So Figuarts are not sold in regular stores at all in Japan? One of my friends who is returning tomorrow from a 2 week trip did not see a single Figuarts anywhere he went. No One Piece, no Kamen Rider, no Sentai, not even a DBZ or Tiger & Bunny one.

What do you mean by regular store? I don't think even Figma are sold in normal retail stores, but just toy and collector stores even in Japan.

See, I thought these things were sold in places like TRU in Japan.

As far as I'm aware, TRU just sells the kiddy Kamen Rider and Sentai stuff, like the roleplay toys and WAP/FMCS/OCC/whatever figures.

Looks like that budget line Cheeda Nick bike figure is a perfect match for Figuarts:

Nice. I'd originally bought that Nick to use with the eventual Red Buster. But that Nick is a terrible terrible toy outside of being a bike :lol

It's a bit bigger than that. The picture is from an odd angle so it makes the bike appear quite a bit smaller.

So I saw Derringer say on 4Chan(in a SH MonsterArts thread) that Bandai Japan representatives are bringing the Destroyah prototype over for NYCC(and presumably the Zyuranger too) and will be at the show. So maybe we can come up with some questions for the board members going to NYCC to ask on behalf of the board?

I'd like to know what their basis is for reissuing figures. Because there's a few figuarts that are extremely scarce like Sasword and Knight that could do with new editions.

Derringer posts there under a trip code quite frequently. It's been confirmed as really him.

Pretty sure the Bluefin facebook page more or less stated that a few weeks ago. Derringer's post here was also something to that effect.

His post weeks ago was that the protos would be there, not that Bandai Japan reps would be at NYCC and available to interact with. That is why I mentioned it. If we wanted any questions answered, better to think of them now, ahead of time, than have the opportunity pass and regret it. If nobody wants to ask them questions, fine. But it's a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Also 4Chan assumptions aside, the Derringer on 4Chan has been vetted more thoroughly than the one who posted here, and nobody seemed to worry about believing *him* despite his one post just being a repeat of information posted elsewhere. Google his tripcode: Derringer !o9BVObgueE and you'll see all his info is accurate and he's been involved in 4chan for quite a while.

I'm curious that, should the Ryuki or Knight get a re-release, would they include their Contract Monster?

Almost certainly. Both have accessories that are directly connected to the Contract Monster, especially Knight and all of his cape options.

I'm wondering about possible future Ryuki figuarts, like Odin, Femme etc. Will they get their contract monsters included or will they be exclusives like Genocider or will they just get cut entirely?

Femme I could see coming with hers, since she is basically a female version of Knight. Odin...I doubt it. It never really even showed up in the show.

But they could easily cut prices by just including their various weapons and accessories.
Like, rather than including the entirely of Dragredder, they'd just have the tail for Sword Vent and his arms/legs and torso plates for Guard Vent (If I recall correctly, the Strike Vent head wasn't actually a part of Dragredder).
I don't own a Knight, so I'm not sure how much Darkwing contributes to him.

Darkwing is pretty indispensable. His upper body forms the clasp for all of his cape options (one of which is his wings and lower body). If they cut Darkwing out it would just be Knight with his Darkvisor and Sword Vent.

If Knight gets re-released, it'll be exactly the same packaging and mould. Things would only get changed if they released a "new version" like Crystal Skull or Violent Emotion Decade.

I think the rest of the riders themselves will probably be exclusives, except maybe Odin. The rest were pretty much one shot villains who didn't last long, similar to Gai. I don't think we'll see anymore of them packaged with the contract monsters either, that was clearly just a way to one up the Figma's.

Or if they were correcting an error, like the bow legs Kabuto figures.

Well, I started putting my Figuarts back in their boxes today to get ready for moving Thanksgiving weekend. I think Shadow Moon cried a little.

Of course, there is no way in hell I am going to even attempt putting Dragredder back into the box, so I'll just have to be real careful with him.

It's not getting him back in the box that's the problem. It's trying to ever get him back into the same pose you had him in the first time :lol

Yes. That thing is beyond articulated. I took him off his tamashii stage once for the gallery I did for this site. After that I've never quite been able to get him back in his original pose.

Nah, I think it might be more of what Den-O was saying, because even with the AkibaRangers, I don't want to change how I have them posed on their stands more than anything else at the moment.

So Bluefin's started posting pics to Facebook from NYCC.

One that went up tonight is of SHF Nappa and original Vegeta. Which itself is cool, because they still look great.

But then the intentionally are trolling us by having the caption be Nappa asking about the MMPR Figuarts and with TyrannoRanger's/MMPR Red Ranger's glove being visible in the background.

Man these guys are good at drawing out a reveal. :P

I'm also not liking the looks of those shoulders and thighs. I hate how clearly cut out the thighs are.

I like it. The shoulders aren't perfect but they're better than the ones they've been using for the DekaRangers, the Shinkengers et al.

I didn't regonize him at first. I'm used to seeing him with a power coin emblazened on his chest, hope they add it to the final product.
