While it is very expensive, the price makes a bit more sense when you realize disk media in Japan is often very overpriced, especially Blu-rays.

Also different topic for a moment: So I'm watching Kuuga for the first time and it's great. Can't believe I never actually sat down and watched the show in all my years as a Toku fan. I already owned the SS Rising Mighty and I'm glad I did, because the prices of the SS Kuuga figs are insane. Ultimate goes for almost $400. (!!!)

On the plus side, the original Kuuga Figuarts are dirt cheap. And I mean like $15-20 cheap, so I grabbed a few. (Mighty, Pegasus, Ultimate, and Daguba) They'll make great desk toys and tide me over until I can decide if the prices for the SS Ultimate are even remotely worth it. I'm guessing it was some kind of exclusive?

According to the tamashii site, SS Ultimate was a webshop exclusive released all the way back in 2016. It even had a second run released the same year

Yeah that’s what made me decide to get the other old Kuuga figs. Ultimate looked good in reviews, Pegasus is my favourite alt form, and Mighty was just so cheap I threw it in to balance shipping.

I end up learning so much about this movie completely against my will because I committed the great sin of being interested in Ultraman action figures. Dang. I have not even watched the trailer yet, because I do not want to be spoiled on anything.

I kinda want Bandai to take a break from sudden reveals-to-preorders for a bit, these past few weeks have been rough and I'm not planning to just void my bank account because they keep bomb-dropping new releases.

I was convinced I would miss the preorder for twokaizer because I have no idea how that name should be spelled.

I got one in at least. Figure looks awesome and I am excited Sentai is getting this shot. I would think it would be the easiest thing in the world to release past sentai heroes with the donbrothers belt as an accessory and market them as donbrothers releases.

I hope they do more from the Donbrothers team (aside from the rumored zenkaizer black). I would definitely prefer Onisister over Doragoku.

I think I will pass on Twokaiser after all. Doesn't fit in the display I want to build and after Zenkaiger ended I grew more and more aware of the aspects I didn't quite enjoy about it, and Twokaiser is one of them. Looks like a flawless figure to me though, really cool.

Imitation Ultraman is way more tempting actually :lol

I kind of want to throw him in the Shin Ultraman display, just for the fun of it. Then again, the Figuarts Shin Ultraman mold isn't that great IMO and its Web-Exclusive so... nah I think I'm good actually, don't need it.

Heck yeah to Twokaiser getting confirmed for release although still no release date for Gokai Red. I also hope those Kamen Rider W seihous rumors are true and yes we definitely need a rerelease of Eternal

Honestly Twokaizer could set up for Gokai Red given both suits share similar looks. Probably made more sense to do Zox first for synergy with the current offerings and then go back with a remold.

Some interesting choices here -- I guess since they already did Taiga (and Fuma) it didn't make sense to do all four recent series like Rider did; so they just do Z and Trigger and then go for some very fun picks of Seven and Baltan. Baltan is especially cool because that's something the character actually does! A lot!

Yeah. The Baltan will be nice for the people who do not have the shadow clone set, like me. Took me a long time to notice any differences with that Trigger figure, though. Ultraseven is also very nice. I would aim for seven and Baltan out of that set.

Got mine Demons & Genius today, i got a tiny bit paint qc issues with Demons left arm, Build Genius is perfect but i'm just gonna keep the hazard part in box

So I recently watched Kuuga and it was awesome. Always loved the design but now I love the show, too. I loved it so much I decided to look at some of the SS Figuarts and... yeah. I know I said earlier that SS Ultimate Kuuga was pricey but they kind of all are. Guess I'm glad I got Rising Mighty when I did because I don't think I saw any of his forms in stock for under $100. It's insane.

But I did notice the old Kuuga Figuarts, and they're cheap. Like, absurdly cheap. $20-30, if not less at times. So I decided what the hell and got a couple. So far I have Mighty, Pegasus, Ultimate and Daguva.

Gotta say, I'm impressed. Despite the age and lack of accuracy these are damn fun figures. Way different than the old W I started with way back when. I hated that figure because of how unfun to pose it was, but the Kuuga body feels more contemporary than it is. If I had any gripe it's that the hips are a bit limited but not terribly so. The metal feet feel good and actually aid stability unlike my old W. (I wonder where that guy even is)

The biggest downside seems to be their age. I've heard a lot of the Kuugas can suffer discolouration, namely on the arms. So far all of mine are good in that regard but the eyes are a different story. Ultimate's black eyes are cracking and Pegasus' are fogged, but on the latter it's not that noticeable but on Ultimate it's very obvious. Though IMO it actually looks kind of cool because the cracking happened behind the lenses and it looks like a cracked mirror effect or something.

But the thing I still can't get over is the price. Between Mandarake and Yahoo auctions these things are so damn inexpensive. I'm paying less for a quality painted, fully-articulated action figure than I am for a modern Deluxe TF. I could conceivably completely the entire lineup of original release Kuuga forms for less than a sealed SS Ultimate Kuuga by itself. :lol Plus unlike my actual SS Rising Mighty I feel confident handling these as desk toys without fear of ruining finishes.

I bought these with low expectations and was pretty surprised. I thought I'd be getting the cheap alternatives just to have some versions of these characters... now I think I might go all-in. ('^ ^)

Oh, and while I was on the prowl for Kuuga I decided to finally get SS Black. I have the Renewal and the model kit, and since I love the character so much I figured I'd have to have this version, too. The listing didn't mention any damage to the rubber shoulders so maybe I can just take really good care of it and avoid cracks.
