There's also probably a pun on "Muramasa" in there too, which would be the connection to Japanese folklore.

@Topic: If Sentai wants to make it a habit to include a wicked cool looking purple extra Ranger every year now I'm not complaining.

This is our 3rd purple antagonistic Ranger/Rider in as many season. Definitely a trend at this point.

Don Murasame is my favorite Donbrothers suit now! I love how the chest armor covers the black space on the torso, how the visor resembles a splitting tide and like, just the fact that he's a purple ninja shark man. He also has his own version of the Don Buckle in silver, which makes me wonder what Gears he's got in there!

I love this suit so much.

My guess is that it'll be similar to Don Momotaro Alter, except with different shoulder pads and feet that facilitate becoming a toy shark instead of a toy peach.

Not quite, she voices another new character called "Mother".

I read somewhere that she uses Murusame as a medium to speak but I haven't found a source for that.
