A LOT Of people thought Revice would be athleticism/sports themed (TBF Jaenne is martial arts themed but that's a bit of a stretch) when the name got leaked and it wasn't hard to guess Zi-Os motiff considering the timing and the name and Zero-One would be technology-themed , a lot of people thought Ex-Aid would be doctor/ambulence themed(which on one hand couldn't be farther from the truth in terms of rider design but on the other Emu's a pediatrician and Hiiro's a Surgeon)

As for me I kinda wanted a dinosaur themed rider for year so when I found out what Revice was going to be themed after I Was like "YES" only to be disappointed when I found out it was just animals

I think the fully dinosaur-themed Kamen Rider series is more fitting with prehistoric animal archaeology and human-extinction as a main storyline.

My assumption is Toei are planned to make Revice series as a fully dinosaur-themed Kamen Rider series but later, Toei decided to make a demon as a main storyline in Revice series.

It is funny, Revice and Geats in a row are both super hard to parse names without context... Before those it feels like it's been a bit since we've had a rider name where we really couldn't gather much about the series at all... Like I think "Ex-Aid" might have been the last SUPER weird one even if a lot of people guessed medical theming... though honestly "Build" was the most recent one where I personally like I had no idea what the show was going to be thematically just because "build" is such a broad term lol. I think I assumed Build would be construction worker themed when I first saw the name but thay was waaaaaay off lol

I think they will make Rider Indiana Jones sooner or later. But paleontology is also a wonderful theme for the season.

By the way, it's strange that they didn't. It seems that there are a lot of toys on the topic of construction equipment. At the same time, they would do a homage (or even a crossover) to the rescue teams from Metal Heroes.

We did get that theme with Boukenger. But the only archaeologist Rider so far is Nitou, before he became Beast anyway. I could imagine a Rider like a modern Amazon, with powers from ancient relics and a plot that delves in to tombs and stuff like that.

Returning to Geats, I will express my theories based on unconfirmed rumors:
1) I can very well imagine how the plot of Beowulf works for the season. The first enemy or boss defeated in the first half of the show is Grendel, who breaks into the party and threatens Rider and his friends. When Grendel is destroyed, his mother becomes the main boss. In the finale, she awakens an evil dragon, which will scare the audience with a dozen episodes. But the main Rider and his friends, of course, will defeat him too. It turns out that it is clearly not the best season in terms of dramaturgy, but it definitely follows the outline of history.
2) Or maybe, if this is the theme of the Goths, which are historical, then they will take as a basis not Beowulf, but the Nibelungs? Somehow the plot is more interesting.
3)If you believe the theme of the Vikings, then the colors in the picture (which also cannot be trusted, but what if?) are most likely taken not from my country, but from Sweden. Then it is easy to assume that other riders will also be made in the colors of the Scandinavian countries. This means that the second Ryder will be white and red, the third will be red-white-blue, and the fourth (don't ask why I decided that it would be a girl, I don't know myself) - ... blue-white-red. Most likely she will be made siblings with the third and introduced together. But I will still hope that the colors are not Swedish.

Frankly, it sounds too much like the back half of Ex-Aid to be real. And didn't Shirakura say that KR was moving away from legacy-based series?

And anything that brings in Beowolf is gonna be suspect to me until more solid rumors come out.

Personally, I find it strange that:
1) Other than Geats, no one else has a name;
2) No explanation for the Geats name;
3) Why is Beowulf a wolf, if the name means "bee wolf" that is, a bear?
4) How then to be with the drawings, where there was clearly a bee?
5) Thor is clearly superfluous. You need to either remove him, or make the rest also Nordic characters. And so a strange distortion is obtained. Unless he will be the secondary ... But it seems to me that then Beowulf would have been made the secondary.

Also why Nobunaga? Isn't Musashi the best choice from a hero's point of view?

A lot of this rumor feels very reverse engineered from the existing info we have.

The part where all the other riders being based on "cultural warriors" is very much building off the idea that Geats is based on Beowulf.

Geats transformation item separating into a Wolf and an Axe clearly comes from that supposedly leaked description of him resembling Build with a Wolf and an Axe for eyes.
- Also, if both the Animal and Weapon are tied to the identity of the Riders (i.e Geats' base form can only be formed using the Wolf and Axe item, same for Arthur with the Horse and Sword item), how are the mandatory Q1 side forms supposed to work for any of them? Or are we supposed to believe they all swap the animal/weapons halves of their gimmick item with each other (despite the premise being them all competing with each other) to obtain their side forms?

The "1 returning Rider with their Driver and an upgrade." is also based on the supposed the Build connection.

Kiva was not called Kiba. Sometimes the names of the Ryders are not spelled correctly. That is why Geats can be absolutely anything.

It did, but that hasn't stopped rumors and "leaks" from spreading regardless.

Maybe they will have internal diversity? For example, the base form of Geats is "Wolf + Axe", and other forms are "Coyote + Tomahawk", "Arctic Wolf +Labrys ", etc. Same with the other Ryders. This would explain why Thor has only a bird and not a specific species.

The katakana for Kiva and Kiba are exactly the same, キバ. There isn't really a "v" sound in Japanese, so it's usually substituted with a "b" sound. It was only the stylized English spelling that was modified, but not even -- kiva is still a valid transliteration of キバ.

