It's not just those two though, Tequila Gundam and several others were changed. I just don't like unnecessary name changes. I also don't get why they couldn't have done an uncut dub with the proper names like they did with Wing when they added swearing into each episode just for the sake of it.

Anyway, I watched the first five episodes of the original series. I forgot how slow things are until they get to Earth. On the other hand, it is nice to finally watch the show in Japanese with actual subtitles instead of the Engrish ones I watched it with about 15 years ago. Oh, and the remastering job looks and sounds incredible.

Tequila Gundam was most likely changed to avoid references to alcohol.

And to avoid another Deathscythe Hell incident which was the exact reason God and Devil got changed.

Forbes reports that in a Japanese poll on which manga should get an anime adaptation, Crossbone was one of the top most desired. This was out of ALL manga, so that speaks a lot to what people want. Good thing Japan wants this too.

Crossbone has a good design so I can see that although really the only one I have seen is the special custom version from Build Fighters

Deathscythe Hell incident?

Walmart refused to stock anything Gundam Wing because Hell was in one of the toy's names. The names in G Gundam were changed to satisfy Walmart.

Yeah I can see why they changed tequila Gundam's name. That's not unnecessary, and that's totally necessary to appease censors. Also, I think they did get around the Deathscythe thing but simply calling it H instead of Hell. Cuz, y'know, profanity in toy aisles is another thing I can understand wanting to be avoided.

And yet Walmart has no problem selling guns...

Oh yeah, because kids so don't know what those words are. Nope, never heard a kindergartner say, "**** off you stupid slut!" to another student. Nope, never.

That are always locked behind glass and you need ID proof that you're legally an adult just to touch.

Did you miss Toys R Us almost getting sued for selling Breaking Bad figures right next to the kids toys a couple of years ago?

Most stores like to avoid being sued by angry parents.

That typically means they like to avoid selling things that have inappropriate content for kids*like alcohol or swear words* to them.

I don't know why this has to be explained to you.

The whole Breaking Bad toy thing was stupid given that they also sell figures of Walking Dead and no give a shit. They are also made for the older collectors which parents should do more research on before bitching about it.
