confusing to watch 7. Decade is a fine series that I'd be okay re-watching 8. Gaim shouldn't have had Gaim Gaiden 9. Ghost was alright 10. Drive is my favorite series 11. Kamen Rider #1 & #2, #3, are all overrated when it comes to specials and team-up movies 12. I liked Hibiki's second half more then the first 13. Kamen Rider got WAY TOO MUCH time on Super Hero Year. Zyuogher and Super Sentai in general where overshadowed by complete trash 14. Kiva is meh 15. Kuuga was a pain to sit through 16. Agito would've been better if it wasn't a 'sequel' to Kuuga (still makes no sense, I don't remember how it was a sequel in the first place) 17. RX isn't even black, he's different shades of dark green. That alone has turned me away from the series 18. Den-O was shit to begin with 19. Decade was better then Di-End 20. Blade was boring and confusing 21. Gou and Chase should've gotten together. Screw Chase and Kiriko, I NEED Gase....Chou? Whatever their ship name is... |
Masked Rider is better than Dragon Knight.
*puts on boxing gloves* |
I feel like that I'm only one who does not want a PR style adaption for Kamen Rider. A lot of people have ask on which Rider series that should be adapted. I rather if Amazon Prime, Netflix or a cable TV network makes a original Kamen Rider show with no Japanese suits and stock footage. Having a original American Kamen Rider franchise would be cool.
