Unfair hardly describes your comment. Really I wanted to give up on that show right away, but I heard such good things and the suits were so awesome.

On a different note, I'm into Agito episode three and I'm really intrigued. I don't quite get what happened when Agito changed colours, (I thought it was connected to his spear, but he had the spear before he changed colour) and I like that when he's actually Agito he almost looks to be running on automatic, only coming to his senses near the end before he beat up that robo-rider guy. I'm also really intrigued by the swimmer who seems to suffer the same thing as Agito when the well-dressed cat people attack, (BTW, the cats are villains and they stuff people in trees? I find that offensive to my tree-loving people) but obviously isn't transforming.

So... why does Agito frill-out when he rider-kicks? Besides looking neat and reminding me of a cobra about to strike.

Gimme the Gokai episodes. I know choosing the movies saves me about 2 hours, but I'd rather just sit through Gokaiger.

Well obviously Matrixbeast wasn't thinking straight when he said that.

He thought OOO was better than Double afterall. (note: I'm sure OOO is a fine show, but Double is unbeatable. Hence my watching of other rider series to prove this fact that I have no basis for presenting)

Although I am looking around for Agito figures already.

I had forgotten how blatantly Mary Sue-ish Decade was written. Upon further review, Decade is, in fact, worse than Gokaiger.

Double is an amazing series. I just found OOO to be stronger, personally.

Oh, okay. It's reassuring to know that the second Tokusatsu I watched isn't the worst one in existence.

Just finished watching the A to Z movie, now for those final 5 episodes of W. From what I hear...well, it'll be a good watch.

Yeah. Agito has LONG SINCE past that for me. It's reached the level that I don't want to watch it because the flaws in this apparent masterpiece will becoming glaringly obvious.

Now I can compare "objectively" (I love W but because I love it as a show. I have no predisposition towards it because of nostalgia or anything) I'm liking Agito so far, so I'm interested to see if it'll stay just okay, or be the "masterpiece" people say it is.

No, W just wasn't my first rider series so I'm not in that category of people who cling to it for that reason. And I thought it was pretty average on the spectrum of rider shows so I'm not one of the people on the other side who fauns over it as a masterpiece. I thought it was generally a good show with a little flare that gets way over exaggerated and exalted by most fans. That's just my 2 cents.

Wow. First I apparently "assume I know every episode" because I didn't like the first ten or so episodes of Kabuto, now apparently the only reason I like W is because I cling to it as my first series.

I was pretty excited when I got into Kamen Rider. I thought W was aweosme and wanted to expand my horizon. Kabuto was a let down but that hasn't stopped me from keeping an open mind. What is making the Kamen Rider experience difficult is the accociated fandom. It seems if I don't like or like the wrong stuff, I get belittled for it. I've actually been rewatching double kind of with a friend who recently discovered it, and it's still good. The characters are all fun to watch, it has a genuinely engaging premise and overarching story, and the arcs are all pretty interesting and feel relevant.

Well no not really. Please understand that I'm not trying to be insulting. I know that for a lot of people it was their first rider series and it was a great experience. It had an original concept and was fun for a lot of people. It was at least my 4th series at the time so I just didn't get hit with any sort of wow factor from it. Most fans I see of W got into Kamen Riders because of W but that just wasn't the case for me. I liked the show just fine but it didn't blow me away and it wasn't a first experience or even a memorable one for me. And you did call me a crazy person just because I said it was average.

I was joking with the crazy person thing. I'm not so irrational to actually mean something like that. I was just funning around since everyone else was. It was the "cling" thing that got me. When I think "clinging" I think people who latch onto things for unjustified or, to be blunt, stupid reasons. I don't cling to W. I genuinely liked it for what it was. It was fun to watch. I watch these other Kamen Rider shows and even ones I don't dislike, like Den-O, don't seem to have that same grabbing quality. Agito is interesting, but I wouldn't call it fun. (it has intrigue as it's best quality so far)

Coming from someone that saw Double as his 3rd (Technically 2nd, since I hadn't finished Kabuto at the time), you're really giving it too little credit.

Your argument seems to be based on "If you had seen any rider series before it, you'd realize it wasn't that good." When I can say that it really is that good.

I'm not going to list off reasons why, since swaying an opinion that's set in stone is really fruitless, I'm just going to say that your argument has no real bearing. You just didn't like it as much as anyone else. It's not because they watched it earlier or later, as their first series or their 5th. It's just because you didn't enjoy it.

I wasn't trying to imply superficial reasons determine EVERY persons experience with that show. But if you polled most W fans, on average it was either their first Rider series or one of their first riders/tokus. No matter what show you watch there's a certain degree of magic and attachment involved with the first show you foray into. Decade was that way for me, I just don't voice the opinion that I like it regularly seeing as you'd counter me :p

W had a few interesting characters that I enjoyed. Mainly Soukichi, Terui, Kirihiko, Jin, and Makuura. It had a main rider with a neat design and interesting gimmick, Shotaro & Phillip were interesting but not incredibly deep characters. And the plot seemed to suffer a bit from the whole Foundation X is the true enemy at the end thing. But I prefer Utopia in design and powers to all the Sonozaki family dopants (aside from Kirihiko/Nasca).

Don't expect the worst. Just expect vague plot with great action and a couple of redeemable episodes (the Den-O ones)

That said I have similar issues with the ending of W that I did with the ending of Fourze. Way to cheapen what was a very emotionally well done moment by bringing Phillip back. I mean seriously, their final moments together were a serious tearjerker, very well done, and then you spoil it by bringing him back the next episode.

W isn't my first Rider series either. I started with Wizard, which is ongoing. My first series I watched from start to finish was Fourze, so I do have a bit of a special attachment there. W I just felt was incredibly strong from start to finish. Rarely did I feel it dragged on or lost my interest. Thematically it managed to find a wonderful balance between fun, lighthearted moments and dark, dramatic ones. The stories and characters were likeable and interesting. We had a great cast of villains with some pretty neat designs (though I still think I prefer the Zodiarts). Was the show perfect? No, it certainly had its issues, and the overall ending to the series I feel was one of them given how strong the second to last episode was (the series really should have ended there, IMO), but as a whole it was really solid and deserves the praise it gets.

Well...I hear that Double has a more satisfying ending.

For the record, TJOmega is the reason I love Kamen Rider, so I pay tribute to him whenever I can.

I do feel like they could have kept 48 as the final episode and it would have been fine, but I also feel like with W being such a... happy series, having the real ending be a happy one seemed appropriate. I mean, I guess you could pretend the last episode didn't happen, or skip it outright. It's not like there's any lingering plot threads after 48. Almost like they wanted an "optional" finale.

Though it's not like the emotion I felt during 48 was undone by 49. I may, upon rewatching it, just not watch 49 when I get to the end.
