Has anyone received their copy of this yet? Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
|
Mine only just shipped this morning. Looking forward to it!
|
Mine is showing up tomorrow.
|
Mine also just shipped this morning (from Play-Asia)
|
Mine should also be here by tomorrow. Ended up spoiling myself since a friend got their copy digitally and has been streaming it, but have been enjoying what I've seen a lot.
|
Mine's showing up tomorrow too! Definitely gonna be streaming it this weekend!
|
The game is fun, though there's little annoyances that keep getting in the way so far for me. Most of it is is needless dialogue cut-ins after you complete a fight.
|
For those who have the game: Did we get any new Greeed/were the other CSM combos in it?

I really liked the bit at the beginning where you walk around without having transformed yet. The combat system is solid so far, and after having played about an hour I've already had 2 boss fights and gotten access to a few form changes. Overall I'm definitely enjoying it, but I do wish you didn't have to level up your Riders separately, like there was a shared xp system or something. |
Yeah I think the game's biggest issue right now is its constant desire to make every non-combat moment into a cut scene. It loves taking you out of gameplay to either have a small moment saying you completed or are about to complete a task, show you're blocked from progress, show enemies spawning or invisible barriers vanishing, etc. when it can do most to all of that through dialogue and the game loading things in real time, which it can do easily.
Outside of that, the combat itself is tons of fun especially as you unlock more form swaps and upgrade your characters. Pulling off combos by swapping forms mid-fight is really great. The targeting mechanic that looked kinda weird or clunky in gameplay demos doesn't even feel that way, either. It's all enjoyably smooth. |
Pacing is pretty alright, it could be better.
Though I'll be honest, normal combat is pretty fun. Though Boss combat varies on how much I enjoy their patterns and arena's, because man, get used to dodging and finding openings cause that's basically all the boss fights. Except for one particular one halfway through, he sorta just melted as I used my newly acquired form. Speaking of bosses though, wowie they really went out of their way to bring back as many Dopants and Yummy's as possible. |
Mine is shipping to me currently, though I still haven’t finished Zero-One, so I may wait a bit before starting it. I’m glad everyone who has gotten their copies has enjoyed it so far!
|
Dodge being assigned to R2 (PS4) was a bad choice. It should be O.
Basically what I'm saying is, Kazari keeps kicking my face in. |
Yeah Kazari's one of the rougher fights to be honest. At least for me as well.
Him and any fight that takes place with multiple objects in the middle of the arena. They do not help at all in regards to dodging and trying to hide behind stuff only works out some of the time. |
Currently about 3 hours into the game and I'm having alot of fun with it! So far Tatoba is super OP.
|
If anyone here is getting a PS5 at launch will you say how the game will look on it?
|
According to TV-Nihon, both Japanese and SEA versions have English subs, contrary to what most people believed.
|
But are the menu's and instructions in English for the Japanese version?
Cause that's mostly my issue with games like these. It made a few characters in prior Battride War games a bit hard to fully play with because their special techniques or forms weren't in English so it was a guessing game of which form you were using. |
I can't answer that until I import the game but the form change wheel clearly shows each form visually so that shouldn't be a problem.
If the gameplay menus and instructions are in Japanese, it's probably just simple katakana anyway. |
:(
Still waiting on my copy from Play-Asia. Doesn't even seem to have left the warehouse yet. Did anyone else who ordered from PA get their copy in the US yet? (I got the regular Asia edition) |
Yeah I got mine last tuesday. (I've also been stuck since wednesday, lol)
|
They might've run out of copies to ship and are trying to get more.
Cause I know that was cited as a reason when I checked as to why it didn't ship like immediately, immediately on launch day. And then I got it on Tuesday last week. |

--- And I'm currently 10 hours in and uh, lemme tell y'all, it is VERY obvious that Zero-One was only added into the game because they had to. |
Very much so, he has no actual plot relevance in this game.
That being said though, his interactions with the others are on point and I enjoy when we get them. Also I'll be real when I say that Zero-One is the most fun to play as. I was constantly using him whenever I could, which is hard because not long after you get him your forced by the game to be either W and OOO for like an entire level. |

