I think they send out the "we don't like that messages" depending on what the item is. My girlfriend managed to cancel a few plushies and a Mami figma (who was still shown as "in stock" at the time) preorders without any problems and then when I cancelled my figma Samus preorder (who was "sold out") I got that message despite it being the only thing I've cancelled in about three years.

How do rereleases work? Are dates announced? Ichigo is looking like a nightmare to get; hoping there's a chance he'll be put out again.

He wouldn't be sold on AmiAmi if he was. I think that's just AmiAmi's way of making sure everyone who wants one gets one.
