Kurayami itself isn't technically evil. The show goes out of its way to say that things like Calibur and the darkness aren't inherently evil. The sword itself is an incredible ally to the SoL, in theory. It shows Calibur the future in order to deter a bad ending, by showing those who wield it who the culprit is in advance as we saw with Hayato Calibur acted as a heroic figure until he was manipulated by Master Logos. Kento, as well, wasn't really a villain. He simply sought out his own solution to stopping the end of the world, which required sealing the swords. |

I mean there's also Brave Dragon that the book clearly states itself "A God Beast that would destroy everything." https://i.ytimg.com/vi/CjAXgfL1x18/hqdefault.jpg |

Literally blurting out that your book is evil, however, is a completely different matter. And as for toy purposes, I would argue that previous villain Riders didn't necessarily have 'evil' on their collectibles (e.g. 'Lemon Energy Lockseed', 'Lupin Gunner', 'Kamen Rider Chronicle', 'Cobra Evolbottle', etc.) so it's not really necessary to differentiate Calibur as an 'evil Rider'. I mean, it certainly helped but wasn't necessary; a mere aesthetic thing. Basically my main gripe is that having a 'heroic Rider' with 'evil' literally slapped across their henshin trinket is super sketchy (note: I'm not dissing the sword, I'm dissing the book). I guess that's why they made Kento go back to being Espada. SoL really is a crazy organisation. |

Tho, one could argue Caliburs are indeed still kept watch but not too much, by Sabers. There's a link with a Saber and a Calibur and Daichi was the one closest to Hayato. |
If I could add my two cents to the "are Calibur's powers evil?" discussion:
I feel like Riders using "evil" powers isn't a new thing. Wasn't the first one created by by a world-conquest-seeking dictaor? And also: Jaaku Dragon is a book. A book itself can't be evil. It's a book about an evil dragon, yes, but it's still just like any other Ride Book. And since it's a book about evil, maybe the Idea is that Calibur has the knowledge of evil and uses it to fight evil. |

Now, to ask why is his belt called the Jaken Caliburdriver :lol |
Mei could probably be the next Calibur in a way like Aruto went into being Ark-One.
I don’t see Tassel being Calibur himself as he’s already guardian of Wonder World. |

This Mei Kamen Rider obsession is just crazy, man. https://i.imgur.com/eJfW07h.jpg |

As for why would the SoL try to use it, remember the Kuroyami's origins are completely benevolent: It's one of the initial Seiken created around two thousand years ago, and wielded by Yuri along with the Saikou to fight evil. Don't get me wrong, the name and element are still highly suspicious. But from an in-universe perspective, the sword effectively had no tangible negative associations (again, until Hayato's betrayal). It's the Batman or the KR Shin of swords, sure it looks scary and sound terrifying. But it's on your side, so go out there and have fun kids. |

How long will you last this time before you "never watch Saber again" |
I got fed up back when Zi-O was airing by someone's constant non-constructive ragging on it in the episode discussions. So much so I challenged this person's views on the show every chance I got, because everyone in the forum was tired of the same song and dance each week.
...Seeing someone get upset over Mei not being Espada and whatnot is a bit upsetting in comparison. I can understand hating a show. I can understand not liking its developments, or even a character. But hating a show because said character never lived up to your perceived expectations despite being shown to never be on that direct path, declaring said show to be dead to you, only to show up a week later with a "what if it's done like this depressing story beat from this other show". To quote Zero-Two's insert theme: make up your mind. |
Guys, can we please not do this again? He's not obsessing over Mei here, please don't make a commotion out of nothing
|
To be honest, henshinzero himself is not doing himself any favor by suggesting the Meicalibur idea.
But he at least not as crazy as one person i seen in youtube that come to say Saber objectively bad every episodes and complaining even the most mundane thing the show do. Like Reika becoming a rider? Make sense in the show context since she's the only notable non rider SOL member so is pretty expected, but he outright said that no it make nonsense cause she's not the only person in SOL and there's a buch of grunt to be a rider. Kento giving into despair thanks to Kurayami? He said it make no sense since he's not seeing countless doom future and saying that Elemental dragon is the prove that he's not seeing a countless future and only saw like 5 or 6 of it so it shouldn't even break him which is a pretty bs claim. And he keep making a claims like that while calling anyone who enjoy the show a sheep, disregarding any pros the show have and keep on replying on and on to anyone that disagree with him. Hell the day after when i look back to the said youtube comment section to see if he stop or not and guess what? He's been replying to all people that don't agree with him for 24hours nonstop which is just... Crazy |
I hope Espada never gets an upgrade because that identity's been gone so long that just his old Q1 stuff being seen again alongside the other heroes is already big deal and I don't want them to diminish that.
Also biased because I think Ark Scorpion was a massive downgrade to Horobi's regular suit but I guess that's neither here nor there. |

I take no real issue with Henshinzero. But this is pretty worrisome and doesn't help he's been caught wind of other... unkind places. Edit: This is the last one I'm doing. Whether he admits to being dishonest about Saber or not, I'll stop. |
Oh yeah, on the Jaaku dragon, Calibur and evil thing.
I think that there's no true meaning behind it and they just use the word "evil" just to synergize the book to Kurayami darkness motive, since darkness and evil pretty much go hand in hand. Raia has a monster called Evildiver for example and we all know that Raia is not evil |

Yep, just checked again and the former Kenzan says: "It can't be! Fukamiya stole the Alter Ride Books selling the Megid." |

I thought I recalled Saber's initial trailer having it so the fight had been going on for a while. |

I mean, it just changes the meaning of that line a bit. The fight has been going on for hundreds of years, just like the Megid generals are hundred of years old, they might have just been sealed for a time.
Their being sealed, together with it taking 15 years till Wonder World was close to the real world again thing also explains what they've been doing all this time. |
I thought it was just that the Megiddo generals or a lot more Megiddo got released?
|
Like, it's not the first time evil riders fight on the good side.
Like remember Rogue. As much as I love Build, I wasn't a big fan on the explanation why Gentoku became less evil, but it did happen. I remember in Kyuranger, when Naga had that evil form, but it got converted to good. That's just a thing that happens in Toei Toku apparently. |
Solomon's gonna get messed up something fresh, and then Dezast and/or Storious will pop out of the woodwork to start being more notable antagonists again. Personally, between having a Seiken and being a hybrid, I think Dezast is going to be the final villain in Saber.

Storious going full emo here.

The guy was crazy, the fact that he was a leader of anything was unthinkable. |
Ever since Episode 35 or so, when Isaac was screaming about how "Now I will become a god!" while Storious was just twiddling his thumbs and just doing nothing, I figured this would be our endgame.
Glad to see he updated his look too. |
Nice to see that they are replacing the generic stock villain who wants to end the world with... the other generic villain who wants to end the world but has been in the show longer.
Assuming that is happening, anyway! I think there's any number of context that image can have. |
Also, is it me, or does Stoorius' new cloak look like just a green version of Isaac's (with some stuff added on to the shoulders)?

Guess we've got a Kiwami Arms situation, after all. Reminds me of that one scene in Gaim and Drive's Movie War. Awesome. I always thought it'd be cool if Slash could somehow have another Suzune so that he could use one in sword mode and the other in gun mode. |
Double gun would be cool!
