Besides, even without the comics, in the pilot and Luna Eclipsed it's shown Luna wouldn't want to return to her previous jealous-of-Celestia state of mind. |

ugh, I got issue 9 yesterday. I need to read it. Quote:
EDIT: AGH! How could I forget?!? So at SDCC, the Hub had a booth where you could vote for your favorite pony (out of the Mane 6) So, my friend and I went, and he voted for Rarity, then I went, and I was like "Dang it! I can't choose!" but I did, and I think Matrix will be proud of my choice... http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1374376202 The way it worked was: You went to the booth, you voted, then the person would ask you who you voted for, you told them, then they gave you a pin corresponding with who you voted for. |

And excellent. Rarity is the most fabulous, logical choice, after all~ |

Also, that was my sister's reason for voting Rarity. :lol Our entire group had Rarity pins. |
I seriously want one of those Rarity pins :lol
If one of your friends doesn't want theirs or you're willing to sell yours, hit me up :lol |

Luna is best Princess. Derpy is best background pony. And all are voiced by the same woman. Coincidence? |

No. Debatable. Tabitha St. Germain is awesome, though. |

I like Celestia. c:

I now want a Fluttershy pin.

Number 4: Too Many Pinkie Pies
Who honestly didn't see this one coming? Number 3: Party of One http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/5...kie_S01E25.png Party of One is the twenty-fifth episode of season one. Pinkie Pie invites her friends to a party, but grows suspicious and investigates when none of her friends can attend... and you all know the rest. Seriously, this episode is infamous for being just plain creepy that pretty much everypony has seen it already. Though really its just the one two and a half minute long scene in a twenty-two minute long episode that gives Party of One its reputation among the fandom. (among other things that shall not be mentioned) All I can really say is that I found the antics and banter in this episode enjoyable and Pinkie Pie's singing telegram was rather amusing. Also, this episode proved one thing. Turn down an invitation from Pinkie and she'll lose her shit... Which is a personality trait that I'm sure was never taken advantage off by a fanfic writer or fan artist in any shape or form. Party of One... CUPCAKES!!! |
Number 3: Party of One
Is it wrong to count two episodes as one?... Oh screw it I'm doing it anyway. Number 2: The Return of Harmony http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/8...%22_S02E02.png The Return of Harmony is the first episode of the second season and the twenty-seventh episode overall. This is the first half of a two part episode, in which Princess Celestia tasks the ponies with retrieving the Elements of Harmony and defeating Discord thus returning order to Equestria. Where do I even begin with this one. Well, where anyone else would, with Discord. Discord is without a doubt one of my favorite villains of all time. The fact that he has so much power yet very little motivation to use it is something that has always intrigued me. I mean this is a guy that could probably tear apart the entire world in an instant but instead... he makes it rain choclate milk. I know this episode doesn't exactly have the best rebutation by fans like Suited for Success or Party of One do, in fact I do think it's one of the more flawed episodes, but I still enjoy it. It has an amazing villain, great character development and most importantly a great conflict. Let's face it, this is probably that episode that puts the friendship of the mane six to the most difficult test and boy was it a doozy. The Return of Harmony, why did Keep Calm and Flutter On have to ruin the best villain? |

Let me say one thing though, I don't hate Keep Calm and Flutter On. But when I first watched it, the ending left me rather angry that Discord was turned good. However upon re-watching it, I don't hate it nearly as much... Still a little ticked about Discord though. |
"Keep Calm and Flutter On" is actually one of my favorite episodes (although that might be my Fluttershy bias). I really like how they handled Discord's heel-turn; I thought that it was an intelligent, albeit corny, method to explain why a being of chaos would try to be good.

Overall it's both an episode that I both like and dislike for different reasons... I just don't know. |

