Since Bandai seems to be enthralled with doing special and movie forms or atleast showing prototypes I hope they seriously consider doing Kanon Specter and Sin Specter....but then again whatever reason is holding Ghost Mugen back will probably hold them back.

Still would be nice to see prototypes because those are some great designs and I'm kinda surprised Complete form 21 hasn't been given a release date yet and maybe even Bandai themselves are worried about releasing him lol

Unfortunately, due to just how Ocean History is colored, his unstickered WRB is sticking out, I guess I can fix that. His neck looks a little long, too.

Durandel is like my second favorite suit from saber, aside from Dragonic Knight. Im glad its getting an shf. But yeah the lack of detail even on a premium shf wrb is dissapointing.

It's a shame especially after they gave the larger upgrade books a token effort. Guess Saber collectors will forever have to shine the SHFUpgrade signal

I'm not too personally bummed about the lack of WRB detailing as shipping from SHF Upgrade won't cost too much for me (Hong Kong to Australia is significantly cheaper compared to Hong Kong to US) but yeah still disappointing.

Also, yeah Durendal's neck looks suspiciously long. I hope it's just the way its posed. On the other hand, better to have a neck too long than a neck too short; at least you can sand the neck down.

They seemed to have given him compound eyes, even though the actual suit doesn't have some, so it's a clear piece. Hopefully it'd look better.

I think the hips do look weird, but I hope it's just a byproduct of it being a resin prototype and so some things are a little thicker than normal.

I love that this guy comes with devil horns. This is looking like a very nice release overall; Saber had some really out there wild designs for its heroes and SHF is doing them justice

Dengeki Hobby put out a better look at Durandal. I was wrong, the eyes are metallic instead of compound so that's good. Looks like they kinda messed up on painting the prototype a little bit though :lol there are some wrinkles on his crotch

Also Zenkaiser sold out everywhere hoping to see TwoKaiser soon and Gokai Red. Since Sentai Figuarts has a demand like crazy now that they back.

Imo Sentai figuarts always had a demand it's just Bandai ignored what and who the fans wanted...as long as they give the fans what they want they should have no problem selling Sentai figuarts again....even if it means doing a best selection of characters instead of teams

I've been saying this for a while; but while they would obviously have issues trying to sell a whole team at a collector's figure pricerange outside of mega-popular seasons; if you just do the current season's Red and Sixth, a lot of people will be happy with those and they will sell!

I think the problem has always been that Sentai collectors don't want just Red's, they want teams. But those people aren't enough in number for Tamashii to actually make a profit. Similarly, those who only want Red's aren't enough either.

Tamashii tried the "Red's at retail, team at Premium Bandai" approach with Sentai, it didn't work when these figures were half the price a Figuart costs today, it won't work now.

Zenkaiser does well in pre-orders because the suit breaks tradition, because it isn't "just" another Red, because the rest of his team are basically the mecha so you can substitute mainline toys, because it is the first Sentai figure in 7 years and the marketing campaign is excellent, because it's an anniversary for Sentai as a whole.

Had they randomly made Kiramai Red last year, I'm not sure he would've done as well.

However, maybe times have changed. Maybe the market is there now. Zenkaiser is the perfect choice to try and resurrect the line IMO, for all the reasons listed above, so now they need to follow it up and see if that works out.

I dunno, I definitely see a lot of 'just Reds' collectors around -- and then Sixths are, of course, usually the most unique designs around. I really do feel like people would've gone for a Houou Soldier or a Lupin Red, but hey; it could just be my experience

I mean yeah if Bandai is still under the impression that only the Japan audience/fan base matter and keep ignoring Super Sentai's International appeal as a cash flow as well. I mean where's Deka Master that fans have and are still waiting on...they're doing another poll again so are they actually gonna pay attention to the results of that? You might say Zenkaiger or whatever anniversary theme they went with would be the catalyst to bring Sentai figuarts back but I always felt Gokaiger would play a part too which is why I wasn't surprised to see a new Gokai Red.

Isn't licensing the issue here? Power Rangers and all. I don't understand how it works either, but from what I've heard they can't just release Super Sentai-stuff in a market where companies own the Power Rangers brand.

