Thanks! I got another of Akiba Red which I'll upload tonight maybe. Got some Tamashii Act 4 and Trident stages so I'm gonna start experimenting with more dynamic poses. Also plan to get some of those Saint Seiya Myth Cloth DX Stages from Amazon for full Sentai teams. haha.

Edit: Finally cracked open Super Akiba Red after some months and he's got the new Kamen Rider hip/thigh set-up and it works pretty well but I don't have pictures of him in action...

That is by far one of the more annoying things about the latest Power Rangers show. Everything has to be 'Super Mega'.

Due to Power Rangers toys being inexpensive comparatively - it cost me less than a tenner for these two combined - I decided to pick up two figures which both deserve the Figuarts treatment but may actually never get it. Neither of them are great, they have limited articulation, hands that aren't quite right for their own weapons and the kind of general bad engineering you come to expect from BoA products. But as said, as inexpensive placeholders you could do way worse.

First is this metallic red Megaforce Red - I bought him more for Alata *hey I can be THAT GUY when it comes to a show with no love at all* and although my phone camera does it no justice the metallic paint makes him look AWESOME.

Seeing Raz's Vekar reminded me how awesome Warz Gill's suit design is and by extension how much I love the Warz Gill Figuarts, so I played around with my villain Figuarts a little.

Basco and Warz Gill are both two of my favourites, but they never came face to face in the show! It'd be awesome to one day get a Barizorg, Damaras or even Insarn to accompany Warz Gill. The Gokaiger villains' designs are pretty much universally awesome. We need more Sentai villains!

Yeah, the head was photoshopped in. I gotta fix it though cuz it still looks like it was just pasted on there. Didn't think about the light source when I did it.

How are the Gokaiger figuarts in hand? In terms of the males, I really didn't like the look of the photos - the proportions of the bodies were weird, and oddly feminine to boot plus the paint looked really inconsistent. It's just EVERYONE seems to own at least Gokai Red if not more and I never hear any complaints, but he just doesn't look that great to me.

Wish I had some Gokaigers. From what I see, they look ok. But then again I'm no authority, as I've never seen the source material. Megaforce is my best reference point.

I love the Gokaiger molds; to me they, along with the Jetman and Zyurangers, are the best molds we've gotten. They've got fantastic articulation and awesome accessory counts (five sword combo for Joe, Navi for Don, Combined Guns for Ahim and Combined Swords for Luka plus Darins and Luka's Whip Swords with every girl and Darins with most Red/Blue/Greens) and really accurate sculpts as well, at least to me.

That said, I have seen quite a few complaints of Gokai Green's legs breaking. My 6 Gokaigers are the Figuarts I've played around with the most and I have nothing like that, not even a loose joint so it only affects some. Its a shame though, because if you were only to get one, I'd recommend Don because an articulated Navi is basically the coolest accessory ever.

I only have Gai and I freaking love the figure. It's got great poseability, it has a nice accessory account, I think it looks pretty close to the actual suit outside of being a bit slimmer (that's bound to happen with toys some times), and all around he just looks pretty. Plus if you pose him with his spear right, you can make it look like he's playing a guitar, and that is fucking awesome.

They don't look very accurate to me. The heads look really small, and those extremely small waists in proportion to the large hips look really funky and feminine. Plus at least on Marvelous he doesn't even have the same colour boots as he does jacket and helmet, that seems weirdly sloppy to me. The accessories do sound like they balance it somewhat, though.

They all seem fine to me. Sometimes I feel like they look better than the actual suits. If you look at the actual suits (EXAMPLE), they look like they have alot of padding going on in the upper torso or just looks a bit loose. You gotta consider that the coat makes the hips look bigger because that is a separate part of the suit. Plus their belts look like they're on pretty tight in the example posted. The only issue I have are the hip joints for Red and the females. Red's hips have broken on me a couple times already and the female hips felt exactly how Red's was before they broke.

how did the joints feel before they broke off? i have two gokai reds and the one i currently display has one leg wayy looser than the other but im not sure if i should be nervous or if i just got one with loose joints.

aha Had to be done. Loved the series too much not to do it.

Loose hip joint. One leg would was just looser to move. Broke both times when I attempted to pop it off the joint. There were no cracks or anything visibly wrong before that.

Optics, been checking out your galleries aside from the forums, and man, you do great work. I still say you've pretty much done every cool pose to do with the current crop of Figuarts. It's a race to get figures, shoot them, then post pics, all before you do. Good on ya doc!:thumb:

They are not perfect but I really like em. The Shoulders are really weird to handle. If you get the chance I say go for the Hurricanegers but these two are still pretty awesome figures.