You know I was thinking of doing an honorable mentions section before going to number one but you know what? There is simply to damn many! And that really is an accomplishment, especially for a kid's show. For it to have so many memorable episode that can be re-watched time and time again it was difficult for me to narrow it down to just eleven episodes. So let's just do a short recap of the list before getting to number one.
Number 11: Sisterhooves Social Number 10: Suited for Success Number 9: A Friend in Deed Number 8: Magic Duel Number 7: A Dog and Pony Show Number 6: Lesson Zero Number 5: Luna Eclipsed Number 4: Too Many Pinkie Pies Number 3: Party of One Number 2: The Return of Harmony and now for my number one pick. HOLD IT!... This might not be your favorite episode, it might not even be the best episode. But like I said before for, this is a series with so many good episode that it was tricky enough to narrow it down to simply ten, which is why I expanded it to eleven instead of just ten, so... keep an open mind. My number one episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is... A THREE WAY TIE! Yeah, I know it's a cop out but like I said before I just couldn't decide between these three so this is basically the three that show case the series' sense of humor, adventure, tension and what I consider to be the most important element of any story, emotion. So let's get started with... Number 1 A: It's About Time http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/7...ight_S2E20.png It's About Time is the twentieth episode of the second season and the forty-sixth episode overall. In this episode, after receiving a warning from her future self, Twilight drives herself crazy in an attempt to avoid an unspecified upcoming catastrophic disaster. First I should mention that I love time travel stories, as well as the few moments where Twilight goes insane! Put 'em both together and you get one hell of an epiosde. The whole thing is a very well constructed episode that doesn't waste a single second of its run time with each scene building to quite possible one of the best punch lines that I have ever seen in an animated series that I won't dare spoil for the few people that haven't seen it yet. I would go into more detail but that if I did that would completely ruin great reveal after great reveal. You really need to experience it for yourself, it's just that good. If you haven't seen it yet, why are you still reading this? GO WATCH IT! (By the way, that refers to all three of these entries) Number 1 B: Secret of my Excess http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/c...pike_S2E10.png Secret of My Excess is the tenth episode of the second season of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and the thirty-sixth episode overall. In this episode, Spike becomes greedy during his first birthday in Ponyville, which magically causes him to grow to a monstrous size. Let me say one thing first before I get into the meat of this episode. I had completely forgotten about this episode when creating this list and only remembered it when a clip from it showed up in my recommended videos on youtube. So I re-watched it on Net-Flix out of curiosity and remembered “Hey, didn't I say this was one of the best episodes in the whole series?”, and you know what? I was right, Secret of My Excess is one of, if not the best (in my opinion) the best episode in the entire show. Nothing against Suited for Success, but this is should be considered the show's apex. There are of course a few issues I have with it, like I didn't really like seeing Spike act like a royal dick, but it just does so many others things so well that you quickly forget about it. I'll be honest and say that those moments of Spike being greedy actually had me groaning and thinking “Oh boy, this is going to suck isn't it?” But for once I was glad to be wrong. What else can I say? It's basically what I think of when imagine a perfect episode. Everything (except what I mentioned above) in this episode is simply amazing. From the humor, to the story and for once I am glad to say that the ending is anything but cliche. How so you many ask? Well in most kid's shows that involve a romantic subplot, most confessions of true love are carried out in the biggest way possible as if to show that two characters are an item. But in this episode its all summed up in a look. That alone makes this episode rank so very very high with me and you have no idea how thrilled it makes me to say that. Secret of My Excess, the one episode of MLP that made me cry... well, one of two actually. Number 1 C: Magical Mystery Cure http://images.wikia.com/mlp/images/5...ses_S03E13.png Magical Mystery Cure is the thirteenth and final episode of the third season and the sixty-fifth episode overall. In this episode, Twilight Sparkle accidentally switches her friend's destinies, and tries to fix them. By doing so, she becomes the forth Alicorn princess of Equestria and completes her arc and main storyline over the past three seasons and sixty-five episodes. What can I honestly say about this episode that hasn't been said already? Seriously, Magical Mystery Cure is probably the single episode that has fans split the most, and considering it's on this list and tied for the number one slot you can pretty much guess where I stand on it, and I'll be honest, this is with out a shadow of a doubt the episode that I have seen the most. More often than not I have seen each episode about once or twice and I re-watched each episode on this list again just so I could articulate my thoughts on them. Magical Mystery Cure however... I have seen it upwards of ten times already. Sure, looking at this episode from a critical stand point it's pretty damn terrible. However, it captures the one element that I find to be the most important of any visual medium be it movies or television better than any other episode on the list... emotion. Magical Mystery Cure is an experience that I just can't put into words. From the joy I felt from A True True Friend to the reflective and nostalgic feel of Celetia's Ballad, this is one episode that the flaws are more than obvious but I just can't hate. Hell, I still get teary eyed at Twilight's Coronation making it the second time I've cried while watching this show. Magical Mystery Cure, simply magical. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- So that's my top... thirteen, debate it if you will or make your own list. I just did this because I thought it would be fun and get some good discussions about this miracle of a series. This was a show that everyone thought was going to fail hard and while it does have it's flaws, it more than makes up for it with its characters, setting and overall presentation. I honestly haven't had as much fun watching a western animated kid's show in such a long time and having finished all of Friendship is Magic in less than a couple months, I can honestly say that it is with out a shadow of a doubt one of the best animated kid's shows that we have gotten in a long time. Seriously, it's right up there with Avatar the Last Airbender in my books and I am glad I could share the experience with so many other people who apparently like hearing me talk about this stuff on the internet. Now I'll be honest a little while ago, a friend of mine sent me to watch this series. She sent me to study it and it's fan base, which is something I didn't really care much about. But now, on a day like today, I can honestly say I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the friendships I've made with all of you. Each one of you taught me something about friendship, and for that, I will always be grateful. Today, I consider myself the luckiest pony in Equestria. Thank you, friends. Thank you, everypony! |

Though I do enjoy Magical Mystery Cure, I wouldn't rank it on my top 10. It's paced too chaotically and the climax appears out of nowhere.
It honestly feels like they took 2 episodes, cut out the 90% of the 2nd, and threw them together. |
