Some fascinating tidbits on the Sentai Figuarts from members of Bandai:

Terano: Since I was originally in the Collector's Division, I was able to experience the process of suspending the development of the squadron series at SHFiguarts (laughs). There were circumstances such as "difficult to expand overseas" and "the squadron wants to line up not only Red but also other members". If it is a Kamen Rider, it is possible to commercialize only the leading rider, but the Super Sentai is not limited to Red. What's more, when the design changes due to power-ups, most parts need to be remade, unlike suits for shooting. Then, the development hurdle became high, and the commercialization of SHFiguarts went away.

There was interest to revive the line as far back as Ryusoulger and Kiramaiger, but the developer realized Zenkaizer could encapsulate the whole team

Another member confirms they did consider adding the fan, but it could not be worked out in the final development schedule. The response of Zenkaiser and Momo has been great enough that they are considering doing other non-red releases

Sounds promising. Zenkaiser and Don Momotaro both have the advantage that they work on their own, Kaito is the only "Ranger" on his team and Taro has "companions", the Donbrothers do not operate solely as a group.

I hope they decide to give the "other team member"-idea a spin soon, like Oni Sister-soon.

Given they wanted to start during Ryusoulger and Kiramager and both releases so far have been hugely successful; I'd say that's a VERY good sign they'll do Ryusoul Red and Kiramei Red

Ryusoulger and Kirameiranger would be good teams to do imo. If they were really trying to commercialize Sentai figuarts and expand in to markets outside of Japan such as North America then I strongly felt they should of catered to more 90s Sentai teams that had an American counterpart.

They should of kept capitalizing on that nostalgia success they gained from doing Zyuranger and importing them under the Power Rangers brand. It seemed though they were still more focused on teams they feel fans in Japan would prefer than in other countries

I'd definitely prefer they do series that don't have figures than Zyuranger for the 1000th time, personally

The wording is interesting and also suddenly makes the Gokai Red remake make a lot more sense as well. Zenkaizer, DonMomo and Gokai Red are all leaders who can also utilize the powers of other reds or sometimes full teams, which meets the medium of wanting to provide whole teams but knowing the reds tend to be the only profitable sell.

Yeah AmiAmi does this from time to time now and it's stupid.

I use AE for Web-Exclusives for like 2 years now, ever since Nippon Yasan started getting sketchy. And I throw in the retail releases there that sell out on AmiAmi.

The Transformers fandom used them longer, the site has been around for a while, and the only stuff I've heard during that time is that their customer support is very - nonexistent. Which is nothing new in this hobby from my experience.

Never had a problem with them myself, and I saved a ton of shipping because they hold stuff ridiculously long in their warehouse. Which comes in handy during global issues that hinder shipments and that sadly happens way too often nowadays.

I've had good experience with several recent orders from Anime-Export (Ultraman Z Original, Zenkaiser, Revi & Vice). I've been able to order retail releases successfully before it sells out and they've become my go to store

What’s going on with Hlj and Hobby genki Momotaro sold out on both sites. This is crazy I never saw when he open on hobby genki and could not find the page to momo on hlj. Sentai is selling like Kamen Rider Figuarts we need to get more members of the team like the 6 ranger for webshop so we don’t miss out on preorder damn. It nuts how fast their selling out.

I've used Anime-Export once (Twice? I forget) and had no problem so I ended up just getting Momotaro, Astra and Zoffy from them. Now if Japan Post could stop being shit and start sending stuff to Australia again....

He's STILL available on Amiami, I'm kind of shocked. Didn't think he'd be this easy to get but it feels like in their case it was just a perfect storm of being one day later than all other retailers, the page initially breaking and him being limited to one per order.

Yeah... all Figuarts immediately went on "Order closed" and I think it was deliberate. They shifted the burden by making the other items in the drop available first, robots and Figuarts Mini and stuff and only then made the other stuff available.

Because it was very, very fishy to see all the SHF's in the drop go to "Order closed" immediately, people cannot order this fast, not for all of them at once. I though bots for sure but after they all opened again and were pretty much able to be ordered - couldn?t have been bots.

Revi and Vice are also still there, and have been for a while. Unless Revice and Donbrothers are inexplicably much less popular than their predecessors I think it's a sign that Tamashii have gotten their act together; and that we'll only have to expect the usual retail pre-order shenanigans from Seihous specifically