Welp, I'm definitely one of the unlucky ones. The game looks out of stock on PA for 2-4 weeks and they are now offering free shipping on the title if you buy it this week. |

Aruto is fun to play. His forms are decent, and feel more streamlined to use compared to OOO and W. But I admit I haven't chosen to use him much unless called for... The game is definitely more of a fan-service/love-letter for OOO and W fans - moreso than I expected! It's pretty great. definitely worth my money! I got the regular SE English version (would've got the deluxe version if there was an eng one on the PA site). But it still has some BGM, recognizable stuff. Enough to put a nostalgic smile on my face while I'm playing. The form change gimmick is solid. A lot of fun, easy to figure out. Fights aren't insane but they aren't all super easy either. I'm more of a casual gamer really so that works. Looking forward to testing out the survival mode once I beat the story. I'd love to see more KR games like this in the future over something like a vs fighter. Someone suggested "Magic of Friendship" with Fourze and Wizard (feat. Saber)! Yes PLEEEEASE! ;) OH, I will say I got the early order codes, but can't redeem them since I'm in the states... One would need a PSN account registered for that region to DL the bonus content right? |

For the PS4, yes, you will need to have an SEA account to install the pre-order bonus. I went with Taiwan.
For Switch, I have no idea. Sorry! |
I'd love to see another game like this, honestly. Tightened up a bit, less rigid-feeling target mechanic, less stalling for cutscenes, but keep the combat system the same and keep the story involved like this and I'd say they can do plenty of stuff like this.
Especially if they're okay with getting VAs to cover for past actors. I'd love to see this gameplay style applied to someone like Fourze or Build and their module form changes. |

I'm totally on board for Kamen Rider Magic of Friendship although I think two Riders with a fire elemental dragon motif would be redundant. Maybe replace Wizard with Drive instead. A teacher, a cop and a novelist.
Imagine riding around the map in the Tridoron changing forms depending on terrain with either CPU Fourze or Saber riding shotgun and using their abilities for support. Add some other Riders like Meteor, Nadeshiko, Mach and Blades and I think that sounds like a cool idea for a sequel! |
I think the thing is, both W and OOO are absurdly popular which is probably how this game got greenlit in the first place. So a sequel would need other popular riders like, say... Den-O, Build, Faiz, Kuuga. Wizard and Fourze really aren’t on the same level.
|
I was pretty surprised when they announced Accel and Birth in the game. They play great too. I feel pretty invincible as Accel Booster form! It's pretty rad too seeing secondary riders in the game, not to mention getting to play them as well! I'd love to see more of that. Fingers crossed that this game does well enough to warrant some kind of sequel with other riders! With this form-change mechanic, no reason you can't include someone OG in the mix too like KUUGA!
Id be very curious to see how they'd incorporate more neo-heisei gimmicks n forms because there are just so many to pick from! They would have to streamline it some like they did w zero-one. Main forms n power-ups only. But it'd still be fun! Looking forward to fighting Zeus (Berserk mode) tonight. Pretty sure I'm almost done w the story! I don't want it to end though hah |

Hmm, a Build, Ex-aid and Saber would also quite exciting!

Since more of you have this game now, I'd like to ask for some tips. (There's oddly little discussion of this game on the internet that I've found)
So I'm stuck on the Kazari fight about 2 hours into the game. Obviously I'm stuck playing as OOO for this fight. My OOO is lvl4, and I have all his upgrades except the 2nd one for his Gatakiriba form. I'm a casual gamer, and not exactly a patient one. Like Dark Souls is not my jam, but I do get that dodging around and not just eating hits is the name of the game when it comes to these boss fights. So having said all that, is there a better form of his two to use against Kazari? Should I use the armor breaking special item, or the one that gives more HP? Is there a particular move of OOO that is more useful against Kazari compared to another? Any help would be appreciated. |

I spent a lot of time dancing around the edges of the arena. His tornados last about 5 seconds and progress outward. Id keep back until I could make it through those to hit him a few times then back away again, repeat. Execute counters whenever you can. I am pretty sure I used the armor atk buff too. That Kazari fight really is a pain in the butt, BUT you'll feel like a champ once it's over! |
A couple of the Showa Riders would work well in this battle system too. Mainly Super-1 and Black RX.
