I agree pretty much 100% with matrix on Gokaiger. And I think you have some very valid points on Decade, but it not being fun?
Each Decade arc is a summer blockbuster. Its an hour of mindless fun with little to no ties to the next arc. |
Decade 9.
Blade world done. Tsukasa taunting and treating Kazuma like a total ass while Yusuke convinces him that Tsukasa's dickishness is actually tough love, with the series giving viewers a not so subtle way of telling us that no, Tsukasa is just being an asshole because he can. If not for Yusuke, Kazuma would've been gone and there would be no Blade. Literally. Tsukasa may have gotten the end speech, but Yusuke was the one who convinced him to not leave or attack Tsukasa. And no, I'm not having fun watching Decade fight. It's like watching GokaiRed. He tries to act cool and stoic, and when they're in a certain suit, it's just not fun to watch. Also, oh boy. Kaito has finally entered the series. Talk about a blatantly OP walking plot device. I can't wait for him to slow the nonexistent story to a crawl as he spiels on about his past with Tsukasa which will NEVER be resolved :I |

The stunning story line of Tsukasa having not eaten a sea cucumber is never resolved. |

Decade 10. Faiz world.
Holy crap, Kaito is played up as much of a Mary Sue as Decade was. I forgot about that. "He's super mysterious, and he knows everything about the past, and he's a super thief, and he can threaten an immortal, and he can bribe the thugs who should just fight him, and he can just vanish out of nowhere, and he has a gun, and he can run at super speed, and he can summon other riders, and he can use cards Decade can't, and he has all the cards from the start, and he can open his own dimensional portals, and he's stronger than other Riders, and he only ever loses because he let his opponent win, and he has MY NAME!" I swear, these are like bad fanfic characters. Oh, and Kaito is taking up all of Yusuke's screen time. Minus 10 points to Gryffindor. |

Anyway, Decade 11. Kaito is insufferable, Tsukasa is insufferable, Natsumi did nothing, Yusuke was barely in it, and Ryuga shouldn't have lost that fight. So yeah. That said, the Faiz characters were nice, giving this show something of the Wizard effect. Having relatively decent Characters of the Week, but the main cast was hardly worth watching. |

Finished episodes 4-6 of Faiz. Ok I'm starting to get a feel for this show. I liked that Yuka just slaughtered a gymful of bitches. I mean what's the point of being an Orphenoc if you can't decimate bullies. Well it was better than Yuji killing Time Pink and her husband. So Takumi, Mari and Keitaro are the main trio for the show, Keitaro seems like a Shunpei type of character, hangs aroun the main Rider, wants to be a hero, annoying/helpful from time to time. Though I like that there's a sub-plot between him and Yuka. Also just realized that Smart Lady is played by the same actress that played Shimada in Ryuki, didn't recognize her without the glasses. Seems like she has a bigger role in this series like a secret keeper of sorts.

Ooh my god I love kuuga

Agito World, Decade 12 and 13.
These episodes were good. Paced well (Until the end), nice character growth for Yusuke, a fine story arc for the Agito characters, and Tsukasa not being a complete douchebag. However, the flaws still reign through. Kaito once again hogs the spotlight by just being shoved into the plot for no real reason. Agito appears for maybe 5 minutes, and the climax to the end of the arc is just rushed. |
I really liked the Agito episodes. Seeing Yusuke fill the role of G3 hit the sweet spot. It was nice to see that often mentioned Kuuga/Agito connection be explored a little more. Even if it's AU I like that Kuuga in this world was able to become the rider that was based on him, G3.
|
I'm not so much a fan, actually. It's kind of like giving Godzilla a Mecha Godzilla armor for him to fight in.
I would've much preferred to see Kuuga and Agito or G3-X and Kuuga fighting side by side, since that would've been cooler. |

Decade 14 and 15, Den-O world.
I might download Onigashima Warship and rewatch that...Maybe. Anyway, this episode was a step down from Agito World. The Imagin are fun and all, but there really wasn't much to this episode. Tsukasa being a dick to Momo, Yusuke spent the episodes as Momo, Kaito being a terrible, terrible person. Hell, there wasn't even any Narutaki action. Ultimately, it felt like a Den-O crossover. Den-O taking all the spotlight isn't a bad thing, but for a pair of TV episodes, it really feels like nothing is going on, with no time to set up. Oh well. Kabuto world is next. |
i cant tell if you're tolerating the series or not :lol

I still want Figuarts of Kuchihiko and Goludora in their Rider Forms. (The Oni from the movie) |

Anyway, Kabuto World, episode 16. Eeyup. It was nothing special. Diend isn't being a complete monster, Tsukasa managed to keep his prickishness down (Probably because no one can out ego Kabuto) |

Honestly, I enjoyed Onigashima more than Final Countdown. Not that Final was bad. It's more a personal preference, than a commentary on the movie itself. I just really enjoyed the Oni in the movie. |
I have a dirty mind and aside from the word "Hard" I fail to see what's so dirty about it :lol
Anyway, gonna go tackle Decade 17. |
So my download for OOOs ended up finishing first so looks like that'll be the next series I tackle afterall.

Finished Kabuto world, episode 17.
Probably the best ending for a world. The ending with Kaito was cute, and, in all, Kabuto's world was fine. I'm ranking it with Agito as one of the good arcs. Next up is Hibiki. I know while I loved the climactic battle, I'm not so sure if the actual arc is good. |
Do love the clock up vs accel scene....

I was actually rather disappointed in Kabuto's world in Decade. Mostly because the alternate Tendou is literally nothing like the real deal.

Finished episodes 7-9 of Faiz. I liked the introduction arc of Kaido and damn can he strum a guitar. I'm having guitar envy because of that. I hope Kaido sticks around for the entire series. I liked that the Orphenocs are getting a lot of focus in this series too, much like in Gekiranger where Rio and Mele got a lot of character development despite being the series antagonists.

Decade 18 and 19, Hibiki World.
It was adequate. While there wasn't anything overtly wrong with the episode, it just felt too hasty, I guess. Things happened far too quickly for a 2 episode arc, and while the climax was nice, it reduced Asumu fighting Gyuuki to an anti-climax since the giant crab appears seconds after that battle. Overall, it's the worst of the good episodes, but that still ranks it above over the rest of the series. |
