Price point alone reflects the Lightning Collection being aimed at the older collectors. This isn't to say there aren't kids who aren't looking to get these, but just from price point it pretty much implies older ppl who have wallets with money in those wallets.

So Lord Drakkon is going to fly off shelves and if Hasbro is smart, he'll be a standard release figure since that is another big middle finger to BoA for making their's a Con Exclusive. I also expect secondary market prices for Legacy Drakkon to drop a bit.

What I am worried about is the line dying because of non MMPR related figures sitting on shelves and not selling.

The hardcore fans are going to buy them all, casual fans will buy the ones they know and care about. This isn't limited to MMPR. Some collectors could have been introduced to Power Rangers from one of the later shows. The kids will generally buy what's currently promoted, Beast Morphers, last are the uninformed ppl buying gifts.

So out of all that, this line is catering to the top tier, I just hope intereat isn't lost in the line due to lack of/already released all MMPR products. I will be honest, I haven't watched anything from Lost Galaxy to Wild Force, picked it back up with Dino Thunder and watched reruns of Ninja Storm during this time. Then I started losing interest with Operation Overdrive, picked it back up with Jungle Fury, but only caught episodes here and there of Samurai, Megaforce, etc... I still plan on getting each and every one I can get my hands and actually, it's giving me reason to check out older seasons.

But, point is Drakkon is a must and yeah... He will sell very well.

the last time i went to a toys r us they mostly JUST had white rangers and a few dino charge red's laying about, only one shadow ranger (which i managed to get)

So, I've been playing and have finished the Power Rangers game called "Battle for The Grid" ( didn't buy it)
I wonder if this game is influencing the current Hasbro Lineup...

I mean, we have a Gold Zeo Ranger, two representation of Tommy, Lord Drakkon on the way, the Pink Ranger, possibly her Ranger Slayer form coming and Dragon Shield Red.

I mean, I was completely unaware of who that Ranger Slayer was before playing the game as I never read any of the current comic books ( I read the one from the 90's). I wonder if I would have picked her up only because of her design.

I was aware of who Drakkon was because of a short live action movie I saw and I didn't know more of it. And I already wanted a Drakkon figure because his design is simply...well, gorgeous.

On a sidenote, I had the White Ranger Figuarts and I compared the Saba that came with the White Hasbro Ranger, it is about the same size, so I've decided to use the Figuarts Saba with the Hasbro White Ranger. It looks good.

I was wondering that as well, but then I realised that a lot of these characters are either cocurrent (the Boom comics characters are still going), or popular (the likes of Zeo Gold, Lord Zedd and Magna Defender will reach the top of a lot of peoples' lists). So I think it's mostly coincidence.

i mean this wouldn't be the first time hasbro has made a game to advertise a toyline, transformers devastation is basically an extended advertisement for combiner wars (and its also really good)

so it has a chance of not being coincidence, but currently 9 of the 15 characters in battle for the grid are getting toys, so

i still don't feel that SPC VULCAN just means "mmpr villain". why wouldn't blaze be categorized as BDY VULCAN if that's the case? i guess we'd have to learn what the codenames for zedd and goldar are

i mean i can't think of any mmpr characters whose name starts with v, but i don't really get why they would do that in this one case

Actually got a Lightning Collection Magna Defender from Walgreen's. I'm now fairly certain that Walgreen's is going to be the primary hub for Lighting Collection figures!

So was anyone here able to snag an order off of Hasbro Pulse?

Long story short from midnight to 5am (pacific time) I was refreshing the page, then slept for six hour. Though I remember waking up a a little and checked at around 7, it was still not up yet. After waking up at 11am it was already sold out.

So if you were able to pick one up when did the listing go up? For future reference.

It went up right at 12:00pm EST for me. I checked repeatedly through the morning and it was saying "Sold Out" but from what I read about other exclusives they did like this previously, it says sold out as a placeholder before ever going up to begin with. It went live right at 12:00 and was sold out for real a short time later, somewhere between 15-30 minutes I think.

