They only started doing it recently with Z and Tiga/Z Chronicle! And they don't just put them there either; it's a simulcast -- it airs on a stream as it's being broadcast on TV

If they're following the pattern they established last year, though, episodes will only be online for two weeks.

Yeah though if Z is starting something different with how they're distributing newer Ultraman shows, then we could see Trigger pop up next year permanently during reruns like they've been doing with Z.

It is finally done... I'm done with Dyna. And too bad it didn't end greatly.

Now I know my personal life kept me distracted from finishing the series a little quicker, but disregarding that, Dyna was still a slog to go through. I'd compare it to going through Ace, except Dyna got better as it went on. Compared to Tiga, Dyna was a huge step down. Not only it went with terrible comedic writing, but it was getting so boring I was forcing myself to watch it. It was so boring that an episode about a kid alien was considered great.

But as I noted befored, Dyna got better by the mid of the series and that's when I really got hooked to watch more of it without getting bored. The writing was more refined, the comedy was reduced and the characters don't act like obvious idiots. It wasn't perfect, but it was a step in the right direction, but it is unfortunate you have to endure the first half until you reach the good parts. Doesn't mean everything in the 2nd half was gold as it contains the worst episode in my opinion.

I wasn't a big fan of Super GUTS. The members were mostly bland and forgettable and the most memorable feature about is exaggerated comedic reactions and yelling. Even the captain wasn't that great and captains are usually some of my favorite members. Shin Asuka falls into that as well. He's not one of the better hosts and his comedy didn't hook me in until he dropped the act. I'm also not a fan of how he was chosen as a host. It felt like there was no thought behind it. "He wants to see the light? Good enough". Even Dyna wasn't that impressive. He was basically Tiga 2.0 without anything that sets him apart in a similar manner to the Showa Ultras who stood out from each other. Dyna's gimmick was the same as Tiga with similar abilities and forms and the same color-codes.

Special effects... I'll say it was worse than Tiga just because they went ahead and used CGI water in that one episode. I mean c'mon how desperate were they to not use real water? Also Dyna's CGI models...

Something positive for a change: Best episode out of all the series was episode 29 "In the Light of Fate". A much needed character building for Asuka and the starting point of his growth for the rest of the series. Other episode that I'd call great are: ep. 20. "Alien Boy", eps. 35 and 36. "The Smile of Destruction", ep. 38. "Monster Drama", ep. 39. "The Light and Shadow of the Youthful".

Worst episode is ep. 42. "Ephemeral Dream". Being a silly comedy would be 1 thing, but the fact this one was just a dream is what killed it. The worst kind of filler that brings nothing.

I don't have a particular kaiju to call a favorite here. Closest thing would be Geomos. Favorite alien is easily Gregore. Worst ones? Eh, take your pick but since it's the worst episode then it'd be Regoran Zoaka and everything related to that.

Ultraman Chronicle Z ended today. For a recap show about Tiga and Z it spent like half or more episodes talking about other Ultras than Tiga and Z themselves thanks to Hiroshi Nagano's agency. We had at the top of my head: Zero, Gaia, X, R/B and Orb to fill in the slot couldn't be covered with Daigo-less Tiga.

Makes sense as it airs a day earlier than SHT

That's pretty much the style of Chronicle shows. They may have main Ultra but they would often use other Ultras that has a relation with the featured Ultras as a way to fill up the episodes.

For example in Orb Chronicle they had episodes from X (iirc) simply because X teamed up with Orb and is a part of Orb Trinity.

In a position to get some older Rider and Ultra vinyls, but I'm not familiar with "Ultraman Shadow"! Is anyone familiar with this "Proto-Belial"?

He's from Ultraman Zearth 2 movie. Zearth is an official paordy Ultra.

Shame that Covid happened because they were actually on a legitimate roll with improving the Chronicle shows.

Like after R/B aired we got a cute and unique premise of Pega and Booska sitting in a movie theater and watching New Gen Ultra's do their stuff with little skits. It felt more realized.

Then for the most part with Zero and Geed Chronicle, they had this really funny but cool setup of "Zero invited Riku to learn more about himself and Ultra's at a school named Beyond School. And it's a lot of fun classroom related skits, even alien students showing up, more Ultimate Force Zero interactions, we even get people like Leito and Juggler dropping by to hilarious results, its' real good.

One of my favorite bits is the alien students thinking they can take on Riku who's by himself in a dodgeball match only for one of them to get immediately hit by a fastball. Cut to Riku casually tossing the ball in his hands as Belial's theme plays menacingly in the background.

Of course that had to get canned completely towards the end due to Covid suddenly hitting but it was still a fun premise. And I can't wait till we can get back to something that unique and creative with these recap shows.

Lets not forget about the music too. It shame Hero Odessey just simple reused Ultra Spiral when the last couple of years we gotten some bangers out of them.

Just watched Tiga: The Final Odyssey and I love how this series was consistently good even outside the main series.

Which makes my disappointment with Dyna even bigger.

Just finished Dyna and gotta say it's pretty darn good. Imo it the weakest of the TDG trilogy but that really just means there was some stiff competition. Great OST including insert songs and Dyna himself is such unique design with diamond forehead. Also I want Moutain Guliver 5 to return in Trigver I don't care how it's just awesome.

Anyone know where I could torrent or dl The Birth of Ultraman? I've got a feeling Tsupro will upload it to Youtube on the day, but just in case they don't I'd like to see it

Hey, they finally found a way to get Hiroshi Nagano into a Tiga retrospective, kinda!

Hopefully they don't add anything stupid in this one, though it looks like they'll skip Taro's initial form, and maybe the Star of Darkness arc (Since they killed off one of the major players in that one).

But I'm still looking forward to it, despite my gripes on some of the changes.

I read the manga up until Kotaro first got his powers and I'm pissed we didn't get Red.

I know, and it's not just Red that disappointed me. They remove some of Bemular's interactions, and allusions that led to his big twist, they did that whole Rena thing, and made a few tweaks to the characters I wasn't a fan of.

I don't like to sound like those "The Manga was better" people, but I really do think the Manga is very good and the Anime kind of mishandled it, and while I'm aware changes were inevitable, they still could have done it better.

Watched the first 9 episodes of Leo. This is my most hated Ultra series and I went through Ace and Dyna. Gen/Leo is the worst Ultra ever it makes me take back what I said about Jack in his early episode and I really am siding with Dan and hist constant frustration with him.

That's very early if that is official. And if it is, then that only leaves the following possibilities:

-Another Ultra appearing in Trigger.

-Another Ultra appearing in Shin Ultraman (Though I doubt it)

-A Spin-off Ultra series or project (Manga, streaming series, movie, short, novel, etc.).

-A fake.

Either way, I'm betting the name is Regulus, which is the name of a star in the Leo constellation, which if I remember right, means "The Little King," as it's in the mane.
