And yes, I do have the impression that everyone who does not like all-male teams are feminists. Everyone I've talked to that has this opinion always brings up feminist-like mindsets. Quote:
Anyway, how is asking for sale figures not related to your earlier post? Yes, Sun Vulcan was a few years ago but your argument that an all-male merchandise hasn't been proven either. How sure are you that girls will not buy boy-related toys. The fact that they enjoy a series most boys like means they'd most likely buy boy-related toys. It's a big possibility they won't mind an all-male team at all. Quote:
Ok, I'll give you a better example. GoRanger started with 4 men and 1 woman targeting an 80% male audience and 20% female audience. Do you think Changeman (was it Changeman?) was wrong to change it a 3 men 2 women team? I mean, they should be the same from the very beginning right? If you ask me, no. They can try anything out for a particular season then revert back to another formula on the other. Say.. 5 men, 0 woman on one season then back to 3 men and 2 women on the next then 4 men 1 woman on the season after. It's Sentai. They change numbers every season or so. And thank you for your opinion with Ghostbusters and Thor. I was fishing to getting to know you with those posts actually. :) Glad you're strong with your opinion. Quote:
I agree with most of your post. Though, I'm curious what group is doing that backlash. |

Liam, we have a Multiquote button.

To be completely honest, I don't think we're gonna get anywhere with this argument. You're interested in seeing what Sentai would be like with an all-male team, but most people seem to think that wouldn't go over very well and the company wouldn't want to risk alienating fans. Every post is just the same thing over and over again and it doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere with it.

Wow, this thread has completely derailed. You guys want to discuss all of the controversy surrounding Sun Vulcan? Just make your own bloody thread.
How's Zyuohger doing? I've been busy and haven't had time to watch much of it. |

Personally, I think Mickey, whoever she was, was friggin' awful. Her version of GoGoV's opening is one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life. Quote:
Anyhow, you really seem focused on just the part where I said that having at least one woman on the team has been a thing since Goranger and what you appear to have taken from that is that I hate all change-ups in gender dynamics forever. I don't. I just have a preference for groups made up of both sexes and the one all-male Super Sentai that exist just isn't that great. |

And once again you bring up Sun Vulcan. You just now said yourself you've only seen 4 episodes of it. How does that prove the greatness of an all male team? And a few years ago? Sun Vulcan was a show from over 30. And why are you so adamant on keeping the argument of girls not buying boy related toys? My argument is the need for girl related toys as well for all children. What if the little girls don't wanna buy any of the boy related products? Lost revenue there Now this is the last time I'm going to say it. LiamLee, stop derailing threads just to discuss how much you want an all-male team. This is the Sentai General Questions thread. This is not the first occasion that you've derailed a thread just to discuss something completely irrelevant to the topic and continue said discussion when someone doesn't agree with it. Like one of our other users stated, if you wanna talk about an all-male team and the repercussions of one, MAKE YOUR OWN THREAD. Now move along. |

And if you hate Onari, you don't have to worry about Mario. Sure the first scene is him in a giraffe suit being an idiot, but the man only does that to method act as part of understanding the animals he's sculpting. When he needs to be serious, he gets serious. And there's way more serious than there goofy cosplaying with him. Hell, there's even a scene where he gets kidnapped by the villains while in a cow costume and he stands up to them completely seriously and not mooing like an idiot. And the villains, oh glorious! You got the calculator and the bruiser generals, a dark chick and then the big bad Genis. Genis is amazing. He's quiet, dignified and unlike most villains who flip out every episode when the Sentai wins, he chuckles because it entertains him. His whole schtick is going to different planets and having his generals commit genocide in varying creative ways for his dark amusement. And Earth is the most entertaining season of his Blood Game yet because of what the ZyuOhgers do to thwart his plans. And the action, with The World's introduction, you felt it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zye1qQU5YT4 Just look at the final seconds, how absolutley shattered they were by The World. You feel that. And they didn't cheerfully say "shucks, we'll beat him next time because we're awesome heroes" after that like the NinNinjas would, they were showing signs of light PTSD and even all agreed that they were fucking terrified. These are some of the most human characters we've had in a while, AND ONLY ONE OF THEM IS HUMAN! Watch it. Now. |
I feel Zyuohger's biggest failing are the villains, personally. They're your average set of boss, bruiser, smart guy, chick, like Gokaiger, Goseiger, Shinkenger, etc etc. None of them have really showed any particular quirks to really distinguish them, either.
While Genis being quite mellow over losses is a neat change of pace, as a character, he hasn't done anything to set himself apart from the likes of others. I do think everything else in Zyuohger is really good, though. The rangers are a really work off each other well and balance out the team. I particularly liked their reactions to losing to The World, like GoseiWonder said. It was a breath of fresh air for Sentai~ |

How's Zyuohger doing? I've been busy and haven't had time to watch much of it.[/QUOTE] You know how by this point in the last few seasons it gets boring or outright bad? Yeah, that's not happening. Zyuohger is good. It's REALLY good. |
I suppose I should probably catch up then. I think the last episode I watched was the crossover with Ghost.