I'm a little bummed that Hasbro Pulse is only available in the US/Canada, I sure would have bought a lot of their merchandise if it was available for European territories.

I checked in with Hasbro Pulse yesterday from Midnight, to Noon. I work nights at an IT call center and it's slow so luckily I was able to check every 15 minutes, but it wasn't until well after I got home that I snagged one at noon.

I then decided to pick up a second set at around 12:11, and they were already sold out.

Still check today at noon, because that could have been just an early thing they did for just the premium members. To my understanding they might have more today, but be quick.

What was supposed to be going up?

The MMPR Armored Red and Zeo Gold 2-pack. It went up yesterday first for Hasbro Pulse Premium members and sold out fast, and some more stock of it is going up today for everyone else who's not a premium member. It went up at 12:00pm EST for the premium members yesterday so there's a good chance that today's stock will go live at that time too. I won't be surprised though if it sells out even faster since now it's open for everyone.

Sold out in less than three minutes. But I got 'em. :rock:

Ooo; Psycho Blue is tempting, I must admit... I'm just surprised and happy we're getting them in the UK period.

Knowing ID, it's liable to be a bit of grey import from the suppliers, so nothing official. With that decent a price, though, wouldn't surprise me if it was legit and they make it to somewhere like ForbiddenPlanet.

Yeah, if it was an import then I'd expect a markup. I remember exactly what Kapow done with Titans Return Arcee... so that's why this is surprising me.

I like that this line is ramping up, but I want more villains announced. Zedd, Putties, and Goldar are great. Psycho Rangers are great, but kind of just more of the same. I want some monsters of the week or some 2nd in commands like Goldar or Squatt and Baboo.

Monsters of the week are probably out of the question, considering the sheer number of them, unless they're iconic or memorable. Second in commands, possible, but not for a long time (although we got Goldar recently, so maybe not that far off).

Personally, I want some more grunts, as unlikely as they might be released. I particulary want some Cyclobots or some Kudabots. I love their designs too much.

I would love some monsters of the week! The more villains the better, in my opinion.

I admit I'm definitely relying on the Beast Morphers main retail line for my fix there. Lots of generic monsters for 10 quid a pop? Very happy with that. Don't think I'd be happy paying £20 for Turbotron or whoever...

At least if you give me the grunts ( putty and others) and the villain's sidekick ( Scorpina, Roxy and Blaze) I'm good with that.

Question: is the LG Red/Psycho Red two-pack a retailer exclusive?

Originally it had been revealed through the Best Buy website, so we all assumed it could only be gotten there. Yesterday however it went up at BBTS and on Hasbro Pulse. So like the Green/Putty set it seems like it'll be readily available with several retailers.

PsychoBlue's up on KapowToys for the same price as normal figures, so presumably there is some kind of official import going on. They also have the LG Red / Psycho Red up listing as Hasbro UK stock, so this makes a nice change from the situation I'm usually reading about in the UK.

I'm counting the Fighting Spirit Green Ranger as a Dino Thunder release because come on, does MMPR really need the bias? Even without it, it's sitting at ~43% (split 29% Series 1 and 9.5% Series 2, with the last 5% being Lord Drakon). Beast Morphers is the other notable chunk, at 14%. The Zordon Era, despite running for 6/26 years, takes up more than half (57%) the graph, and then Lost Galaxy and Dino Charge each have as many as the entire Disney Era (10%). Does all of this mean anything? Probably not.

I'm a little disappointed at the case ratios:

This explains why I've never seen a Lord Zedd figure in store. Hasbro knows MMPR sells. Why make both shortpacked figures collector favourites?

I fear Hasbro might be over-saturating the market with too many figures at once. There's no way I can afford to buy all these figures nor request them all as gifts around the holidays.

I don't like it either, but I think that is 100 percent intentional on Hasbro's part. Overwhelming the collector so they can't/don't want to buy anything else that's out there.