Of course they could do it like the SOC Daizyuzin or the Zuyranger SHF's and officially rebrand them as the "Megazord" / "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers", but what could you do if it's a Sentai season which was never adapted as a Power Rangers show?

Sentai figuarts would be treated just like how we International fans buy Kamen Rider stuff by importing it. Hasbro can block Sentai stuff from directly sold in the States but can't stop someone from importing it which is why you see companies like Tokullectibles offer both a Japan and American release of some products. The issue with the American release of the CSM Decade Driver missing the Sentai cards is because it'll be domestically available via Bluefins.

We also have the Shodo and SMP lines that have done Sentai teams that have a Power Rangers counterpart but they're marketed as their Super Sentai name because they are just that. Of course once Hasbro blocked everything that's when the SMP line stopped being available to buy domestically and under the Power Rangers name. I've said it plenty of times in different conversations that Super Sentai and Power Rangers need to stay seperate IPs and for fans to stop trying to group them together. Sentai existed well before Power Rangers and was doing fine

It's ok if that's how someone identify said Super Sentai team but make no mistake that when a product is made from Bandai Japan it's meant to represent Super Sentai and that is something Hasbro has no affect on

I'd actually question that considering the state of the Figuarts line when the Sentai stuff ended then was totally different from how it is now.

Now completing casts or getting alternate forms via P-Bandai releases has basically become the norm, unlike a few years back where it wasn't as utilized. Now practically every sub-line in Figuarts relies on it.

From what I can remember, sales outside of Japan can be helpful. Zyuranger probably got the full team for SHF because they did well overseas. Even the NA sales helped the figuart line for Dragon Ball before Super came out.

I'm going from what I remember hearing when I did volunteer work for Bluefin in 2015 and 2017. Stuff has probably changed in the last few years.

International sales def played a part in boosting the DBZ line and even Sentai figuarts a bit but specifically them doing Zyuranger. Zyuranger was already planned and Bandai just happened to work out a partnership with Bluefin who partnered with Tamashii Nations to get figuarts sold directly in North America. Every Sentai figuarts released in North America back then was branded under their Power Rangers name if it had one but the molds and figures themselves was still based off the Japanese characters and Sentai

Yeah we're talking about a time back then when not too many people were aware of Japanese imports or high-end toylines like Mafex, Figma, Bandai Japan and maybe even Hot Toys to name a few.

When more people learned about them and saw the prices they commanded they weren't feeling it and the same could be said about the idea of pre-ordering stuff back then which some people didn't agree with but are more accepting of it now to some extent...

For me though when I learned about Figuarts in 2012 or 2013 I was instantly hooked because as a kid I always wanted a complete toy of my favortie characters in a show that had everything they used in the form of accessories so when I came across my first Figuart which was Masked Rider Ryuki I was filled with joy

Not my pic but it seems like Jaou Dragon's top shoulder armor are connected to the torso while the purple one is at the arm. And then the cape is connected to the top shoulder armor. So... An improvement over Prime Rogue, I suppose? But that probably means his cape is draped down all the time.

Emperor looks exquisite, like an art piece :lol just like his sibling suit. Seems like you can remove Zanbat off the sword so you can have the sealed version for Dark Kiva, too. Shame he's so expensive.

Wow very beautiful and can't wait for both of these to arrive. That's good to hear about the Zanbat being removable since it was on the original release I believe. I own the original dark kiva figuarts and those accessories fit very well with my Seihou Dark Kiva.

Now if you want the actual full Kiva line-up, you need 2 base forms.

Yeah. I was wishing the Future Kiva they showed back then was going to be a sort of coming reissue for Base Kiva that had Kivat the 4th. Disappointed it was just packed in with Emperor. But I suppose their intention was that you bought Kiva already, and then just having Emperor to represent Wataru.

I mean it makes sense considering Emperor basically became Wataru's main form after it debuted.

Unfortunately, due to the Hasbro deal, I don't think Bandai can rely on at least the North American market when it comes to the new Sentai figuarts. Domestic shops are not carrying Zenkaiser through Bluefin if Tokucollectibles lack of USA option is anything to tell by.

That was mainly due to Kiva's default form being so heavy for the suit actor. The more excuses to not use it, the better.