Think we'll ever see what Cube Rhino's unmodified form looked like?
I mean, I know we won't be getting a toy, but like, what about a brief appearance in show? |
How come no one does morphers on wrist anymore?

Hell if you look at it a certain way, Yamato's gonna get a big hand cannon that covers his wrist and transforms him into ZyuOhWhale.

What would happens if actor who played Red Ranger walked out on Toei?
Just says he was scheduled to film 11th episode of Super Sentai but he's walked away and told Toei that he is done with Super Sentai He says he is unhappy of Toei's treatment toward his co-stars, he wanting Toei to not give him so many toy stuff because he wanted his co-star to be equal to his character. He is angered with the writer of rushing the story and doesn't like how his character were portrayed (His Red Ranger was a loud-mouth and annoying person) How does Toei resolve this problem when their Red Ranger walked out on them and never came back to film the 11th episode? Remember this actor told them that HE WILL NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN! That's mean he have NO DESIRE TO REPRISE HIS RED RANGER AGAIN! |
Toei hire someone else. The show will go one because no one actor is bigger than it.
Not that I think that will ever happen. The Japanese have an incredible work ethic and most actors would see a project out to the very end and give 100% even if they weren't feeling it. Not to mention these shows are seen as stepping stones to the actors. |

They merely keep them in their costume if they need that ranger to return (Voice work will be done by a different actor. They do this all the time in Hero Taisen movies). Also, they can't just walk out. Actors have contracts for a reason, which basically ensures they have to see the series out for how ever many episodes are required. Additionally, many actors use Sentai as one of their earliest stepping stones to get into the industry. If they walk out of a Sentai mid production, they're kind of creating a name for themselves as someone who doesn't have the determination/skill/attention/or whatever to see a 50 episode show to the end. It would be an unwise call to make, even if they don't like what they're doing, because it would be a gigantic black mark on their resume. |

Or just send this guy and have him get the job done.
http://i.imgur.com/LENutkD.png You wanna know what he is capable of watch Goranger, JAKQ, then Carranger VS Ohranger. |
What do you think OhPink's bad attitude during the production of Ohranger?
At the time of Ohranger, Sato was a rising star, being a former gravure star and having a show on the Japanese version of MTV. Her growing popularity thanks to being seen in Sentai contrasted with her growing aggravated on her association with the genre and denouncing being on a kids show. She further caused problems with unreasonable demands with Toei, including desiring more air time in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: Ole vs. Kakuranger; Toei acquiesced by giving her a special introduction in the special but she still denounced them. Her demands even became to the point that even Hiroshi Miyauchi, a longtime Sentai veteran, denounced her diva-like attitude. After Ohranger ended, Sato denounced her former job and stated she would not appear in another kid's show. This would end up being a bad choice due to being dropped from MTV at about the same time. Years Later, She would reprise her OhPink Role in Gokaiger due of that earthquake. Yup, Tamao Sato is so far the only Sentai actor that legitimate HATED Super Sentai or use to be. Naughty Girl |

It's not that surprising. An up and coming star doesn't want to be typecast, which is what was happening to Sato. She tried to vehemently oppose it, but it ended up costing her career.
I don't think she hated Super Sentai, I just think she didn't want to be seen as a small time actor taking gigs for children's shows. I think her appearance in Gokaiger showed that she mellowed over the years (If I recall, most of the cameos asked to appear on the show on their own accord) As for the whole diva stuff, yeah. Young actress with a rising role in Japan's MTV? She let the fame get to her head and just started acting like a bitch. |

Shinichiro Shirakura, basically the producer for much of Heisei before Decade, has a pretty high position. (I believe he's somewhere below the CEO now) He also produced a few Sentai and seems to be mostly fine with how the franchise is at the moment. (what he doesn't care for is modern Rider)
