Given we know they upload both episodes at around the same time but the second one is privated. They probably forgot the other one had the flub after fixing the first one.

These are probably the most obvious errors -- the animals the OOO driver calls out being straight-up wrong and sometimes even inconsistent. I'm not even sure how this would happen since it's pretty clear which animals they're calling out? Is 'Taka' also used for Eagle and 'Tora' for Lion in some parts of Japan?

Then there's an array of grammatical errors and clunky wording...

"are completely destroyed" instead of "have" or "were"; "is my friend since this morning" instead of "has been my friend" or "we've been friends"; 'Greeed' without 'the' could be put down to a stylistic choice, but it's definitely odd. Just a fair bit of sloppy translation scattered around here.

Then you've also got some straight up mangled meaning, like this:

Mezool is pretty well aware that Ankh exists! Like, he's not some mythical unknown entity to the rest of them; he was part of the gang at one point! What's actually supposed to be being conveyed here is that she didn't think he was still alive, so this is a pretty big blunder and you really get the wrong idea about the relationships of these characters.

Something that just hit me, is they're only doing Saturday uploads now.

Because they were doing Showa on Friday's and Heisei on Saturday's. So it feels weird and kind of slow? Especially given we're only like I think 11 Heisei Riders in with Faiz getting Episode 2 this Saturday.

So just based on that and if they don't update anytime soon then... we'll probably be finishing on October 30th.

Sounds good to me. Hasbro has blocked the Ranger shows possibly so I hope to start the Rider franchise up once I finish Kira Mage.

This has kinda been accurate to my experience! For some like Den-O and Wizard and OOO you get some... strange translation choices including outright obvious errors, and then on others like Kuuga and 555 it's excellent with a lot of care taken. Very hit and miss!

I really need to catch up on the Rider shows they're dropping on the channel. I haven't seen any since Hibiki, which were amazing by the way. I still have the other Showa and early Heisei shows to watch.

Toei desperately needs to get their act together about getting serious in bringing KR to the U.S. Tsuburaya is making laps around them in that area.

I've said this before, but Team Kamen Rider only exists to make it easier for toys to be sold here in the U.S. They aren't nearly as interested in the shows or movies themselves.

Yeah the thing is... and I think it's something someone here pointed out, actually? But Ultraman is basically all TsuPro's got; recently it's been doing decently with Gridman but generally speaking Ultraman is all it's got to its name, so if it wants to grow and profit as a company it needs to invest in a global market.

Toei though... like. Toei Animation alone has Precure, Digimon, One Piece and Dragon Ball. It kinda doesn't need help! It can afford to be pretty lax on expanding one of its properties to a worldwide market, and that's basically where we're at here

I don't think TKR doesn't care about getting KR streaming consistently, I think it's more that it's a "Currently out of our hands" kind of situation. The most they can do is show that it's wanted. The rest is literally up to Toei.

THAT ALL SAID...this stream didn't need to exist. The topic was fine, but the attempt to get people to tune into it was basically a huge bait-and-switch that I really didn't care for. Especially when by the end it basically became an ad for Suicide Squad. James Gunn having respect for and understanding the nuance behind tokusatsu and not just going "Oh, this is over the top and silly!" is very good and does make him a good ally to have in Hollywood if we wanna see Kamen Rider gain more recognition.

But when that's all you've got and the stream becomes "Hey, share my tweet with the interview in it and also go watch Suicide Squad in theaters tonight!", it comes off as shill-y despite the intentions. I like Gunn, but if I want anything big to happen to KR here, I'd want it to be the Shin Kamen Rider film getting a theatrical run in the states.

If the stream were actually promoted as a discussion about Kamen Rider's potential in the west with some words from James Gunn, or even just say it's from a big Hollywood name and then keep it secret until then, I'd have WAY less of an issue with how it played out. As is, this was head-scratching.
