I just realized something. Go Busters has 5, technically 6 rangers with only one female. Considering Hasbro's gotten involvement, you think they'll make one of the beetles female?

The franchise is aimed at boys who will mostly want male toys.

Hasbro didn’t make Rey figures for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and got lambasted for it. There is no way they’ll make Red a girl or Pink a boy - especially not when Saban still makes the show.

ToQger doesn’t use its gimmick anywhere near enough to support such a gamble anyway.

Adding the extra female later on won't potentially drive away boys, as there'd only be one male ranger in the team. Granted it'd mean the opposite for girls but idk

Well, concerning trains, that's a different case. JRX was just 3 figures in a line filled with other cars, trucks, animals, and etc.
ToQger is exclusively trains. Even the train station figure can transform into a giant train. So to bring that show over would need to put a lot of faith that a line of just trains will sell.

So I kind of like the idea of the Rangers protecting the Morphin Grid, after multiple seasons of uncertain connection to previous teams or just straight up different universes, It's honestly refreshing to have some form of connection to the previous 23 teams that isn't a REALLY bad anniversary show.

I'll give this show a chance like I did with previous Neo-Saban shows but honestly if the first episode is like the first episode of Ninja Steel I'll drop it pretty quickly.

No, I mean it's NEVER going to be used. For one, Power Rangers is a kids show and Akibaranger is most certainly not. Second, there's not enough footage to use for a full season. Finally, most of the footage is unusable anyway.

Well if it's true that Hasbro is just going to buy Power Rangers out right from Saban after Beast Morphers then they could very well use Toqger or Akibaranger if they wanted too. And film new footage for the Power Rangers versions of them as well.

I like the theory it would be using all sorts of call backs. Make one of the mechanical rangers an Alpha series. Have the Silver Ranger be from KO-35. Have the Blue Ranger be Doggie Kruger's relative. Don't make them all so you need to know all of Power Rangers history to get it, but do them as Easter Eggs for the fans.

Yeah, Akibaranger isn't not being used because its too weird or whatever, it's because the footage is literally unusable. Most of the gags only work for the Japanese audience, and Power Rangers doesn't nearly have the brand stability to do an adult show.

If Hasbro does buy Power Rangers I think they wouldn't care. They have more money then Saban.

Hasbro does care how it spends it's money.

They aren't going to refilm an entire series. It defeats the purpose of buying footage from Toei.

Six/seven years back I remember very distinctly a lot of 'fans' (maybe it was purists) saying that RPM was what killed the franchise because that was Disney's influence, so when Saban took it back all were overjoyed. Or am I remembering that wrong?

Either way, lets see what an American....er...New Zealand cast can do with a series like this. I would love to see some deeper overtones in the story. If they keep to the lost parents/loved ones plot, then it could be excellent.

As much as I want Beast Morphers to be a sequel to RPM, it's gonna have to be a huge time skip since a lot of the actors in RPM either no longer live in New Zealand or are busy with other roles. In particular, Scott and Summer likely wouldn't be in it since Scott's a SAG member and Summer is doing iZombie.

So I didn't watch Go-Busters outside their crossover with Kyoryuger but a common note I kept hearing (and still after the announcement) in adapting Go-Busters is being difficult to do so because the suits were different than how they're usually made, in which I tilt my head in confusion. In what way how the Ranger suits looked or what material is made from "problematic" anyway?

I think it's because the material degrades faster than the usual stuff so the original costumes are getting pretty beat up