The katakana for KR Geats is ギーツ, or "giitsu." The katakana for the Swedish Geats is ギース, or "giisu." Those are two totally different words. In English it would be like saying that because internet and internal are spelled similarly, they can be used interchangeably. Which, I'm sure you'd agree, is ridiculous.

It's far more likely that Geats/ギーツ is a portmanteau of two English words, like "geek" and "beats." Or maybe it's a portmanteau of a Japanese word and an English word, like "gin" (silver) and "cheats." Like... maybe Geats wears a karate gi-inspired suit and transforms using meats. Even that ridiculous notion is more likely than Geats referring to a Scandinavian myth that no Japanese five year-old has ever heard of or would ever care about in a million years.

I'm simply not buying the Beowolf thing. It is clearly the product of fans searching "geats" in English Google, seeing that the word relates to Beowolf's Swedish clan as literally the first hit, and then drawing the laziest possible conclusion that this Rider must be Beowolf-themed.

Now, if it turns out that I'm wrong, then I will happily eat crow. But I've been around in Tokusatsu fandom long enough to have seen this exact same cycle play out every single time a Sentai or a Kamen Rider show has a not-easily-discernable title. And what is almost certain to happen is that "Geats" will mean something far less cool and much weirder than Beowolf, and fans will feel betrayed because they had all these badass ideas for a Beowolf Rider, and it will sour the perception of the show before it's ever released.

Mark my words. This happens pretty much every year.

Battle Royale? Again?

Now I'm waiting for some concrete evidence, so I'm not going to get too attached to these rumors.

That said, if this was (in the unlikely scenario) what Geats was going to be, I feel like the battle royale premise feels generic compared to Ryuki, Gaim, even Ex-Aid, as it would have to do more than just "battle royale that has a dark secret" to be convincing.

I also believe the Build angle draws from the supposed mockup of the helmet, and while I wouldn't be opposed to that style, it is really similar to Saber, in both design and theme.

The "returning character" is a detail I would honestly love to see, though it lines up to what I heard some people mentioning about riding (heh) Sentai's trail with DonBrothers. Whether it happens or not, so long as it's done well, I wouldn't mind it.

On that note, the Legend Rider thing isn't necessarily off the table, since the 50th Anniversary celebrations will be going on until Shin Kamen Rider in 2023, so it wouldn't surprise me if early Reiwa ends up like New Generation Ultra, or what Sentai might be doing with doing Legend Sentai until their 50th Anniversary.

Now, if this does end up being what Geats is, then I'll talk more about it, but for now, I'm going to wait for Toei to surprise us (remember Ryusoulger?).

I feel like I've been losing my mind seeing so many people buy into the Beowulf angle, when it has no backing at all and is a theory solely pitched by western fans

I don't believe in the Beowulf theory myself. Moreover, I believe that even if the Geats are a reference to the Germanic tribes, then the Nibelungs are much more suitable for the plot with many Riders. But I don't think it's all that pessimistic. For example, last year there were many rumors that the Zenkaigers would be based on insects. But when it turned out that this was not the case, somehow no one was particularly sad, everyone switched to new theories. It's just that right now nothing is known about Rider, and people want to talk about him. So, I'm sure, as soon as even a logo appears, the Beowulf theory will be forgotten or postponed until the next similar case.

Geats - is a sequel to Kamen Rider G from 2009, where the main character, instead of wine, becomes a food taster. If anything, this is just a crazy theory that should not be taken seriously. But with so many fans sighing for Shinobi, I will still say that I see potential in the history of the amnesiac wine sommelier.

Like how Fourze's Switches all had 4 different shapes corresponding to a specific slot. So the canine items would only be compatible with axe, bird items with hammer, etc. I like that idea.

I know right! Ryusoulger was deceptively good, for a show that resembled Kyoryuger on the surface. Ryusoulger taught me to look beyond first impressions and stereotypes, to see the bigger picture. So, no matter what Geats ends up being, I feel obliged to give it the chance it deserves.

I mean, when there's virtually no other clear angles to speculate from, I'm not surprised they'd focus on this one, especially since it has that immediate cool factor that could have potential for a Rider show. Besides, if Geats could be "anything", that would logically include viking culture as well. Even if Geats is something totally different, those rumors might still inspire fanfics.

To be fair regarding the rumors, wasn't it a facebook or instagram user that shared the suit design rumor? I remember it was the same page that somehow found out out and shared that Revice's final form item was called Giffard Rex before it was revealed and shared that Kuuga's Titan Sword would be the first item for CSG about a week or two before it's reveal.

Of course, that doesn't mean it's automatically correct for Geats, but it does give a little more creditability considering they've gotten things right recently.

That being said. Waiting for more actual news is the only way to find out what Geats will really be about. I'm just more surprised we haven't gotten a full description of Geats yet. I remember for Zero-One someone shared the description of the suit design (I remember it being compared to Bumblebee from Transformers before even a picture was revealed), and InfoBox shared Saber's suit before it was officially revealed, and last year CraneJoe gave a full description of Revice like a week after the trademark came out.
