Eh, it kinda bothers me that two different scientific groups that probably used two different forms of research (presuming that all the data on the original Mewtwo was destroyed when he destroyed the lab) could come up with the same near identical clone of a Pokemon that doesn't even look like the intended Pokemon :p

I do like the implications that the new Mewtwo is female though.

But then how do we explain the abundance of Mewtwo online? :p

Joking aside, even if we didn't take into account online stuff, there is a Mewtwo in both Kanto and Kalos. I think they need to come up with an explanation for Mewtwo's species or some fan has to. :lol

I don't understand the issue with having a 2nd Mewtwo. Mewtwo in the anime showed that he already knew how to create perfect clones, and his entire life goal was to give the cloned Pokemon a paradise so they couldn't be ostracized.
What's to say that he wouldn't consider making a clone of himself. By inhabiting the world with more than one Mewtwo, he wouldn't be a unique specimen and would be left alone.

Wouldn't that just lead to that clone having to deal with the same problems as the original though? I don't think Mewtwo would want to bring that upon one of his "people".

It doesn't work for the movie's Mewtwo, though, who clearly remembered being created by humans. Although her origins after her creation were entirely different from the first Mewtwo.

At any rate I like having multiple Mewtwos or legendaries in general.

That would be cool, but the new Mewtwo has it's own (albeit brief) origin that's practically the same as the original's. But with less fire and hatred :lol

And more love for Pokemon. :) It's like an Alternate Universe Mewtwo, actually. I'll just assume Team Flare/Plasma/Galactic hacked Rocket's computers and found plans and cloned the 8th movie's Mew. (There's that other thing, there are more than one Mew in the anime)
